  1. No, it's OK State actually.
  2. Yup. You can whip just about everyone's ass you play, but if you lose to Memphis, you are not elite.
  3. I cannot even imagine throwing a football 70 yards. That's nuts.
  4. Pads and A's swap Drew Pomeranz and Yonder Alonso.
  5. Southern Miss's first year coach, Todd Monken, deserves a shot at a coaching vacancy. They were 4-36 the previous 3 seasons before him and now they are 9-3 and playing in a championship game. Hell of a job he has done in a single year.
  6. If you told me Ole Miss would beat Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State in the same season and would have three losses, I'd say that's impossible, but yet it happened.
  7. Jimbo. 100% Jimbo
  8. Stedman Bailey of the Rams has apparently been shot in the head, leg, and hip.
  9. How about this. This would take some of the lame subjectivity from the playoff committee. 8 team playoff 1) Champion of ACC 2) Champion of SEC 3) Champion of Big XII (get one you dolts) 4) Champion of Big 10 5) Champion of Pac12 6) Best team from Group of 5 7) At large bid 8) At large bid So really the playoff committee would only be choosing 3 teams.
  10. Perriloux was dismissed from the program. Harris sucks and Jennings is HIS backup (that should tell you something). Mettenberger was a transfer from Georgia. Randall never took a single snap at LSU before transferring. Shepard was moved to WR. Jefferson was hit or miss and barely played by the end of his career. Lee was also essentially a bust. I don't think the issue is that he can't get highly ranked QB's, it's just that they generally don't pan out, which could be his inability to coach them up or could be he just isn't good at evaluating which highly ranked QB's are overrated. He has never recruited a QB that was a multi-year consistently good QB at LSU.
  11. Why? They spent the 80's and 90's losing 5-6 games almost every year. They lost 3 or more in 4 of Saban's 5 seasons. In 111 seasons they've averaged 3.5 losses per season. History is irrelevant in the "what have you done for me lately" society we live in. From what I can gather from being around a decent number of serious LSU fans, their dislike of Les comes down to two things: 1) He can't beat Saban consistently, and 2) He can't recruit super stud QB's. From my vantage point, I think they should consider themselves lucky that they have a coach who has averaged 10 wins a year for 10 years in a row while playing in a difficult division.
  12. Mecole appears to be a heck of a player, but man he is quite the attention seeker. He is REALLY enjoying the process from several other things I've seen about him.
  13. Jimbo seems like he would make a lot of sense there. LSU needs to be careful though, you could do a WHOLE lot worse than Les Miles.
  14. Figured I'll put this conversation in the current week's thread Yeah, that's pretty much it. The SEC is extremely pedestrian, if not straight up bad this year. If I had to rank them this season I'd go Alabama - Will definitely cream Florida in the Champ game and then beat whomever they play in the first round of the playoffs. Bama v. Clemson will be a decent game. Ole Miss - Would probably cream Florida as well if they played them in a Champ game. A head scratching loss to Memphis and a flukey loss to Arkansas make me want to throw myself off a cliff at this point since a win over Mississippi State this weekend would have sent Ole Miss to the SECCG, not Alabama. Chad Kelly has been a godsend, leading the SEC in most QB categories in his first year in the system. MS State - Would also cream Florida. Dak Prescott is doing badass things in his senior year to keep them somewhat relevant. Arkansas - Would also cream Florida. This team lost to Toledo and Texas Tech?? Florida - Without their roided up QB, they are dragging to the finish line. I feel sorry for the Sugar Bowl who are going to have to take Florida following probable ugly losses to Florida State and Alabama. Georgia - Needed overtime to beat GA Southern. Time for Richt to go. 15 straight bowls is nice and all, but to underachieve for so long in the SEC East is unacceptable. Tennessee - Headed for 8-4, they are so-so LSU - Miles is toast Auburn - Yeah.... the Gus Bus is in trouble. They have way, way too much talent to suck so bad. Texas A&M - Sumlin's seat is a bit warm The bottom 4 teams, all East teams, are virtually indistinguishable in their suckitude Vandy Kentucky Mizzou South Carolina
  15. Just not understanding why Bama is being singled out for ridicule. Clemson has 2 top 20 wins, Iowa has none so far as I can tell (undefeated so their ranking is fine of course), ND has one.
  16. And Notre Dame will have what, one? Over Navy. Oh, and Ole Miss will def lose to Miss State. Home team has won that game like 28 of the last 30 times or something.
  17. that's a clown pronunciation, bro
  18. These uniforms in this Titans-Jags game. My god.
  19. That's some deadball-era Mordecai Brown type stuff. Amazing.
  20. There is a line of scrimmage graphic line across the field in this Seahawks game. Is this new or have I just never noticed it before?
  21. Rob Ryan still has a job somehow
