i would take blanco's ugly mug over bako any day of the week.

i'll always remember him tossing the baseball up and down while sitting in the dugout while never actually looking at the ball...just looking straight ahead. and he never dropped it.

i was at the game tonight (go cubs!) and, my god, a propped-up piece of plywood can play better defense than theriot. i love his OBP, but that glovework leaves something to be desired.

living in new york, i get the brewers/reds feed?! wth?! can i even purchase this game on mlb.tv? do bars get national feeds for fox games that your local cable provider does not? i want to see this game! i have mlbradio which could suffice my cub fix, but i WANT TO WATCH IT! *shakes fist at FOX*

game 1 of the nlcs is when i fly into chicago from nyc. it's also my birthday (big 26). i'll be running the chicago marathon that sunday, so hopefully my brother-in-law can hook me up with tickets for game 2.

    what a play by molina.

soriano looks so lost at the plate.

i just noticed the prices for tickets this year. WOW! :cray: i remember getting box seats for 35-40 bucks just a few years ago.

so i don't think i'm going to have time to sit in front of a computer at work today to purchase tickets, so i'm setting up my home computer for it and having my girlfriend try her luck. i'll have about 50 windows open. i've given her detailed instructions on what the screen(s) look like (VWR window, purchase tickets window, etc.). i am praying that she doesn't mess this up for me. i'm aiming for may 31st against the rockies. wish me (and her) luck.

That's just so pathetic. It's basically David Justice. Certainly worthy of election to the hall... Question....someone told me today that Andre Dawson said that he wouldn't wear a Cubs or Expos cap on his plaque if he were to ever make it...he'd wear a Red Sox one. Is that true? dawson has been quoted in the past stating that if he were to be elected to the hall of fame, his choice would be to go in as a cub.

yeah, i'm not the only one who can't stand players who have OBP's that hover around the .380-.400 mark.

just because lee, ramirez and soriano forgot to show up during the playoffs, you want to TRADE them?! talk about knee-jerk reaction there. who do you have that will fill those voids? torii hunter? jim edmonds?

i'm not as depressed as i was in '03. the cubs have some good, young talent coming from the minors who will make an impact next year. soto, pie, hill, marmol...good guys to cheer for. the cubs really do need a GM who values the power of a walk and a hitter who can take pitches. it'll be interesting to see what happens at the GM position during the off-season. hendry was signed for one season, correct?

How about the Mets last week? if i knew this week that the cubs were going to play like the mets did last week, i would've been happier if they didn't make the playoffs.

i've never seem a team crap the bed like this one. the offense left their bats at home (excluding SOTO, of course). grounded into 4 double plays this evening...millions left of base...trillions of strikeouts. just absolutely pathetic on all counts. i've seen the cubs suck before, but i had no idea they would suck this much especially in the playoffs. i know this team had their faults coming into this series, but i'm just dumbfounded by all of this. no fight whatsoever.

being a cubs fan and living in new york, one of the first (if not THE first) question i get asked about the cubs is "what happened with bartman?" it's like i hang with the dude every day and eat bagels for breakfast with him. did people go up to red sox fans before 2004 and ask them "SO WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH BUCKNER?!" i don't get it. i never had a mental image of red sox fans sticking a buckner doll with needles or camping out in front of his house trying to kill him. why do people think we're like this? didn't the newspapers leak his home address and what not way back when? what a mess that was.

i'll be making some homemade mac and cheese before saturday's game. i got it off the front page of yahoo! a few days ago. if you're familiar with yahoo!, you know what i'm talking about. with that said, please win saturday and sunday. there's no better feeling to have than butterflies in the stomach on your 25th birthday when the cubs and dbacks are battling it out in game 5 at arizona. something i have been looking forward to for years now...a cubs playoff win on my birthday. for that to happen, though, these goofballs need to win this weekend. in the words of captain jean-luc picard of the USS enterprise... make it so.

    i think we're done.

too many first-pitch swings by the cubs which resulted into outs, which has been the mantra of the cubs since i was a wee lad. i knew after the 6th or so that the cubs were not going to pull out a win by the at-bats they were showing. webb was good, not great. zambrano impressed me and lou's call to pull him was correct. cubs could've had koufax in his prime pitching last night and they still would have lost with the lack of plate discipline they showed. cubs need to take more pitches tonight and lilly has to shut down the dbacks. commen sense, eh? of course. go cubs.

johnny walker black has been consumed! GO CUBS! WHOO HOOO!!

JOHNNY WALKER BLACK IS ON ICE! LET'S GO PADRES!!!! WHOO HOOO!!!!
  23. cl smooth
i'll get home from school during the late innings of the cubs game, so if they win and the brewers lose, it is an excuse for me to drink johnny walker black. go cubs!

he couldn't grasp the reality of his suckiness and released his inner anger on reporters. it was a disgusting sight to see, this suckiness of his. i thought i was done watching it back in '99 or so, but here it is again. his suckiness is like a forever pimple...it will never go away.
