  2. not sure if this is the correct forum section to post this but i know a few of you are season ticket holders. i'll be in chicago visit family and friends from 9/1 to 9/5 and plan on going to either the saturday or sunday game vs. the braves at wrigley field. if any of you season ticket holders have 4 tickets together for either of those games, please let me know. thanks!
  3. bones jackson was the man!
  4. Beltre hit a double for his 3,000th hit. And of course someone touched the top of his head.
  5. Robbie Ray just took a 108 mph line drive to the skull.
  6. I think Beltran and Halladay get in without much trouble. Carlos Lee doesn't really even belong on that list, though. I think he was referring to Cliff Lee and not Carlos Lee.
  7. those are video game numbers jfc
  8. Speaking of the phrase journeyman, does anyone else remember a huge argument on the pre NSBB espn Cubs message board about whether journeyman referred to a player that played for a lot of teams or a mid level, non-elite player? Yes. AndytheClown as per usual was right in the middle of that one. I don't know that there ever was a more dedicated internet troll. andytheclown and davemason were the espn messageboard trolls i remember. my lasting memory of andytheclown was his theory that walter payton died due to steroid abuse.
  9. Federer in the finals at Wimbledon and up 2 sets to 0. Made his opponent (Cilic) break down and cry during the middle of the 2nd set. Even at 35 (edit: i said 34 by mistake), dude is a machine.
  10. mike and the mad dog had their own 30 for 30 episode: http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/short-sharp-30-30-looks-one-sports-talk-radios-mos-257830 anyone watch it?
  11. chip makes it sooo close to the end without screwing up. simply heartbreaking still one of the best games i've ever attended.
  12. Picked a good night to play video game baseball instead of watching real life baseball.
  13. that's the goofiest horsefeathers i've seen all day. fantastic!
  14. hot damn, that's a tough read.
  15. i actually never understood the yankee hate. is it just overexposure from the media? i mean i am sure lots of people hate the cubs for that. i have a good friend that is a huge yankees fan and he always pulled for the cubs so i kind of return the favor for the yankees with him. plus i'm really happy for starlin. i would LOVE for a cubs/yankees WS this year. that would be amazing. could be from the days of their high payroll/buying free agents left and right to fill holes in their roster (they seemed to throw money at good/great players more often than not), winning 4 world series in 5 years and being in the playoffs just about every year for almost 15 years straight. you could throw in the jeter love affair and the disdain of steinbrenner into the mix, as well. these yankees don't bother me as much. kind of cool to see the youngsters produce and compete as well as they have. aaron hicks is finally having a breakout year.

  17. always an enjoyable experience at citi field. had a few mets fans inquiring about schwarber's "shredded knee" and if it was as bad as the stories made it out to be. if any of you plan on going to citi field in the future, i suggest sitting in section 513. upper deck directly behind home plate and great sight lines. $37.50 for two tickets including fees through vividseats.com.
  18. I am at Citi Field. The Cubs are winning. You're welcome.
