  1. that second period of the detroit/phoenix game was out of control. when teams are playing like that, playoff hockey is better than playoff anything else. I am trying to not sound like a homer, but the coyote/wings series has been very entertaining hockey...traps be damned!!!!! I agree with Alex also, what a great night to watch 6 hours of playoff hockey action
  2. haha whoops, i'm off a period. i assumed it was the third based on the score. damn you hawks for losing and making me drink my sorrows away. Avs have 4 goals on ten shots????
  3. there is nothing I enjoy more in hockey than when team gives up a goal because a dman got way out of position to make a big hit...thank you Ed Jovanowski
  4. Were they ever? When Olcyck does their games I understand it some. He was their coach when several of their players were up and coming, so I understand some homerism there. I have no idea who did their game tonight, but it may as well been the actual Penguin announcers.
  5. Has Versus given up on even trying to be objective in Penguins telecasts?
  6. back in the day I used to think Hawk and Wimpy were okay....I cannot watch White Sox games anymore because of Hawk and Stoney
  7. Q was trying to appease cynosure
  8. That's a good point about Buff. But if I need to balance the value of Buff in front of the net vs. Hendry not playing, Buff stays on the blue line. And wtf is wrong with Kim Johnsson?!????!?!?! Don't forget teams the Hawks are playing are going to take their run at Toews, Sharp, Hossa and Kane and I prefer if Buff is out there ready to goon it up in case Nashville is feeling feisty. I don't want some player on a 2nd tier team like Nashville getting away with a cheap shot, so I want Buff out there as much as possible. If Buff can play like he did last year then the Hawks will be extremely tough to beat, even if you are the Sharks or Red Wings. Did you mean last year during the season or in the playoffs? My memory of Buff in the playoffs(especially against Detroit) from last year is that he was more concerned about hitting people than playing hockey. And he was not really that effective at the hitting
  9. he feels shame
  10. I just want to point out that WC hockey is sooooo much better then EC hockey.
  11. i know they dont call a lot of penalties in OT but oh my
  12. wow that was not even close in real time
  13. He is similar to Palmeiro!!!!! Just shows that he is a frickin steriod using cheating jag bag!!!
  14. I didnt see the whole game of course, but it looked like San Jose had no sense of urgency out there. Just skating around la la la la, I am sure we will win because we are better la la la la
  15. 3 for 4 on the PP is how...I think the coyotes were better in the 3rd and got pretty lucky that they didnt get a minute and a half 5 on 3 against with about 5 minutes left. It was easily the most exciting game of the night though
  16. Dang it Andy...the Wings were hot until you started watching
  17. I have to say that this is becoming a real lame Cub board if this thread is still the main topic being discussed.
  18. Melrose finally got over his disdain for the Wings and picked them last year...not good for the Wings
  19. i've always wondered why the majority of forwards in the nhl shoot left-handed, while it's the opposite in baseball. i very seriously doubt most are left-handed. are they just given left-handed sticks when they start playing? I am right handed but (used to) play hockey left handed. I think there a many reasons why young players do this, not just better shooting angles against RHed goalies. I am not sure of all the reasons why I played LHed except that is how my dad started me and I was capable enough with my LH to do it. I always thought I was a better defensive player because I could one hand the stick with my dominate hand, which is harder to do if you shoot with your dominate hand. I'm left-handed for athletics, and I shot RH and found the same defensive benefit. it also helps a lot on face-offs to play with an off handed stick

  21. this will put him on the all time George Brett team
  22. my 10 yr old son really enjoys stupid home video shows, which seem to dominate non baseball WGN programming

  24. The Western Conference had 7 teams make 100 points...wow
