  1. The finally call cussing diving this series and it was against detroit...aaaggghhh
  2. I think both WCSF are going to be awesome. I think San Jose against either Pheonix or Detroit is going to be great, but i think the Hawks/Canucks may be the best series of all the playoffs
  3. I am a Howard fan, but the Phillies overpaid here
  4. I dont usually bitch about officiating. and they coyotes were better in the last 2 periods and deserved to win. but when the cuss is the NHL officials going to realize that the Coyotes are clearly making a team effort out of cussing diving!!!! I understand that teh Wings have a couple of players who are guilty of diving at times...lilja and holmstrom, but good god it is clear that it is a coyote strategy in this whole series
  5. Ovechkin got a game misconduct and a 2 game suspension. He also has a past history. I think the NHL will not say that these things factor into their decisions but I think they do...1st. No game misconduct 2nd. Hawks won the game 3rd. Its the playoffs. The first two issues are going to drive a suspension and the 3rd is going to keep it at 1 game...that is just what I expect from the NHL
  6. It was a very entertaining game. I was just completely blown away by how the whole game went. Hawks should have won because they were better. Preds somehow fluke their way into what should have been a sure victory and yet do just about everything they could do wrong after the Hossa boarding to blow the game...kudos to the Hawks for coming back to win when they could have easily been demoralized, especially after the Hossa penalty.
  7. Nobody was making that claim...but in reality Kane was a huge reason that Nashville even had the lead and its not like he did anything great or create a great play, he was left alone on the doorstep. I would say that Nashville's defense missed out huuuuggggeee in a key situation, not that Kane made a great play. He went to where he belonged and Nashville's dmen were not where they belonged. Kane scores I think Hossa will get suspended just because the NHL has no rational of how to actually follow any consistent rule application. The main reason he will get suspended is because he didnt get a game misconduct and scored the winning goal right out of the box. If Nashville would have won there would be no suspension
  8. Sullivan has always been like this, even when he was a Hawk. He is one of my favorite non wing players what a bizarre couple of penalty calls. It was almost like the refs felt like they needed to start calling penalties lol, totally didn't see your post before I posted. But yes, I agree. I posted mine after the first 2...the next 2 were just as bizarre

  10. nothing I dislike more than giving up a PP goal on a penalty that was called because a player dove.
  11. I would vote for Doughty....but honestly only seen about 6 Kings games all year. I think it is a close race though, none of the 3 are clear cut favorites, which may lead to Green winning.
  12. you do realize that the Cubs are next to last in the NL in runs scored? Yet we would be pretty good if our bullpen wasnt so damn awful? The offense is something I figure will come around. We've had leads, we've just been unable to hold them. I realize you can't win every day by scoring 2 or 3 runs, but I still see the bullpen as the bigger problem than the offense. the margin for error is much less with a poor offense. If the Cubs had a good offense the bullpen would look much better
  13. This. If you can't sell out a playoff game, you should have your team taken away. i don't even think the Wings sold out their game last night; it surely didn't look like it probably not. Wings have had some serious issues with not selling out the last few years. I dont think its apathy as much as it is just too frickin expensive in a city that is having huge economic issues
  14. i am watching on a crappy internet connection...tsn's graphics are not the clearest
  15. So a predator fan spoke well of his team and predicted them to win on a predators fan site?
  16. they are winning by 2 now
  17. they are winning
  18. Wings/Coyotes have been a very entertaining series so far...Pitts/Ottawa has been rather boring minus the Sutton hit...wonder which series is on my tv right now
  19. you do realize that the Cubs are next to last in the NL in runs scored? Yet we would be pretty good if our bullpen wasnt so damn awful?
  20. there are threads about it on the 2 wings pages that I read now. I am not gun ho on changing or anything, but until today he has gotten a free pass
  21. random thoughts Jimmy Howard has not been good. I am not blaming him for the Wings being down a game, but he has not made any big saves. No one in Detroit seems to be making an issue of his play even though he has given up 12 goals in 3 games I think players like Adrian Aucoin show how much better of an organization the Hawks have become. Aucoin was a good dman who signed with the Hawks during their bad years and played like complete crap. He gets away and has become a good dman again. My guess is he would be a solid 3rd guy if he joined the Hawks again. I am really not sure what to make of the Sharks. I think they probably really need to start crashing the net some more and not worry about puck possession as much. But that will expose Nabokov more and I am not sure he is up to the challenge The Flyers beating the Devils is the biggest surprise to me so far. Kopecky on the PP...WTF!! One of the more underrated issues with the Wings from this past offseason was the losses of Hudler and Samuelsson. I love players like Draper, Eaves, Helms and Adlekadar. However playing 4 players like that instead of 2 does take a lot of scoring ability away. Also, Cleary does not create for himself well so playing on a line with Helms and Miller takes away a lot of his scoring ability
  22. If the Hawks win tonight, every series will have started 1-1. I am sure that has to be a first, but am probably wrong
  23. I kind of expect the Predators not knowing what hits them on Sunday. I think the Predator will see how outclass, talent wise, they truly are in this series. I expect that Hawks will win the series and am not debating that they are a more talented team. I think you may be underselling Nashville some though. They are not in a hockey media bed so you don't hear a lot about some of their players, but that does not mean that they lucked into a 100 point season. Nashville's defense core is very comparable to the best in the league, which helps offset the fact they are lacking in strong scoring forwards.
  24. Sutton's very clean hit on leopold post game interview with a reporter who is pretending to be a Penguins fan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmVdVJ1sRJI
