I have a ton of TWTW and somehow didn't even get drafted. -
Took 4 rounds before the first Michigan player was picked. The drafts the past few seasons really tell how talent deficient UM has been since the end of the Carr era. well, chances are decent we might have actually had the #1 pick in this draft had Lewan declared... Still scarey how good Michigan might become once Hoke is coaching real talent. He has done a great job with not much so far.

I was resigned to the fact that The Wings were not going to make the playoffs and was okay with it. Now that they can get in with just one point I will be frickin upset if they do not make it. I am not that big of a "look how great our playoff streak is kind of guy." But in reality it has been a rather impressive streak. This would be the first year that they barely made it, if they do. I think they have only been lower than a 4 seed twice during the streak.

I think if the options are to play Minn or Lumbus, you would be better off playing Lumbus in my opinion. Yes Bobrovski(sp) could steal a game or two but Minn has enough talent to win. They are just under performing for some reason. If a team was going to make a run like LA did last season my money would be on The Wild. Don't get me wrong I think The Hawks would beat either one(or the Wings) but if I had to chose of the three it would be Lumbus, Detroit, Minn in that order.

Welcome to the wonderful world of hating the Red Wings. Its funny that Columbus has been in The Wings division since joining the league. I think they have played twice in the playoffs and now are fighting for last playoff spot. I still have no feelings one way or another about Columbus. I have thought and still basically have thought that this is about Detroit doing enough to get in, not any Wings vs Blue Jacket thing.

I wonder if they were playing solid defense but were struggling at the plate would Sveum and Kaplanians even consider talking about demoting them. I think they would be much more patient with offensive struggles. -

Columbus is not really an up and coming team either. Not like the Hawks from 5 yrs ago or anything. I think them being surprisingly good is kind of cool, but I do not see them becoming an elite NHL team for 5+ yrs anytime soon.

Just want to mention that Gary Harris announced he is staying at MSU. So Michigan will not even be the best team in their state.

I am currently watching Sportscenter drone on about next years NFL schedule for 10 mins. I am sure we will get at least 10 mins of NFL draft talk also. This while actual baseball, basketball and hockey seasons are going. WAAAAY Overexposing the NFL sure does not seem to be hurting them.

As much as I am in favor of anything that helps increase the chances of Iowa beating Michigan, I hate seeing players like him and Burke leaving early. The NBA is stupid. Hardaway yes, Burke I understand him going. I usually never question anyone going for the money. I think in Hardaway and Robinsons case though, I may have a slightly different opinion. Still hard to argue going for the money.

I think even if The Wings wanted to goon it up, who would do it? They didn't do it last year even with Weber's dirty hit. I would be shocked if anything more then Tootoo getting into a stupid fight would happen. Plus, I really do not think The Wings think of The Hawks as a "heated" rival. I think if they were going to goon it up, San Jose would probably be more of a target.

ABC could never get any kind of ratings with regular season baseball in the 70s/80s. Which is probably why Jackson is never thought of as a baseball guy. They also had guys like Uecker, Cosell, Palmer, Reggie Jackson and Don Drysdale. Not sure why that group of guys couldn't garner any kind of ratings

Come on overtime has been a part of hockey since 1983. You can't call the OT win make believe. 4 on 4 is much newer...but I made my sour grapes post. Congrats to the Hawks..they swept the Wings in the last year of them being divisional rivals

Hawks are 1-0-3 against the Wings this year in real hockey...3-0-0 in fairy tale make believe hockey, including 2-0-0 in the mystical game of red rover on ice....NUNs sour grapes post of the final year of Hawks/Wings rivalry

I am not convinced either...but all indication at this point from what I have read is that they are both staying. It is not as big of a story as Michigans possible early entries so it is hard to get a real good read on it at this point though from the mainstream media in Michigan. I think as long as both do not go, then MSU will be a top 5 team. If they both go...well

I think if there is any team that could make a LA Kings type run this season it is probably Minnesota. The Hawks would probably have an easy time with any of the other lower seeded teams currently. IF Helm and Bertuzzi come back I could see the Wings winning a couple of games and maybe pushing a couple of others, but still not nearly enough to compete with the Hawks in a 7 game series.

he has like 18 points or something like that in his last 16 games, with a ridiculous +/- I don't watch the Hawks like you guys do, but I am also impressed with his overall game. He seems to work his tail off on both ends and is tough in the corners. Of course that could just be my smallish sampling of watching.

I don't have an issue with that. You bite on a pump fake, you deserve negative consequences. You should. If the offensive guy leans into the defender, that should never, ever be called a foul. If the the defender stays vertical, you're rewarding the offensive guy for initiating contact. It's a crap play and awful officiating when it gets called. Nope, still don't. Don't bite on a pumpfake. The consequence is that you are out of position defensively.
