  1. That guy! I love that Illinois is basically in a no-lose situation. Everyone expects them to get blown out, so they can only impress. Or get blown out as expected - who would that impress?
  2. I'm going to predict an OSU win over LSU. I'm also going to predict that shortly afterwards we'll see a long overly complicated rationalization using mathematical models of why LSU was the better team and "should have" won by Meph. Were you one of the many on here last year predicting an Ohio State win over Florida? Oh, I get it. Ohio State lost to Florida last year, so they can't beat LSU this year. Gotcha. Ohio State isn't as good as they were last year and LSU is better this year than Florida was last year so yeah is make sense to predict another SEC blowout of a Big Ten team.
  3. Kansas should have been punished just for their ridiculous non-conference schedule - Central Michigan, Southeastern Lousianna, Toledo and Florida International and don't give me that BS about how Kansas had no way of knowing those teams would suck when then made the schedule up years ago. Rewarding them only encourages this type of cream puff scheduling. Missouri got hosed.
  4. USC - OSU would have been a good game. :D Seriously, OSU ranked above LSU, so they would have been in the title game no matter what. That's a valid point, although in my mind, two fluky triple OT losses is not as bad as a home loss to Illinois. As Les Miles said, "We're undefeated - in regulation."

  6. It's just a shame the Trojans weren't up for the Stanford game and got upset. We would have had a great game with the two best teams from the two best football conferences playing for the National championship. Instead we get two blowouts. LSU over Ohio State and the Trojans over Illinois.
  7. I realize most of the Shepherds and a lot of the sheep around here don't care for Roz but I thought today's piece was worth sharing with the class. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=86911
  8. I believe it was at this time (while under the influence) that TLR determined that it would be a good idea to sign Izturis.
  9. It's official. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=MLB&hl=226797
  10. Just curious, did Cobb ever use the racial slur "Hymie town" when referring to New York?
  11. Did Palmiero testify before a grand jury? But isn't it illegal to lie to Congress? Was this indictment unexpected? I don't believe Palmeiro ever testified before a grand jury, but he definitely lied to congress and committed perjury. If Bonds is being prosecuted then Palmeiro should be as well. Palmeiro flunked the steroid test after he testified before Congress. There was no evidence (i.e., a failed drug test) that he had taken roids before his testimony or committed perjury. Did he? probably, but there was no evidence he did so there was never an indictment for perjury.
  12. Bonds and OJ (hopefully) going to jail in the same year - Beautiful! Couldn't happen to two more deserving guys.
  13. No use arguing with Hendry bashers. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. I wouldn't considered him "damned" if he signed ARod to play shortstop.
  14. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21661702/ Hey Jimbo, how about moving him back to shortstop? You don't have an all-star there.
  15. This is very good news - for Cubs fans.
  16. Hopefully he'll be paid enough to be able to afford a limo driver.
  17. Hope you listened. That will be $50.
  18. Rudi is not playing and it appears Maroney will (although you nver know for sure with the Patriots). I'd go with Bush and Watson. Alexander has lost a step and might not be helped by the good matchup.
  19. Good. What has the Baseball Playeers Associatiion ever done for the average fan other that contribute to an increase in ticket prices by boosting the average players salary up to $2.7 million and stonewalling baseball on drug testing under the guise of "privacy" and thereby being a major contributor to the current steroid and HGH debacle in major league baseball?
  20. For some reason, I think there may be some disagreement with this writer's "points." In Dusty's defense . . . http://cbs.sportsline.com/columns/story/10410305/1
  21. Gotta love Rotoworld http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=MLB&hl=225416
  22. Shhhhh. Hendry will give him $136 million,
  23. He doesn't seem to fit DeWitt's profile.
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3058578 First Jocketty and then Schuerholz, is this further changing of the guard from "old school" to "new school" GMs? Could Hendry be next?
