  1. so far the couple of Cardinal fans I talked to are in denial that Pujols juiced, it's kind of funny. Did they use their usual "vast East Coast Conspiracy against the Cardinals" angle? The Red Bird fans I talked to said the report can't be credible if it names Pujols but not D. Lee or ARam.
  2. Looking for a silver lining, now that it's out in the open, maybe Pujols and LaRussa can save money and the environment by carpooling to their substance abuse counselor.
  3. Wasn't a math major but I don't think about 30 (active) players constitutes "1/2 the league." I was a math major and it's exactly half. Go look it up! 30 teams X 25 players = 750 total players 30/750 = .04 or 4% which is a lot less than 1/2 or 50%. You forgot to carry the one. Rawaction must have gone to Brother Rice.

  6. Not to mention those of us that got crucified for even suggesting there may have been a slight chance that Sammy did roids given all of the "circumstantial evidence."
  7. I think the Cardinals and that cheating slimebag Pujols (no wonder he's so surly to the media) should be forced to forfeit the 2006 World Series.
  8. I read his book. It didn't exactly reek of credibility. Anybody he named not on the list?
  9. Anybody named by Canseco that didn't make the list? He was a rat but a pretty credible rat.
  10. Wood, Prior, Sosa, Neifi and Bonds. Who else were guys Dusty managed?
  11. I feel for you Soccer, it's tough when "heroes" are exposed as the lying, cheating, frauds that they are.
  12. It would probably be easier if they just named the Orioles that weren't on roids.
  13. Amazing. The report hasn't even been issued, yet the damage control and spin doctoring has already started. It would be really refreshing if someone or their representative just admitted they used steroids instead of looking like a fool trying to deny it. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3153129
  14. I heard Hendry reference on base percentage tonight on Kaplan's show when talking about Fuk. It was kind of surreal but welcome.
  15. Hendry said he tried to gauge interest at the winter meetings in a Prior trade and there was none.
  16. Kenny Williams has been put in a straight jacket and all sharp objects have been taken from him.
  17. It's really that simple. On top of that, Greene is better than Theriot by a far wider margin than Roberts is better than DeRosa. That other stuff about lineup positioning, while nice to think about, is pretty insignificant. This team + Greene instead of Theriot would score more runs than this team + Roberts instead of DeRosa. Any concern that the Padres might have the Cubs last on their trading partner list after the Fukudome signing?
  18. George Offman said in his update that the Cubs and Sox had very similar offers. If Offman is any better for ya.... :P No, his source is probably Levine. I'll wait for confirmation from Mr. Miles.
  19. The view from the defeated. Very positive on Fuk. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/padres/20071212-9999-1s12padres.html I ain't buying Levine saying the Cubs didn't have the highest bid. Only if I hear it from a more reliable source like Bruce Miles.
  20. http:// http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/padres/20071212-9999-1s12padres.html After gathering medical information on Cubs pitcher Mark Prior, who is coming off shoulder surgery, the Padres have cooled somewhat on the former USDHS star, who would become a free agent today if the Cubs do not tender him a contract.
  21. Here's one reason why: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2609699 Some of baseball's biggest stars responded with denials and denunciations Sunday following a Los Angeles Times report in which former pitcher Jason Grimsley accused five players of using performance-enhancing drugs, according to a federal agent's affidavit. The other players cited were Baltimore teammates Brian Roberts and Jay Gibbons. Gibbons already went down, and maybe Tejada will be on the Mitchell report. Maybe? I think it's the lock of the century. I'm not that interested in post-juice Tejada. I think he's definitely trending downward.
  22. Manager Lou Piniella, who called Fukudome a cross between Ichiro Suzuki and Hideki Matsui, said last week he expected to bat the new Cub fourth or fifth in the order. Wow. I didn't think he had enough power to bat 4th. I always thought he was a leadoff or #2 guy. Just like OBP isnt the ONLY important thing out of a leadoff hitter, power isnt the ONLY important thing out of a middle of the order hitter. Also, while he doesn't have HR power, he definitely has great doubles power and will probably lead the team or be very close to the lead in 2bs. But it sure would be nice to have his OBP at the top of the order instead of a 330. Yeah I was thinking Roberts and Fukedome at the top too. I wonder if Soriano has made noise about being moved off the leadoff spot? Do you think the Cubs should actually obtain Roberts before everyone starts to pencil him into the lineup?
  23. Here's a little homework for you college guys. I expect a nice, concise one page summary posted by tomorrow morning - and now I am going to bed with a big smile on my face. http://baseballguru.com/jalbright/index.html http://baseballguru.com/jalbright/InfoLinks.html
