  1. It's really too bad that Tony LaRussa wasn't allowed to get his man Barry Bonds and thereby make a statement on his obvious priority of improving the character and disposition of the St. Louis Cardinals.
  2. Simply a case of TBFIB squared. The Biggest Frigginmorons In Baseball supported loyaly by "The Best Fans In Baseball."
  3. news to me. are we any good? Yes, pretty good with a chance to be very sucessful if you can only get you arms the concepts of marketing and branding.
  4. The only way this is true is if there really is no advertising value in having your name on a ballpark. it is true. NOBODY associates Wrigley Field with Wrigley Gum. I don't even associate the Wrigley Building with Wrigley Gum And your qualifications as a Corporate Marketing Branding expert are you play in a band and ???????
  5. Let the Wrigley company pay for the naming rights. They've been getting free adverting for years.
  6. He was moved there for age. Banks at first is what I'd call a "circumstantial" first baseman. His stats at SS and at 1B are night and day. SS: .291/.361/.577, 138 OPS+ 1B: .260/.308/.448, 85 OPS+ But he was Mr. Cub
  7. Granted he started out as a SS but no Ernie Banks?
  8. By the time the Cubs give up on him- assuming he busts- he won't have many prime years to have anything more than a Meh NFL career. If he stays to the end of his contract, he'll be 26 - not that old for a possession receiver in the NFL. My guess is that they Cubs and him will come to a buyout agreement long before that enabling him to join the NFL.
  9. I predict when it's all said and done Samardzija will have had a successful career as a wider receiver in the NFL.
  10. Question: If Dempster was such a great closer why is Lou moving him to the coveted #6 Starter spot? Answer: Because Lou knows Dempster did it last year with Smoke and Mirrors.
  11. Question: If Dempster was such a great closer why is Lou moving him to the coveted #6 Starter spot? Answer: Because Lou knows Dempster did it last year with Smoke and Mirrors.
  12.   and Izturis is going to lead MLB in OBP.
  13. Maybe Dempster should be focusing on getting his career ERA under 4.82 instead of trying to be the comedian all the time. I'll be glad when the "Joker" is gone.
  14. You want some cheese with that whine? There is no news. We've had a smattering of published media reports, a few comments from Mr. Miles and massive amounts of speculation disguised as "rumor" from "sources" or "guys". Of all the posts among the last 200 pages, I can think of hundreds more deserving of a "cheese with that whine" rebuff. Ok, I probably should have whipped it out at the .500 BA in high school post. Fair enough. Anyway, anyone who clicks on this thread should know that this is the thread about nothing. It says so right in the title. The last update was pg. 180somithing. Should it be renamed the Seinfeld thread?
  15. When asked if they'd be getting players that would be on their 40 man... Again, no specifics. Some will say that's because he's making it up. Others will say it's because he doesn't want to/can't offer up more than that for public consumption. Your prerogative. So now that Peace21 has officially retired from OH, who's the main "insider" over there now Belkast, Big Bird or some other goofy name?
  16. May he Rest in Peace21. This is a very sad day. Now we will be forced to rely on real "insiders" like HoopsCubs and Bruce Miles for information on a possible Roberts trade - no blatant speculation and misinformation - what fun is that?
  17. Wasn't this thread, a really long time ago, about a possible Brian Roberts trade? Sorry, I always struggled with Ancient History back in the day.
  18. Calling Kelly Tilghman of the Golf channel. Calling Kelly Tilghman of the Golf channel. We need you for a second.
  19. I am going to go out out a real long limb here and say Bruce Miles and Buster Olney are more credible than Peace21, Big Bird, Belkast and all the other "Insiders" at OH combined.
  20. Who is Peace21? Is he one of the insiders at OriolesHangout? Yep, and unlike all the other Insiders over at OH, he's very reliable and never wrong. :^o
  21. Truth be told, trading a reliever with such high value (probably his peak right now) would probably be a smart move. For Roberts, however, not so much. Yeah, I bet the Yankees wish they had been smart enough to trade Mariano Rivera ten years ago.
  22. Your God, your country, you fellow man, and Peace, Big Bird and Belkast.
  23. Just checking in. Has the Roberts trades been approved and signed off by Peace, Big Bird and Belkast yet?
