  1. I wonder if Roger plans on using Rafael Palmeiro's libel attorney to sue Senator Mitchell.

  6. I think Sammy probably did steroids, but as a member of the press, you need to be held to a higher standard than, "I don't care if there's no hard evidence, I think he did it, so he did it." I don't think that is what the Viper is saying. His point is that he's not going to apologize to Sammy and consider him innocent just because he wasn't implicated by a report that primarliy relied on two east coast trainers who were not affiliated with the Cubs and a west coast steroid factory. The Mitchell report acknowledeges that it didn't come close to naming all the steroids abusers. It shouldn't affect one's opinion on whether Sammy used PEDs.
  7. The viper chimes in. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cs-071216morrissey,0,3909108.column?coll=chi_tab02_layout
  8. Hey Roger, care to take back your lawyer's bogus denial and be a man like your buddy Andy and admit you took PEDs? From Rotoworld:
  9. Then why are you the voice of reason? just kidding I believe the answer to your question is quite obvious, besides, all the really clever names like Mephistopheles were already taken. just kidding.

  12. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=gallo/071214 "Whatever. This means nothing. People are still going to remember me as a guy who got to sleep with Halle Berry." -- David Justice "Notice what color George Mitchell is? Exactly." -- Gary Sheffield "It was strictly for beard growth." -- Mo Vaughn "I did ... not ... do ... steroids. Hmm ... doesn't seem like you're buying it. What if I say that while pointing?" -- Rafael Palmeiro "Flintstone's chewables are delicious, sure. But they'll ruin your reputation." -- Miguel Tejada "What, you thought someone would have the strength to throw the ball that far up on the backstop without the use of steroids? Be reasonable." -- Rick Ankiel "Toooooooold youuuuuuu! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha." -- Jose Canseco Doesn't drug use just make the 1993 Phillies all the more fun-loving? No?" -- Lenny Dykstra "I'm just excited to be listed with so many great players. It's a big honor for me." -- Jack Cust "If they want to asterisk my 22 career home runs, well ... I guess I will just have to live with that." -- Matt Franco "I didn't take steroids. I just stepped on a needle that some stupid $%#@ on the Number 7 dropped on the floor." -- John Rocker "Well, they didn't work, if that makes anyone feel better." -- Tim Laker "I would just like to thank the Brewers for not waiting five days for the Mitchell Report to come out before signing me to a $10 million contract last weekend. You guys rock." -- Eric Gagne "I just hope this doesn't taint the Pirates' magical 79-83 season of 1997." -- Kevin Young "What? I don't speak English. I mean ... no hablo Ingles." -- Jose Guillen "Show me where it says in the Bible that I can't do steroids." -- Paul Byrd "Roger said that if I didn't do it, too, we couldn't be BFFs anymore. He said steroids would make our love grow, right along with our muscles." -- Andy Pettitte "It's all a misunderstanding. I only used those needles to lance my bad acne." -- Troy Glaus
  13. Just curious, what makes one an "insider" on the Orioles Board? Do they ever indicate exactly who they "hear things from"? An Oriole offical? talk radio? some guy that knows some guy that knows .. . .? How reliable have you found these guys to be?
  14. Roberts being named will probably stop the Cubs pursuit of him - for a couple of days until things settle down. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=crasnick_jerry&id=3154064
  15. Maybe Roger can borrow the libel attorney Palmeiro said he was going to use against Canseco.
  16. Contrary to popular belief, roids have been banned since long before 2002. Just the tip of the iceberg. http:// http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/12/13/mitchell.news/index.html
  17. Well, Clemens and Bonds are the best pitcher and hitter of the last 20 or 30 years. No doubting that. But I was expecting other big names on the list. Stay tuned. More names to come. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/12/13/wertheimllosa.mitchellreport/index.html
  18. I love it when people throw out statements like that with absolutely no proof to back it up.
  19. Advice on how to Dress for Success. And by Dress for Success, we mean the codeword for a beautiful Czechoslovakian blond who really really needs $3,000...a pop... literally. On ESPN, Steve Phillips and Peter Gammons went on for about ten minutes on how clubhouse guys run errands all year long for the players and that sometimes they would just give them a big tip like that at the end of a year. This would include costs for transportation, dry cleaning, side work that might need to be done, food/meals, etc. And since players make such large salaries, alot of guys would tip well. I know I would tip well if I had someone running personal errands to make sure everything is done right. And no, I'm not that naive, just trying to remain optimistic. How unlike ESPN to cover for one of their own. Wasn't Kruk and Dykstra real good friends when they were on the Phillies? Kruk wasn't named correct? Where does the $14,000 tip come into play?
  20. and his always surly attitude with the probing media couldn't possibly have been roid rage.
