  1. If your ultimate goal is at least the NLCS, I think the Cards are an easier draw in a division series than the Bucs, especially with Martinez down. I like the chances of Arrieta over Cole or anyone in a one game WC.
  2. NOLA

    NFL Week 3

Josh McCown might be more effective in this offense than the current Drew Brees, healthy or not. The long threat stretching the field is what's been missing.
  3. Fox here has Astros/Rangers, MLB has For Love of the Game. Guess I'm drinking at the bar today to watch.
  4. Is this confirmed? I don't see it confirmed anywhere. Yeah, NOLA.com isn't saying anything yet. In any case, it's time to rebuild. Maybe the silver lining is that this finally expedites that process.
  5. Present. Between the Hogs and the Saints, there REALLY needs to be a long run by the Cubs this Fall, at least until the Pels start. Drew Brees is just getting old. The last couple of years were not as glaring with Jimmy Graham around, but without him he looks lost. And mentally, their heads just aren't in the game. Stupid and uncharacteristic mistakes.
  6. I think you'll be fine. Brandon Allen is the worst Arkansas QB in a decade plus.
  7. Also overrated is that new and improved AU defense. They can't seem to defend the deep ball at all.
  8. Outside of winning the division, of course, my next favorite option would be facing the Cards in the one game WC and the Pirates in the Division series. Cole in one game and STL in a series is the toughest path to the NLCS, IMO.
  9. Pedro is about to be on MLBN explaining a mechanical flaw he sees in Rodney's delivery. He says it's right at the beginning of every curve and changeup. Pretty interesting.
  10. And he said Maddon had gone to Motte as a closer more often than not. And he wondered if Maddon would go to Travis Wood after that single.
  11. How is Carpenter not tossed from the game? How?
  12. This is one of the best defensive infields the Cubs have started in years. Javy!!!
  13. One of them said it, can't remember which It was McCarver in the first inning.
  14. The only bad thing about the game is having to listen to Tim McCarver slip in "best record in baseball" every other sentence and now Ozzie yuck it up with the play by play guy.
  15. Wear that effing Card bullpen down before they go to Cincy on Thursday.
  16. That Gus Mahlzan revolutionary offense managed to get 327 yds total offense, good for last in the SEC by a good margin. Yeesh.
  17. So, no Dak for Heisman talk this year? Seriously, State lost everybody. They easily could be last in the division.
  18. Kinda my point. Some of Texas is more Mexican in culture than Southern. Other parts are more American Southwest. Other parts are basically Oklahoma. Texas is [expletive] Texas and it really doesn't fit into any other demographic or culture. This whole thing started because it was being talked about geographically. And geographically it's in the [expletive] south. Very [expletive] south. Actually, it started because it was said that the venue was basically a home game for Bama, which is crazy talk. Aaaaand with that, I'm done.

  20. Genuinely asking, but what part of the country were you raised and where do you live now?
  21. The sheer stupidity of this assertion is what is getting you into trouble here. You should have also bolded the first part of that sentence, maybe. Jesus H, enough already.
  22. Lighten up Francis. You know nothing about me or my education. My point is that Texas being the venue is at best a tiny advantage for traveling Bama fans, and certainly not as big a deal as you made it out to be. A completely separate cultural argument, but Texas does not fit into any definition of the South, any more than we'd consider Kentucky to be a Northern state. It's all splitting hairs, but if you want to make this prove a point about stereotypical dumb Southerners (fantastic irony) then so be it.
  23. Yep. Nice game today by you guys, even if the opponent sucked. I'm now back to being concerned about Ole Miss.
