    Saints cut CJ Spiller today, still owing him millions through next season. Between all the dead money owed, terrible FA signings from Jason David to Jairus Byrd, and striking out on draft after draft, the Saints FO might be the worst in the NFL. They have wasted the end of Brees' career.

    Not much to add, other than Fred is one of the things that brought me to this site. His unabashed enthusiasm and corny obscure stats were always welcoming and reminded me why I love the Cubs and baseball in general. It's a game that transcends generations and can bring all walks of life together to root for our Cubs. In a sea of often contentious debate and snark, Fred was a constant reminder of why we are all here beating our heads against the wall for this team. RIP Fred.

    For as long as I have been watching football, I have never seen a replay review after another play has been run. Arkansas just passed to a 1st and goal at the TCU 5, then ran on their 1st down play. AFTER the play is whistled down for a 2 yard gain, the officials go review the 1st down completion to the 5. Overruled (50/50 call), and they take the ball back to the 25. WTF?

    Yep. I'm already bummed they'll have the NL playoffs. FOX has the NL playoffs. Good. I assumed it was same as last year.

    Had no idea that they were THAT bad vs curveballs.

    You shouldn't be. No one in the South has a chance of challenging them for the division. They should get a first round playoff bye with 6 games against those guys + the 49ers and Rams. You can add the Chargers, Raiders, and Skins to that craptacular mix. I have a lot of trouble seeing how they lose more than 3 games. Raiders could be pretty good this year, even make the playoffs. They'll probably beat down the Saints on Sunday.

    OMC, what's the sentiment amongst fans on Freeze? He's had as much success as anyone there in awhile, but he seems to have a ton of that hokey Houston Nutt to him. Then there's the investigation looming. I have to think that with the higher expectations comes potential for a harder fall if OM doesn't win big this season.
