    Just play Zo at 2B and let Almora start in CF. Let Javy get a lot of work in the cage and be a defensive sub late.

    And all of this completely ignores Mike Matheny, who IMO consistently plays the wrong players because they're "his guys". He's Dusty lite.

    The mascot, spoilered for size: I hated it at first, but it has grown on me. It's not like anyone went to games, anyway.

    The Cubs FO is the worst thing that could have happened to the Cardinals. It's not just that their rival won a ring, but the only big market franchise in the division realized that they're big market and, oh yeah, hired the smartest guys in baseball. The Cards could easily be looking up for a long time if they don't start thinking differently.

    It started to feel incredible when I caught a glimpse of the banner that was posted yesterday. I'm going to shed a tear tonight when they raise that flag, no doubt about it.

    Holy crap! I knew it was going to be cool raising the Championship flag, but...wow. I am geeked out now.

    On Gameday that Heyward fly out looked like it went 500 feet.

    I love how they have those planters lined up beside the new flagpoles so new Championships flags can easily be added there.

    Exactly. The great thing about this team is that Lester is having a "rough outing" but KB or anyone can run into one and this is tie game.

    this is cool but i can't say i ever felt anxiety or despair going into a season Those early to mid 90's teams with Brian McRae had me feeling that way. The Carlos Pena teams as well.

    Yeah. For the first time in my life, I'm watching the Cubs open a season as the defending World Series champions. No [expletive] about goats and 100+ years and crap. Which has to really, really annoy the awful human beings who support the Cardinals. Win win. The Cards fans I know have been pretty quiet this offseason. Just wait and watch how much they gloat if they take 2 of 3 this week.

    Seriously... the dude is going to finish with a triple double average and SOMEHOW he might not win MVP? All cuz Harden/James/etc have more wins? It should be unanimous for Westbrook. To be fair, if James were on a horsefeathers team and wanted to average a triple double, do you doubt he'd do it? But he didn't. Westbrook is this year and deserves the MVP.

    Wouldn't it be very hot wearing a black t shirt in New Orleans? Or anywhere else where it gets hot and humid for that matter. Unless of course you don't go outside much. New Orleans is more muggy hot than direct sunlight hot. Not sure if that makes sense. Right. It really doesn't get above 96 or so that often, just muggy. Imagine putting a wet blanket in the dryer for 5 minutes then wrapping yourself in it. That is NOLA in August. And yes, buying that shirt today.
