  1. Number of plays before McNabb attacks Graham with a pass?
  2. Nice block St. Clair.
  3. I like the idea of Lilly at Dodgers stadium. It's a best-case scenario for his pitching style. I think Cubs in 4, dropping one of the first two to cause mass panic in the city.
  4. Bears defensive strategy: Keep forcing them to attempt 45+ yard FGs.
  5. Not a good tackle by Tillman, but I'm concerned about his neck/back from how that hit looked.
  6. The "let's not take a safety this drive" play call on 3rd and 11 from the 1.
  7. I suppose the 4 is better than letting them down it at the 1 if it somehow rolled there...
  8. That was a "right place, right time" interception if I have ever seen one.
  9. Another nice punt.
  10. Good first half, still don't think they'll blow a double digit fourth quarter lead this time.
  11. Philly probably coming all out at this punt.
  12. Orton not exactly running an efficient 1-minute drill here.
  13. Man, how good would the Bears look had they simply been able to hold two 17-point leads against Carolina and Tampa? Both those teams are now 3-1, and arguably the best teams in the NFC outside the East.
  14. You don't really think one of those guys should be on the roster instead of Marshall based on just tonight, do you? Marshall should be in before all of those guys. And Wuertz wasn't lights out. He walked Craig freaking Council with the bases loaded to put them ahead. Oddly enough, I'd rather have had Howry pitch to Counsell and Wuertz pitch to Braun. As stats go on the year, Wuertz has been the Cubs fourth best reliever this year by ERA+. Much of that is due to before he was wrongly sent down. His control has been howry-ty since he came back up on 1 Sep. Howry is the only other guy I'd rather not see then Wuertz in the playoffs if there are already any guys on base. In the eight appearances Wuertz has made since he's come back on September 1, he's allowed a walk in four of them. He's allowed a hit in three of them, and a run in one of them. That time was on two hits and a walk vs. Cincy before Marmol came in and gave up a granny on the first pitch in a game the Cubs won 14-9.

  16. Fun fact: When you have more leads, you are more prone to blow saves. It's like leading the league in double plays.
  17. You mean, 4-4, seven games on the road, resting their entire lineup 3 times, averaging 5.7 runs per game, and highly limiting pitch counts for the guys that matters? No, not worried.
  18. Just because he's on the roster doesn't mean he'll get into a game. Well he got in today. Everyone and their grandmother got in today, though.
  19. I'm almost amazed that a pitcher can be that consistently bad despite not walking anyone.
  20. Braun/Fielder going to get their shot at Howry now. If the game is still tied after that, I'm not sure what else Lou can do to prevent the game going to extras.
  21. Brewers trying to give Howry a free out out of courtesy.
  22. Sabathia will be out there until his arm falls off. Well, hopefully there's runners on when that happens, because I'm pretty sure that's technically a balk.
  23. Flyball, deep to ! This ball's got a chaaaaaaance.....gone!
  24. For some reason I am extremely amused when watching Gameday catch up to the current pitch, and like 6 pitches fly at the batter at the same time: Ball, Ball, Foul, Ball, Foul, Ball. Kosuke Fukudome walked. Good eye, Fuku, fouling off both pitches in the strike zone and letting the other 4 go by. That's some kind of bat control.
