  1. I can't believe how many people thought the Hawks would never lose again in the playoffs. It's not a one game series here, folks.
  2. The way I see it, the Hawks' C game has been good enough for a 2-1 lead. They need to step it up to win, but they're capable of much better than this.
  3. Bad defense, bad timing on the change.
  4. I'd bet playing for the US team doesn't sound like a bad idea now.
  5. He's 27. 27 is approaching 30 if you start from 0.
  6. I'll be happy if both are 8-2 in a few days. I'd be happier if the Hawks are 9-1 in a few days.
  7. Somebody's been following the sports guy twitter. What the hell do you need added? The Mets have a huge scoreboard, and not one relavent and/or interesting bit on information on it. You can easily see the score, inning, and count, why the hell do you need anything else? You want a nice closeup of the guy's face? Are you looking for batting helmet three card monty? Or those little "stolen base" videos? Oh, I know a jumbotron would likely just result in more of those stupid and pointless "races" or "games" and likely even a crowd meter. I'd just like to be able to locate things like pitch counts and speeds, and who is warming up in the pen without having to check the internet with my phone. I'd also like to be able to see what is happening in every other game in the league, and by what is happening I don't mean once per half inning. And yes, I noticed it on the Sports Guy twitter, so I was more aware of it when I was at the game Saturday.
  8. But yes, it seemed odd that the Flyers spent most of their antagonistic efforts on Eager and Kopecky.
  9. Bad blood with Eager being a former Flyer? When Eager was a Flyer, Pronger wasn't.
  10. I love this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zjzxP3utNM
  11. Although one of the losses was last year.
  12. Sopel was paired with Hjalmersson the whole 3rd period. Campbell barely saw the ice.
  13. I'm begging someone to do a fake "history will be made" of the Carcillo hit on Carter.
  14. Pronger was being a douche after the whistle, stealing the puck and picking up some of the stuff the fans tossed out in celebration after the game ended. Eager, probably something in retaliation.
  15. I've got nothing besides the refs thinking "Let's see if we can slip this one by the NBC analysts."
  16. Lost in all the playoff excitement, the Blackhawks have now won 7 straight games, 10 of 11, and 13 of 15.
  17. I feel comfort in knowing the Hawks played a repeat of Game 5 vs. the Canucks, and still won 2-1 this time.

    Week 8

My ongoing quest to acquire the entire Tigers lineup continues...
  19. Now, I understand the tradition and novelty of it, and love the flags for the NL standings, but at some point, the actual scoreboard becomes completely obsolete and pointless, and I'm beginning to think that time is past. There are so many stats being kept these days that just aren't possible with the scoreboard (and are thus shuffled to the secondary marquee, or the tertiary marquees, etc). Also, it's now been what, 33 years now since the scoreboard could actually show info on all the games? Having been to 3 games this year, of those that are actually following the game, a good 80-90% of them are checking their smartphones for additional stats during the game since Wrigley's scoreboard is so primitive. Am I alone in this thought, or is the scoreboard not even a real priority for update before many of the other aspects of the park?

    Week 8

Austin Jackson in for Kendry Morales, who broke his leg celebrating a walk-off grand slam. FML.
  21. If you're Philly, I don't see much positive you can take from it. Took advantage of several Hawks mistakes, got some fortunate bounces, got all the PP time, and didn't win.
  22. Yeah, I don't know how you can say that last goal was Niemi's fault. Niemi gives up rebounds, it's just that usually the defenders clear it away from the opponent, not right to them.
  23. That looked like a weird deflection right to the Flyer scorer.
  24. Batters completely erase the back line of the batters box so they can stand further back too. Big deal. Not guilty by virtue of two wrongs make a right?
  25. With a name like Ubaldo, he has to be good.
