Pretty obvious Pierce, Garnett, Rondo, Bosh, Horford and Smith would get picked. Allen was kind of up in the air, but probably the best backup SG in the East at this point.

They don't need to read my explanation, they just need to see the video and have a basic knowledge of NBA rules. It was a bad call and shouldn't have been a foul. Do you agree that there are multiple rebound opportunities every game where players have more blatant pushoffs or go over the back more than that play and are not called? I think it's an easy call to make, and there was no reason for Boozer to have his hand on the other player's back, and keep it there during the rebound jump. If he goes up with two hands there, it doesn't get called. I also think a large part of why fans thought it was a terrible call was the reaction by Stacey King and Neil Funk, and Funk probably thought one of the players was Tyson Chandler.

Even if it doesn't look as if he pushed off, he still has an obvious hand on the opponent's back, and extends his arm when he jumps backwards for the rebound. There's no reason for Boozer not to go up with both hands there.

Also, the Bulls have now beaten every Western team except San Antonio, New Orleans and Utah. They haven't played New Orleans and Utah yet, though.

Updated East NBA Finals odds via Hollinger: 1. Celtics: 25.9% 2. Orlando: 22.3% 3. Chicago: 22.2% 4. Miami: 22.1% Rest of conference: 7.5% Celtics with better than even odds of landing the 1 seed now, too (which makes sense with a 3 game lead with around 35 to play).

I think most people here see the Cavs as the post-1998 Bulls, except without the titles to fall back on as a reason for the ineptitude. The roster is old and bloated, and will need a fantastic set of drafts and player turnover to even get competitive again. Heck, it took the Bulls 3 rebuilds to get it "right" (First, Brand/Artest; second, Hinrich/Gordon/Chandler; third, Rose/Noah).

That might be the best road game the Bulls have played this year. No bad quarters.

Any team that doesn't make the playoffs is in the draft lottery. Since 16 of 30 teams make the playoffs, the lottery consists of 14 teams. Any teams that make the playoffs then get slotted in reverse standings order.

Pessimism: The Bulls only have 3 home games in the entire month of February, and those are against San Antonio, Miami and Charlotte.

For the first time all year, Hollinger's ratings have the Bulls higher than the Heat and Celtics. He also projects the Bulls to finish 56-26, tied with Miami and one game back of Boston (with Orlando at 54-28). Not that it means much of anything, but it at least shows the Bulls belong in the discussion in the East. NBA Finals odds via Hollinger: Orlando 27.5% Boston 22.4% Chicago 22.0% Miami 19.5% Rest of league: 8.6%

Don't have a good feeling about tonight, since Rose apparently hasn't eaten solid food in 3 days. And he wasn't really efficient lately to begin with.

Maybe it's just me, but when you do statistical analysis on the season, and that analysis indicates things in such a way that you actually conclude "Landry Fields is a much better guard than Derrick Rose", I'd probably look into revising the analysis, or at least call into question the results.

The ASG is in 3 weeks. Let's say Bosh comes back in a week, as speculated. I'm not sure either Bosh or the Heat even want him to play in that game two weeks removed from an injury. Really, I feel the same way about Boozer. He's injured enough, let the guy have a week off.
