    I'm going to have to print a fresh batch of fan club membership applications. I expect numbers to be growing very soon. Of course, it doesn't really mean that either of them have been good offensively (and oddly enough Ramirez seems to be rating better defensively early on). However, Stewart's peripheral stats are miles better and project for his improvement more than Ramirez's.

    As of today, Ian Stewart actually has a higher OPS than Aramis Ramirez. (.637 to .623)

    Kemp due up 4th in the 9th, so...a 1-2-3 inning would be fantastic. I just hope the hitters manage to hit everything at defenders. And that the defenders make the play right.

    He's never going to hit for power, so the biggest thing holding him back at this point is his walk rate, which was atrocious coming into today.

    I changed my mind. Wood's biggest mistake that inning was that he was leaving his fastball up, which may have been a product of not pitching for three weeks.

    Curious, what would qualify as a doom and gloom person right now? Watching wood walk the leadoff hitter and give up 2 runs in the 8th is going to bring out a few negative thoughts in anybody. He got the leadoff hitter out on one pitch, actually. The only real mistake was just not putting Kemp on with first base open.
