  1. Dodged group B...
  2. Group G has Germany and Ghana...
  3. No Group B or D, plz.
  4. You're scared he'll be the best reliever on the team?
  5. I probably have an active memory of maybe 10% of the opposing relievers I've seen against the Cubs. If that. And those are the guys that used to be on the Cubs.
  6. Can't say I've been too invested in recent Cubs-Astros game history, no. I don't understand vitriol about the move, though, but people will bitch about anything I suppose.
  7. Yep. I'd actually lean Kemp if we're talking "moves that get GMs fired". Trade Felix for Kemp?
  8. 6, including the actual head coach in the picture.
  9. Yep. Totally going to happen. http://i.imgur.com/X4JBtH4.png
  10. That's Ty Corbin, head coach of the Jazz.
  11. I love this picture.
  12. Basic odds based on October FIFA ratings: Odds that the USMNT will get in a group where they are one of the two best teams: 57% Odds that the USMNT will get in a group where they are the worst team: 4.8% Odds that the USMNT will get in a group where nobody is significantly (10+ spots) better than them: 63% Odds that the USMNT will get in a group where someone is significantly (10+ spots) worse than them: 50% (basically, 4 of the Pot 3 teams in Algeria, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Ghana)
  13. I got the USMNT advancing 6 times in a row, one of them hilariously in a Brazil-Holland-Portugal group and then defeating Spain, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil on their way to win the World Cup.
  14. Ogre would be a good fit. He was as a bigger failure at Ole Miss than Kiffen at USC. And the only reason that anybody is bringing his name up now is the order in which they went 6-2 with him as interim. Its pretty well documented the situations that Kiffen walked into at Oakland and SC. Im not saying hes a great coach, im saying he is a great hire for Illinois. If you would have told Kiffen hed be in Champaign five years ago hed have cut himself. Now hed take the job. I'm bringing his name up b/c I think he's a buffoon and I want to see him tank another program. How exactly does one tank Illinois's program? Tim Beckman...achieving the improbable.
  15. Of course, they're playing with entirely different playbooks, so it's not a 1:1 comparison. McCown's presence really limits what the Bears can do offensively in the system, but within each system, he's a safer bet. Risk/reward, mostly.
  16. Correct, it'll be a separate draw.
  17. Cubs non-tender relievers Daniel Bard and Chang-Yong Lim and infielder Mat Gamel. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/chc/chicago-cubs-sign-donnie-murphy-george-kottaras-tender-contracts-to-seven-players?ymd=20131203&content_id=64348092&vkey=news_chc 40 man roster is at 37.
  18. Oh, a Brazil-Italy-Netherlands-USA group would be fun.
  19. How do you have a league that allows this? Both of those teams should be kicked out of the playoffs and let the next batch in. One of the teams is the commish. I finally talked him into at least putting it to a league vote...so hopefully integrity prevails. Just realized my opponent has Romo, Witten, Murray and Dez Bryant. I'm not winning anyway.

  21. We only have 4 teams make the playoffs, so we have one more week. I'm currently sitting 5th at 7-6, with the highest point total in the league. The current 3rd and 4th place teams in the league are 8-5 play each other next week, and have already agreed to bench their entire lineups and tie, so both make the playoffs over me. I'd mind less if that wasn't going to cost me $50. Oh well, maybe I'll lose anyway and it'd be moot.
  22. Oddly enough, six of them are in the B1G/ACC, and none of them are playing each other.
  23. As of this morning, there are just 21 undefeated teams in Division 1: Ohio State, Pitt, Michigan State, Arizona, Wichita State, Syracuse, Villanova, Wisconsin, Connecticut, UCLA, Iowa State, Massachusetts, Oregon, Cincinnati, St. Mary's, Illinois, Missouri, Mississippi, Boise St., Toledo, and Utah.
  24. First time Kansas and Duke have lost on the same day since March 6, 2005.
  25. Illinois misses 3 of 4 FTs in the final minute to keep this terrible game interesting.
