  1. My bad Canada, I was unaware you had the forethought to know that South Africa would beat South Korea to finish second, so now it's Canada-South Africa in the round of 32.
  2. There's an even rarer scenario where Bosnia still ends up not finishing among the 8 best 3rd place teams.
  3. Oh Canada, instead of finishing first and getting 2 home games in the knockout round, they instead get to travel to LA to likely play South Korea in what would definitely be a road environment.
  4. https://bsky.app/profile/jdub9911.bsky.social/post/3mozwen6hrk2f
  5. What we know after 2 rounds: Mexico, USA, Germany and Argentina clinched their group. France, Norway and Colombia clinched the knockout round. Haiti, Turkiye, Tunisia, Jordan and Panama have been eliminated. 6 matches per day over the next 4 days with only 2 completely meaningless duds in USA-Turkiye and Argentina-Jordan. Most interesting games to watch should be France-Norway, Portugal-Colombia, Uruguay-Spain, Canada-Switzerland, Bosnia-Qatar, Paraguay-Australia, Cabo Verde-Saudi Arabia, Egypt-Iran and Croatia-Ghana.
  6. The Mavs are not a serious organization.
  7. I'd rather take my chances with a younger player with 6 years of NBA experience like Josh Giddey.
  8. I was wrong, the Bulls did not get May, because the Mavs are a much more serious organization.
  9. Juwan Howard redemption tour go? Seriously, though, I think you just promote from within at this stage in the game, maybe Mike Boynton, just to hold on to what you currently have on the roster.
  10. There is a very real chance Egypt wins Group G now, which affects the USMNT knockout round as they would line up to play that group winner in the round of 16.
  11. Tell me you didn't watch a minute of a soccer game without telling me you didn't watch a soccer game.
  12. Germany wins group E thanks to Ecuador being unable to score against Curacao. However, it might work in Ecuador's favor, as Germany will have nothing to play for against them and they need a win to advance.
  13. Question now is, do you just sit everyone on a yellow and rest Pulisic? That would mean playing the next game without Richards, Adams, Antonee Robinson, Balogun, and Pulisic, which could get ugly. However, the game is truly meaningless, as the USMNT has already won the group and get no additional credit for a third group play win.
  14. 62 shots for Turkiye so far this World Cup, 0 goals.
  15. USA wins Group D, Turkiye is eliminated. Only the USMNT's second time topping a World Cup group since 1930 (remember 2010?).
  16. Looking forward to some crazy number here for extra time. 10 minutes? More? Just 7, which means that was some successful CONCACAF-ing from Paraguay.
  17. Paraguay has spent the last 40 minutes trying to CONCACAF this match, they just don't have the experience.
  18. Haiti become the first team to be eliminated from the World Cup this year, as they're guaranteed to finish 4th in their group after Morocco beat Scotland and Brazil beat Haiti. As far as the knockout rounds go, the USMNT win today put them at about 85% to win the group, which would match them against a 3rd place team from one of groups B, E, F, I or J. Based on how the minnows are playing thus far, there's about a 70% chance they'll get the group B third place team, which would be whoever wins the Bosnia-Qatar matchup next week. In the adjacent matchup, it'll be the group G winner, who should be Belgium but they haven't exactly lit the world on fire so far. That team would be matched up against another 3rd place team, and Czechia is currently the favorite to land in that spot.
  19. Australian team really gooning it up right now.
  20. I am pleased that A Freeman scored for the US on Juneteenth.
  21. This would be my dream scenario for the Bulls draft: 1) Utah and Memphis get suckered in by measurables and go with Peterson and Wilson over Boozer. 2) Bulls draft Boozer 3) Clippers get suckered in by measurables and take Brown at 5 4) Bulls trade back into top 8 and get Wagler for something like #15, a 2028 top-4 protected pick, and Essengue Bulls end up with 2 players who dominated college last year that complement each other and Buzelis, and the rebuild can begin anew.
  22. I admit, this would make the Bulls an exciting watch next year... https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/the-bulls-reportedly-want-keaton-wagler-heres-how-they-make-it-happen/
  23. An SB Nation blogger used his writing to become the general manager of a team that just won the Stanley Cup.
  24. Still early, but South American teams off to a rough start so far, 0-2-1 through 3 games.
  25. Friendly reminder that if you're wondering how Jamaica, Costa Rica or Honduras didn't qualify for this World Cup in a year they never had to play the USA or Mexico, the answer is because Haiti beat them in qualifying without playing a home game (and then Jamaica lost in the playoff against DR Congo).
