  1. is that all? seriously tho, let's go horsefeathers 21-7 against these horsefeathers ass teams and get to 95. just out of curiosity, what was the ridiculous run the 2015 team went on over the past few weeks to actually get to 97? i remember it being pretty ridiculous (and i'm too busy righ tnow to do more than ask about it here) Cubs went 23-9 after Sept 1 that year. They were 74-56 heading into September. If you mean the overall second half run, the Cubs were 52-47 on July 28, and finished on a 45-18 run to end the year.
  2. Get rid of helmets. Seriously. Play with rugby-style padding, and they'd learn quickly that an improper tackle is bad news for everyone involved. Still a lot of contact, but full-on head-first bone-crunching tackles would be a thing of the past almost immediately.
  3. The posting history is documented proof of the dangers of tackle football. No further comment necessary.
  4. Of those 12 losses, only twice did the Cubs not have the potential tying run bat in the 9th: - a 6-2 loss in Arizona where the Cubs scored 2 in the 9th and Zobrist struck out to end the game with runners on first and third. - a 11-4 loss to the Cards that the Cubs led 3-2 in the 8th
  5. Dodgers fall to 89-36. If they win their next 27 games, they'd match the 1906 Cubs winning percentage.
  6. Monty has scored more runs, driven in more runs, and hit more HRs too.
  7. If I had to guess, I'd say that he returns on September 1 with Contreras.
  8. #MurderersThrow
  9. The Giants were eliminated from NL West contention today.
  10. On paper, it was an 85 win team before the season started...so they were drunk on koolaid long before that.
  11. you tell em dad Newborn babies cried less than page 2 tonight.
  12. Everyone that posted in the first two pages of this thread should be embarrassed.
  13. Kyle Seager wins the jersey name game. http://images.footballfanatics.com/FFImage/thumb.aspx?i=/productImages%2F_2884000%2Fff_2884363_full.jpg
  14. Put another way, if I had to build a 25 man roster for this year's postseason based on the combined current rosters of the Cubs and Cards, it'd probably be 24 Cubs and Carlos Martinez.
  15. Imagine how much older he'll be in a few years. Infinity older.
  16. Tommy Pham, all star OF of the future, is already a full 5 years older than Kyle Schwarber, washed up has-been.
  17. Someone needs a refresher on the meaning of the word fact.
  18. You seem to be assuming there was zero communication/coordination between the Cubs and Bartman prior to the simultaneous announcement and Bartman's prepared statement. The odds of that being true are miniscule. Psh, you know Theo drove past his house and Clark tied it to a brick (from Wrigley, AWWWWWWWW) and chucked it through his window. The real twist is that Bartman is Clark.
  19. I don't think the Cubs are slipping into the wild card, so they won't get the chance.
  20. Got tickets for the MLS all star game tonight. Should be a blast.
