    I mean, everyone who decided they should play for a draw to start the match should be fired immediately.

    Hated the lineup on Saturday but Pulisic, Wood and Altidore made up for the poor choices elsewhere. Today, Gonzalez was awful, the midfield was awful, Howard was bad, there was no connection from the back line to the forwards, the formation was off, and not having Pulisic in the middle hurt the team. Klinsmann was tactically bad in the Mexico-CR openers, Arena had awful personnel on the pitch to end it. Fab and Cameron are two of the best 5 players on the squad and they were nowhere to be seen.

    The first goal was unlucky, and the second was a fantastic strike, but everyone is terrible so far, particularly Howard and the CBs.

    Two rebuttals: 1. Both Mexico and Costa Rica can improve their FIFA ranking to get into a better selection pot in the WC draw, which is better than nothing. 2. If the USMNT can't at least draw T&T, they deserve nothing.

    Every team that has tried to get cute with their rotation in the playoffs so far has suffered as a result. The Indians didn't discover a new market inefficiency last year, they just rode an incredible string of fortunate pitching until they ran out of gas midway through the World Series. So far this year: - The Yankees went with Severino with the plan to go bullpen game at the first sign of trouble, and Severino got a single out. - The Astros went with Verlander in relief with runners on up 2-1 in the series and Verlander promptly relinquished the lead. - The Red Sox went with Sale in relief and couldn't make it work. - The Indians decided to hole Kluber to Game 2 and pitch Bauer on short rest in Game 4, and got no success from either plan. - The Diamondbacks decided to piggy back starters for the WC game and Game 1, and they're basically out of pitching midway through game 3 and are about to get swept. The Dodgers, Cubs and Nationals have basically gone business as usual with the 1-4 starters, and they're both the most well rested staffs, and have pitched the best.

    U-17's playing them as we speak. 0-0 in the 70th. At least they're getting better at beating Ghana.

    Well, at least the USMNT won't play Ghana yet again in the 2018 World Cup. Egypt advances over Ghana in CAF qualifying, making the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

    The wild card was added to make sure a great team didn't miss out on the postseason just for being in the wrong division. The wild card game was added to make sure winning the division still meant something. It's just the right amount of unfair.
