  1. yep i fell for that one too. I really hate Bruce Levine.
  2. i only read the first 5 pages of the thread, so don't shoot me if i post something that was already posted. with a salary that Eyre is going to be receiving, I would think he would become the setup man. I don't understand Jim Hendry, but paying over 3 mil a year to just be a loogy does not make sense, not even for Hendry's standards. I don't think Eyre will be too bad, but he's definitely not worth this price. Maybe Jim got the OK from upper management to increase payroll over the $30 mil he had to begin with...or maybe I'm just dreaming.
  3. updates on ESPN 1000 every 20 mins.
  4. your thinking of Carl Everett/Robbie Alomar
  5. Good luck Flames, and thanks for pulling us within one game of first in the division, even though we can't win it. :) Hope you guys win the MAC. It'd be awesome for our ego to know we dominated the MAC champion at their place. thanks..i have to admit, i was at that Ball St. game and no one thought we were going to beat both Central Michigan AND Toledo on the road after that loss to Ball St. NIU has played 2 real hard games and now we definitely control our own fate as all we have to do is beat Western Mich. At least we finally have the Toledo monkey off our back :)
  6. WE BEAT TOLEDO!!! I knew Wolfe would play and he was awesome :) the MAC West comes down to next Wednesday's afternoon game against Western Michigan. Kinda a weird time for a game, 12:30 central time. I definitely am skipping school next week to go to the Western Mich game. I can't wait :D
  7. this is hilarious. 84 million for 7 years? Glad I laughed today
  8. id rather see Eyre than Marte. Marte has good stuff, but 0 control. I don't want another guy in the bullpen that is like that, we have enough of those guys already.
  9. I have a feeling one of either Murton or Cedeno will be moved in this trade. Beinfest is a very good GM. They will want someone who is ML ready. I will listen to updates on the local sports radio down here in S. FL. I'll let you know if I here anything different. It'd better not be Murton, Cedeno, or Pie. I'm game for just about anyone else to be traded for Pierre. I don't think Murton and Cedeno are considered minor leaguers at this point, as they finished the season on the 25 man roster, and are projected to start next season on it as well. i agree with you, i'll add Hill in too as a player that better not be shipped out to Florida. also..mods could you please edit the title of this thread. Was a little bit too long
  10. on the 5:00 SportsCenter update on ESPN1000, it was reported that "the Cubs are trying to finish a deal to get Juan Pierre for a couple of minor leaguers." No word on who the minor leaguers are.

  12. Sweets over Songaila would be nice too.
  13. Dorsey Levens is available and Anthony Thomas was available up until last week  great news for the Bears that Benson did not tear up his knee. I would think Jones would be ready to go this Sunday. He had a whole extra week of rest, so I would be very surprised if he can not go against Carolina.
  14. once again the NIU-Toledo game is huge for us. For once, can we please beat them? Wolfe is questionable but I have talked to a few of their players and they think Wolfe is going to go. If Wolfe can go, I think we may be able to beat Toledo. Wednesday night at 6:30, temps are supposed to be around 30-35 degrees with rain/snow. That should give us an advantage, especially our defense, if we don't have to worry about Gradkowski throwing the ball much.
  15. chemistry going bad, locker room turmoil, Bears are going to blow it  they'll still win the division.
  16. And tied with the Giants at 6-3. If the Pack (fat chance, but they're up 14-0), Rams, and Jets (fat chance) can win, we'll be tied for the best record in the conference.. Of course, it probably won't matter once they hit the tougher part of the schedule, but you never know. If we can secure a first round bye, we'd have better odds of lucking into the SB... EDIT - also, as it gets later in the season, maintaining the lead is almost a victory in itself...Obviously, it'll get tougher and tougher to make up 2 games as we go deeper. I hope/expect we'll get to that New Year's game with more than a one game lead on the Vikes. next week begins the tough stretch for the Bears. We'll see how they come out against a good team like Carolina. The Bears have done what they needed to do though..beat the teams that they have to beat (with the exception of Cleveland). If they win 3 of their final 7, they have the division.
  17. They do gain ground on the Giants for home field, though. its not over yet...the Giants have played a god awful game yet they still have a chance to win.
  18. Bobby Wade again. This is unreal.
  19. just an awful throw by Orton. Thats a pick on any day, wind or no wind.
  20. holy crap!
  21. if Nedney makes this, it will be amazing.
  22. so much for those timeouts used.
  23. and now Lovie is wasting a challenge.
