  1. This team needs a shakeup.
  2. NIU has one awful team. The sad thing is that's paid attendance. One of my friend's who went to the game said that there was lucky to be 250 there. Even if there wasn't a snowstorm, they'd have been lucky to draw 1000.
  3. Tyrus was holding Bosh down before that last play. It was a good decision IMO. And the kid really needs to play more. I can't emphasize that enough. That fact probably pisses me off the most about Skiles this season.
  4. Simply awful. But maybe we can start trying 45 minutes earlier in the game tomorrow.
  5. Jamaal Tatum hit a 3 with a minute left giving SIU the lead for good as the Salukis pulled out a 51-47 win over Missouri State on the road. Not a pretty game by any stretch, but this, to me, was probably our most impressive win of the season. Tatum and Falker (20 and 12) were huge tonight. Butler next on Saturday. A win against the Bulldogs, and we could potentially be right outside the top 10.
  6. Not that bad of a trade. I didn't think JKR would ever amount to anything successful in the majors; maybe a 5th starter if he was lucky. He's a solid AAA pitcher, but I don't think his ceiling is much higher than that. And like others have mentioned, we have many other arms in the minors that have a better chance of reaching the majors than Ryu does. I think it's a decent move.
  7. Brian Carlwell is in critical condition after being a passenger in a car that Jamar Smith was driving. http://www.news-gazette.com/news/local/2007/02/13/illini_players_carlwell_smith_injured_in_car_accident Prayers go out to him and his family.
  8. 15th in the Coaches poll and 16th in the AP poll! :D
  9. I would be willing to bet that, at the start of the road trip, not too many people had the Bulls losing to the Kings and Warriors while beating the Suns. I had us losing all 3 of those, to be honest with you.
  10. Normally, I'd really like whatever is best for the Valley. But if we are able to sweep Missouri State by winning in Springfield on Tuesday and if we can take down Butler on Saturday, we have a realistic chance at a 3 seed.
  11. Haha, good to see I'm not the only one who does that. I do that as well.
  12. They are a very, very, very good team. Funk is, without a doubt, the best player in the MVC. It's not even close for who's second. Tolliver is a great big guy for them as well as he has an array of moves down low as well as being able to step out and hit a jumper. Their roles players are all very solid as well. They are going to be an extremely tough out in the tournament. I'm real surprised that we came away and won both games against them this season; especially at their place. WSU can beat them; they certainly have the shooters to get it done, but all of them are going to have to be on if you guys want to beat the Jays.
  13. Deng and Gordon each had 29 and Hinrich had 27. Great night for those 3. I'll take a 3-4 road trip. It could've been a lot better than that, but I'm not going to complain too much.
  14. Hinrich is having a big game tonight. 25 so far after his 3 that puts us up by 5.
  15. 20-2 run for Phoenix. Yay for Skiles and his lack of ability to make adjustments.
  16. Bulls lead 61-50 at half. Nice little run the final 2 minutes of the 2nd quarter to get the lead up to double digits.
  17. They'll probably have to win their last four regular season games - which would include two teams ahead of them in the MVC in Creighton and Missouri State - which would have them finishing the regular season at 21-9 overall and 11-7 in conference. They would probably have to win a couple games in the MVC tournament on top of that, to finish 23-10, and even that might not be enough. It's very possible the only way they get in to the tournament is as the MVC tournament champion. Don't forget winning their Bracketbuster game against Appalachian State is a must as well. But I agree. It's highly doubtful that they'll win out in the regular season, so their only way to get in would be to win the conference tournament.
  18. I don't care if Nash and Diaw are out. That was a solid first quarter for us. Keep it up.
  19. Rereading this thread for the IU/Illinois talk and saw this for the first time. My eyes lit up. Surely he's got to be done for the season, right? So he doesn't annoy just Iowa fans huh. :D Brent Musberger has to be disappointed. That guy has the biggest hard-on for Hightower.
  20. I had that game on but wasn't paying that close attention, and I heard the crowd not being pleased at all with the way things went at the end of the first half. It seemed to be no-calls that were getting people upset, I'd rather have that than a foul more than once a minute. It was a little of that as they were calling it very touchy when we were on defense, but Creighton did get away with a lot. Creighton did manage to shoot double the FT's that we did (32 to 16). Thankfully Shaw and Tatum were huge tonight.
  21. Just got back from the SIU-Cr8on game. And the game was just as good as I thought it would be. C75, I don't know about the worst refs ever in the Mizzou-Kansas game. We had some REAL awful refs. Thankfully, we were still able to pull out the 4 point win. 3 straight road games starting with Missouri State on Tuesday. Hopefully we can keep this streak going.
  22. Yes, you can rely on big men to win it down the stretch. That is, if you have big men who play like big men. Pruitt should've never had the ball in that final sequence.
  23. Why would you pass the ball to Pruitt at the FT line? Why would you give him the ball in that spot ever? The only time he should touch it is when he has a man sealed on the block. Exactly. I know Weber is a better coach than to draw that play up. But the whole team looked lost when Pruitt had the ball. There was no movement, no one was coming to him and trying to help him out, and it looked extremely unorganized. This team just does not have enough players to win games at the end. You can't rely on big men to win games for you at the end of the games. You need jump shooters towards the end of the game, and Illinois doesn't have any reliable shooters to do that.
  24. Why would you pass the ball to Pruitt at the FT line?
  25. This team SUCKS.
