  1. Walrond gives up a solo shot in the 3rd. 6 hits, 4 ERs, 1 K/0 BBs in 3 innings of work. Ouch. Iowa's hitters aren't doing any better as they don't have a hit through 3.
  2. Hopefully it is just a precaution. Walrond has given up 3 runs in 2 innings. Iowa trails 3-0 in the 3rd. Schappert was roughed up for 4 runs in the 2nd and Tennessee trails 4-0 in the bottom of the 2nd. Atkins just gave up a run in the 3rd. Daytona down 1-0 in the bottom half of the 3rd. Renshaw pitched a scoreless first. No score after a half inning of play.
  3. This is shaping up to be another one of those seasons where I'm a Joliet Jackhammers fan more than anything. Agreed. I spent more time, and saw better baseball, watching Hamlin Park (in lakeview) little league last summer. That's pretty awesome. As much as I despise Joliet as a municipality, Holy Cross stadium is nice, decent food, etc. There's that bar right there that several of the players patronize, which leads to some pretty funny exchanges and autographed Old Style bottles. I've heard great things abou Joliet Jackhammers stadium...I've never been. I've been there a couple of times. Pretty nice venue for a minor league stadium.
  4. Here's how Iowa lines up against Nashville: Pagan-CF Patterson-2B Fontenot-SS Hoffpauir-1B Hill-C Kinkade-LF Moore-3B Coats-RF Walrond-P Tennessee's lineup: Walker-CF Fuld-LF Fox-1B Robinson-C Cortes-RF Spearman-2B Cates-SS Salas-3B Schappert-P
  5. I'm the only one with a record over .500. Ugh.
  6. How bout Walrond replacing Miller...those are som solid stats so far this year.. Marmol and O'Malley are also off to equally impressive starts. We have a lot of options that are better than Miller that are in Iowa right now.
  7. Well deserved awards. Congrats to both of them :)
  8. Didn't we home in something like 8 straight games at the start of the season? ? the longest streak was 3 games from 4/5 to 4/7. The cubs have homered in 9 out of 18 games. They have hit a total of 14 good for 8th place in the NL. I really thought we'd be lower than that. The last two days have helped out.
  9. I knew this was going to be a long series. I think GS is probably one of the best 8 seeds in a long time. I have the Mavs winning the series, but Golden State is going to take them to the limit. Baron Davis was unreal tonight.
  10. I hate Posey, Wade, and Payton with a passion. But I don't hate them more than the Cardinals. They are definitely the team I hate the most in the NBA though. I don't watch the NBA, but why do you not like Wade? The main reason is because if you breath on him, it can be called a foul. Somebody should actually watch the NBA before coming up with a ridiculous question, and within one Heat game, that question would be answered. Wade's a classy guy, blah blah blah, but the Bulls are going to make him work for everything he gets this series. This is NOT the matchup he wanted. Okay, I don't watch the NBA on a regular basis. I think the NBA sucks, but I wasn't going to say that in this thread since it wasn't relevant. I have watched games from time to time. Personally I don't mind the Heat or Dwayne Wade. Does he get calls? Yes, but so did Michael Jordan. I suppose you didn't care that Jordan got those calls though because you were a Bulls fan. The calls Wade gets are beyond anything Michael got. I think he mentioned watching the NBA because last Finals, Wade got a foul call after hitting a fadeaway jumper and falling down literally untouched. It's almost reached a new level with him. The calls Wade gets are bad, but they are nothing like Jordan's, or even Shaq's calls for most of his career for example. Those 2 have been the worst in the last 20 years. I'll try to find those Youtube videos of the phantom foul calls, that he got in the Finals against Dallas last year, a little later. Some of them are laugh out loud pathetic. So you don't like him for something he does not even control. It's not his fault the refs give him calls. You should hate the refs....not Wade. What is he supposed to do? Tell the refs not to call fouls on the other team? I don't have a problem with him. I surely wouldn't say I hated him because the umpires give him a smaller strike zone. Yep, pretty much. That and how the media was grooming him as "just as good as MJ" last year in the Finals. Made me sick.
  11. It's an amazing feat. It's just too bad that the Red Sox were the ones to accomplish it.
  12. And that's after today's game. Besides Miller and Zambrano, the pitching has been the least of our worries. It's our offense's inability to score runs.
  13. We need a new team. Need to trade for Garnett. the lakers??? who do they have that would bring garnett in return? I'd probably guess Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and a couple of 1st rounders would be a start. It's not going to happen though. You're going to have to blow McHale's socks off if you want to get Garnett. And the only way the Lakers would do that is if they traded Kobe for Garnett.
  14. You mean to tell me the Cubs aren't the only team to make stupid moves?
  15. Can both teams please lose?
  16. Damn, couldn't find those videos. I did find this one though:
  17. Peoria also win 9-7 in 12. Blake Lalli drove in Lewis and Yusuf on a 2-run RBI double in the 12th. Charles Platt picked up his first win of the season.

  19. Better park condition would be Des Moines, Iowa. He has no options left, I don't think. He'd have to be DFA'd, which would probably be the best thing. Doesn't matter, nobody is going to pick him up. Even the Royals and Devil Rays don't need a pitcher who throws beach balls. Tampa might take a chance on him. They actually have a semblance of an offense this year and I think they'd take a chance on Miller. Lou sounded pretty pissed at Miller, so a DFA could be a possibility.
  20. Iowa ended up losing 2-1 in the bottom of the 10th as Ben Howard gave up 2 hits. Wasted a good effort from O'Malley who went 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 K/2 BBs. Bailey and Rapada were solid in relief allowing no runs in 3 innings. Fontenot was 2/4 with the homer and Soto was 2/4 with a double. EPatt was 1/5. And Jose Macias went 1/5 for Nashville! Peoria is tied at 7 in the 11th. Papelbon blew a 5-3 lead as he gave up 4 ERs in just 2 and a third. Muldowney had a pretty bad effort as well: 2 IP, 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 ER, 1 K/2 BBs. DJ Lewis had a solo homer. Every position player has a hit except Matt Camp and Yusuf. Tennessee up 3-0 in the bottom of the 7th. Holliman: 7 IP, 8 hits, 0 ERs, 5 Ks/0 BBs. Sounds like Marquis from yesterday. Salas had a solo shot and Jemel Spearman has 2 hits. Fox is 1/3 with a run. Still no Dope.
  21. Better park condition would be Des Moines, Iowa. He has no options left, I don't think. He'd have to be DFA'd, which would probably be the best thing. Even though Gooz had a bad outing last night, he can't be any worse than Miller.
