  1. Thibs has been all sorts of awful the last two games.
  2. Lucas isn't really a "cut to the basket" scorer though. Neither is CJ. They're shooters. Deng and Hamilton are the only guys that really can get any penetration at all. Pretty much. Deng moves great without the ball, but he's pretty limited when he has the ball in his hands trying to create his own shot. I think of Rip in the same mold too. He's more of a guy that relies on screens to free himself up to get good looks. The Bulls are severely lacking in guys that can create their own shot. That was extremely evident in the entire second half the other night.
  3. How do you figure that?
  4. Yuck. Unfortunately, that's probably what will end up happening.
  5. I'm not blaming Thibs at all for this. I don't think that's the right thing to do. Unbelievable that our season is [expletive] over already.
  6. Ted Thompson, I love you.
  7. I have no confidence in him and he doesn't deserve any confidence in anybody until he has a productive offseason. I'm getting the feeling that it'll be more of the same in the offseason, as they'll re-tool the 3rd and 4th lines with a bunch of old guys. If Vancouver keeps Schneider, I'd seriously try to get Luongo. They can't go into next season with the same bums in goal. Is Corey Crawford a Stanley Cup winning goaltender? If you're saying yes, you're not telling the truth.
  8. Seriously, what can be done about the PP? Toews, Kane, Sharp, and Hossa and the PP sucks? It's got to be coaching and scheme, no? Dead last in the playoffs (granted missing Hossa for most of the series) and 26th in the regular season? Having a point man to run the PP is pretty important. The Hawks missed that all season long. Atrocious entries and bad puck movement will result in a really bad power play.
  9. Bolland's the definition of a guy. It's unfortunate that we didn't trade him when his value was as high as it was.
  10. Basically, the Hawks got beat by a team with inferior forwards and defensemen. But goaltending still matters a little bit in this league, and that matchup in this series was a decisive blowout. Get a damn goaltender.
  11. No. Stan Bowman doesn't believe in goalies.
  12. That's the vibe I'm getting too.
  13. I wouldn't be opposed to it.
  14. The biggest need is a capable goalie right now. I'm not a huge fan of spending big cash on a goaltender, but Crawford was one of the worst starting goaltenders in the league this year. That's a position that needs to be addressed somehow in the offseason. The biggest need of this team is to figure out how to score on the pp. all that high priced talent and stars and they are collectively incompetent. Goalies come and go. They need a point man for the PP. Part of Bowman's problem has been getting rid of guys that have a defined role on the team, and then not finding an adequate replacement for the guy that he ships out. I totally understood the reasoning behind the Campbell trade. I even thought it was necessary going forward. I thought Hossa could've manned the PP unit, but they hardly ever went that route this year. Once they find the right guy to run the PP, I think they'll be pretty good there.

  16. Continuing with the defensive theme, the Packers select George Iloka, safety out of Boise State.
  17. Corey Schneider should be priority number one in the offseason. I think it's apparent that last year was a fluke for Crawford.
  18. Exactly. It doesn't make much sense to me that a guy with a PBP background is relegated to doing color for Keith [expletive] Moreland. Sirott probably stinks too, but the Cubs last couple of guys in his role have gone on to have really nice PBP jobs elsewhere in the majors.
  19. There has to be some, but I honestly can't remember ever seeing him missing a game tie/game winner except for free throws Missed one vs Charlotte last year. His first two years, he missed quite a few game tying and winning shots. He's been money more often than not the last two years. Just take care of business against the bad teams left on the schedule and the 1 seed will be ours.
  20. Looks like the 03-04 Pistons are back defensively.
  21. For the love of god, win this damn game.
  22. Packers select Bruce Irvin, OLB out of West Virginia.
  23. Exactly. As long as they win tomorrow, it's all good. I still think the Hawks win the series in 6. Hjalmarsson was unbelievably awful last night, but I guess that's just par for the course for him nowadays.
  24. That's damn good.
