  1. He can't stay healthy. I'm sure you could do better than that. I wouldn't be so sure the Bears could do better. But they should at least try. I'd rather go for one of the guys that is young and going to be cut. Hell, I'd rather go after another Frank Omiyale project. A guy that's been on the bench for his first 4 years and give him a chance to show if he can start in the league. Clifton will be 36 before next season and played 6 games. He's still decent when he's on the field, though. Oh, no doubt. He's a really productive LT when he's healthy, but I wouldn't bet on him staying on the field for more than 12 games next year.
  2. He can't stay healthy. I'm sure you could do better than that.
  3. I treated that Northwestern game like I did an Illinois game. I've always rooted for Northwestern, but I'll blame Bruce for making me root even harder for them this year.
  4. Stan Pat Bowman!
  5. 0 for our last 36 on PP's and 0 for 2 on PK's tonight. The special teams play by this team has been about as bad as you could expect. Awful.
  6. wtf is a Helms title?
  7. After what happened in Columbia at the end of the game a few weeks ago, there was no doubt that Kansas was going to get the benefit of close calls at the end of this game. Again, college basketball officiating is monumentally awful. That should come as a surprise to nobody.
  8. What does that say about Morrison? That he sucks. I know we didn't really give anything up for him, but that was a bad move.
  9. What? Athleticism? I don't think the Mavericks, Lakers, and Celtics have been all that athletic the last few years and they've been just fine. I'd like to see another guy that can score easily, but that's obviously pretty tough to find. I'm still not seeing why the Lakers would trade Gasol for Boozer and garbage.
  10. I have a hard time understanding how anyone can harbor this kind of hate for NU. They've been too irrelevant to hate and to tell the truth, I'd kind of like to see them make it. But at worst I'm indifferent about the Wildcats. I definitely understand how Iowa fans dislike Northwestern. Anyone else, not so much.
  11. Typical Northwestern.
  12. One of my friends tried telling me that this Mizzou team was better than the 04-05 Illini team. Yeah, about that.
  13. I haven't watched one second of the Illinois game. Thanks Bruce!
  14. I don't know when we're going to score a PP goal next. This is bad.
  15. Bilas ripping the B1G refs was the highlight of that game.
  16. That's because it was a [expletive] call. Dude flopped like his name was Bill Laimbeer. Yeah, that was a horrible call. He was already falling backwards when contact was made. That's the definition of flopping.
  17. Rush back? He could have played today based on his quotes before the game. Thibs went from being the most aggressive coach in terms of players playing through injuries to one of the most conservative in the blink of an eye. What happened? Does anyone remember why Paxson and Del Negro had a physical confrontation? Because VDN played Noah more minutes than the limit that Pax had set for him coming back from an injury. He obviously takes the extremely cautious route when it comes to injuries. I really believe that GarPax had a chat with him and told him that to treat the franchise carefully. So now Thibs is being overcautious with Rose. Maybe they even had a fist fight. Rose is the type of guy that says he could play if he couldn't walk, so I'm not going to pay too much attention to his quotes before the game. I'd like to see Rose rest the final two games before the break and rest during the break. Get an additional week and a half of rest before he comes back. Back injuries aren't something that you should [expletive] around with. I think you're reading too much into a possible confrontation. Between a bad toe and a bad back, you have to be cautious with Rose if you want any chance of winning playoff games in May and, hopefully, June. He's not a dumb guy.
  18. Kubina traded to the Flyers. Meanwhile, Bowman continues to stand pat.
  19. The worst part about this game is that Rose will more than likely try to rush himself back and play on Monday.
  20. Well this has been a terrific start.
  21. That play by Toews was sensational.
  22. Rasheed might have been the only true star on that Detroit team, but everyone knows that Billups, Rip, Prince, and Ben Wallace rounded out one of the most complete starting fives in recent memory. I agree about the Spurs and Mavs. You're going to have to hope that the role players catch fire and as evident by last year, it can happen.
  23. I understand he has that he-shouldn't-be-scoring-that-many-points-against-my-team-because-he's-not-that-good quality to him. I hate those types of players with a passion unless they play for a team I root for. I don't understand where how he comes across as a douchebag. Maybe I'm too close to the situation? The soft comment he made is kinda douchetastic I guess (although I find it pretty funny personally). He just looks like a guy that I wouldn't really get a good first impression of, if I ever met him in person at some place. Chase Kramer was another guy from Purdue that I couldn't stand just because he had that douchebag persona about him. Keep in mind that I have no ill will towards Purdue either.
  24. DJ Byrd just appears to be a giant douchebag, so I wasn't surprised at all to hear that he was arrested last night. True bro right there.
  25. In fact, Miami was 21-19 against teams that were .500 or better last season. As long as you go a little bit better than .500 against the decent teams, you'll set yourself up nicely for playoff positioning. You shouldn't get discredited for having the mark the Bulls do against bad teams, especially this season when there are so many terrible teams in the league this season. Miami's mark this year against good teams is very impressive but the Bulls went 25-13 last year against teams with winning records. Obviously once the playoffs start, the only thing that matters is how you match up with the team you're playing. Feasting on the bad opponents is key in a regular season and the Bulls have done a fantastic job of that this year.
