  1. That's definitely part of the problem, but yeah, it shouldn't take much for them to be in playoff contention next year. the problem is, what exactly does playing for the 8 seed with Miami, Detroit, Charlotte, Orlando, etc. really accomplish? you're still nowhere near actually being competitive enough to compete with actual teams, and you're just going to be hurting your chances by picking in the teens instead of potentially a top 5 pick. if they end up getting a non-Zion/Morant/Barrett guy this year, the two tank years would have resulted in Wendell Carter and someone like Cam Reddish. to me, that doesn't exactly paint these last couple of years as a success.
  2. Even better is how the Cubs completely whiffed or didn't even bother trying to trade for ANY of the baller players the Marlins were dumping. yep, any of the Marlins OF'ers made sense to trade for and instead, they let their two biggest threats acquire them. :good:
  3. Charles the cat can kiss my ass.

  5. this organization is such a dumpster fire
  6. look at the bright side, at least people can stop giving that cat account any attention.
  7. with what money
  8. Saturday Night with Ryan Dempster and Sunday Brunch with Ryan Dempster? The Ryan Dempster talk show style sessions really are fun live (at least when I went in 2016). Surrounded by people having a good time, seeing the Cubs have a good time. Since then they’ve seemed less so. Maybe because I’m not there live, maybe because the Schlick wears thin, or maybe because you guys make me awful and ruin everything. I think it's probably just the fact that Ryan Dempster is quite bad in general.
  9. I was reluctant to want them to sign Yu last offseason for this very reason, but people did make a good point that the Cubs wouldn't have signed him had it taken them out of Bryce Harper. So, something for sure changed. It might have been PTR telling Theo he can't sign another six figure free agent because he's been [expletive] the bed on those, or PTR being just PTR. it absolutely had to be PTR changing his stance because there's no horsefeathering way Theo would've signed Darvish & Chatwood last year, if it meant they couldn't sign Bryce horsefeathering Harper this offseason.
  10. This *costs* Cincy quite a bit of money for 2019. How long is Kemp’s deal? FA after 2019, I think.
  11. and there are people in this very thread who actually defended this racist family. lol.
  12. imagine making Fred Hoiberg look competent. what an organization.
  13. aka, PTR wants to avoid the luxury tax.
  14. so this is what, the fifth head coaching hire that Paxson will preside over since he's been here? how many more will he be able to preside over before he finally retires, since everyone knows he has the longest leash imaginable? 6? 7? 10? This organization has been a complete joke for the better part of 20 years. I really don't think that's going to change any time soon with the same power structure still in place for the foreseeable future either.
  15. because he's not a particularly great coach. Sure, now they're injured, but that seems like a pretty convenient excuse for him. Up until a couple of weeks ago, they were actually one of the healthier teams in the league for once. I think it's pretty clear that there's a strong disconnect between him and Rodgers right now, and that's weighing down the offense pretty heavily. Also, there's no reason the offense should be as mediocre as they have been with Rodgers, Adams, Jones, and one of the better OL's in the league. Rodgers hasn't been himself this year either, but the offense has been really pedestrian for the better part of the last few years, going back to 2015. I think if Rodgers didn't break his collarbone last year, he could've been fired last year. they fired everybody else on the staff, with the exception of him. they probably should have just done away with him last year too.
  16. Win out and lose in the playoffs, while McCarthy keeps his job, is pretty much the worst case scenario. i'll take a hard pass on that.
  17. yeah, this is pretty much how I feel. I guess I also don't get why both Bowman and Q kept their jobs after last season. And I really don't get why Bowman gets a chance to dig out of his own grave while Q didn't. Sure, Q had some really frustrating moments with his preference for veterans over skilled, young guys. But, honestly, when's the last time Bowman made a good move -- signing or trade? Drafting DeBrincat? Signing Panarin? I guess his best trade the last few years was being able to get a first round pick from Nashville for Ryan Hartman at the deadline last year. Every other trade and signing have either had a neutral, or negative effect to the roster. It's tough for me to blame the coach when there are like 5 actual good players on the roster, but that's just me.
  18. I gotta admit, I'm pretty annoyed & frustrated that the billionaire, pro-Trump loving owner is penny pinching when two of the best hitters in baseball are free agents.
  19. Adam Amin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Neil Funk
  20. pretty damn on point. I wish I could be excited about the young guys on the team but I just feel like there is no overall direction so its hard for me to turn the games on. Maybe I'm just older and don't have more time for crap teams, but the post-Jordan years I ate up the rebuild, obsessed over the young talent and imagined how good they would be and then the 04-05 team happened which is one of my favorite non-contending sports teams ever. This time around my thought is 'wake me up when they're competitive again' yeah, I think it's all of that for me too. I loved the 04-05 team, and also the Rose MVP team -- probably my two favorite non-title teams in any sport. But I think a large part of that had to do with how awful the Bulls were from 99-05, coupled with how young we were. And then the Rose MVP team was just fun because I was sucked into thinking that they were actually a legitimate contender. Let's say the Bulls tank for another couple of years and then end up as a 4 or a 5 seed three years from now. There's not a chance in hell I'd be as excited as I was back in the 04-05 season. Especially with the same brass presiding over this organization for the last 15 years and counting. If they don't end up even contending for any of the top FA's in the summer this year, I have honestly no idea wtf this team's plan is going forward for the foreseeable future. That's a problem. And everyone knows that Reinsdorf isn't going to fire anyone either, so status quo is just going to continue to reign.
  21. This about sums up my feelings toward this organization too -- https://www.blogabull.com/2018/10/18/17955690/chicago-bulls-season-preseason-2018-19-jabari-parker-zach-lavine-john-paxson?fbclid=IwAR3Xi-1WwslTAGasiNMG3JbRRuQ4FQFVIsyGBErbrF5_B5ty2c7f-DwfXEM
  22. cut his ass right now.
