  1. 5-5 is probably the best 10 game stretch that Skiles has started with in his coaching career.
  2. If he never shot jumpers, he'd be a decent player to have. The jumpers that he shot today were absolutely atrocious. Rose set him up perfectly for some wide-open 19 footers and he threw up some of the most ridiculous shots that you'll ever see in a NBA game.
  3. Ummm...Hell of a comeback :good: Everyone's laughing when you're playing Troy.
  4. It will never end. After the Gordon debacle things will never be the same. If you don't think an Illini fan can hold a grudge just ask an Iowa fan. Welcome to at least thirty years of hatred and pissing matches. If we ever win a title I think that will fade away too. Indiana took just one player. Iowa tried to railroad our program. By taking that one player, IU did railroad our program. Luckily it appears we have recovered, and they came out of the whole situation with a whole lot of egg on their face. Anyone know when the NCAA ruling is due? Not really. No matter what, EJ was one and done. And even with Gordon, Illinois probably only goes as far as IU did last year. So Gordon and Sampson weren't even close to "railroading Illinois' program."
  5. He certainly is sensational. Huge win for us before we go on the circus trip. If we are able to pull two of the seven out, I'll be happy.
  6. Yeah, I've grown pessimistic of this game. I guarantee McCarthy is going to come out like a total buffoon and he'll run the ball 20 times tomorrow. I don't really see how the Packers are going to win this game.
  7. Once again; pay Ben Gordon.
  8. Trades can fix things, but they are extremely complicated to make, and typically involve getting stuck with a bad contract in return for improving your team. Yeah, you're correct. Still, I'd be very disappointed if we let Gordon walk away for nothing while we continue to stay on the hook for guys like Hinrich, Noc, and Deng.
  9. We're not "stuck" with anything. We can do these things called trades, you know. It'll be an absolute joke if we gut this team and the only holdovers besides Rose will be Deng, Hinrich, and Nocioni. Talk about bad.
  10. They forced it to OT, but I knew they had to get a TD when they were inside CMU's 10 with that little time remaining. They've been competitive in every game they've been in, save the Ball St. game, so that's an improvement. Unfortunately, this is a senior-oriented team so I don't really see this team doing too much more next year. Luckily both the QB and RB positions are manned by underclassmen, so that won't be a problem. But all of NIU's good WR's are seniors and Larry English is going to be gone. Next year is probably going to be another rebuilding year for NIU.
  11. Kevin Dillard is going to be a ton of fun to watch for 4 years here. He was absolutely ridiculous in the 2nd half as he buried four 3s to pull us back from an 11 point deficit against UMass. Carlton Fay is having a great start to his sophomore season as he scored 5 huge points late in the game to give SIU the lead for good. He finished with 17 and Mullins had 16, 13 assists, and 4 boards. We were real bad in the first half but we were awesome in the 2nd half. I'm probably going to have to get used to this because of all the true freshman we have playing for us. Now we play Duke next week at the Garden. I'm just hopeful that we give them a game.
  12. Deng actually did ok tonight - 19 and 10. But please stop shooting 21 foot jumpers. That's not your game. Sounds like the defense really played terrible tonight. Rose, Gordon, Deng, and Noc all put up good offensive numbers. Too bad Tyrus and Noah fell asleep at the wheel tonight.
  13. Are the Packers done if they lose this game? We'd be on life support.
  14. not at all, but they're not great either. probably 9-7 and either miss the playoffs or lose in the first round. You guys don't suck, you just faced the best team in the NFL. Print those Giants-Titans Super Bowl tickets already and save us the final few months of unimportant football. I would be perfectly fine with that. It'd be nice if we could get a rematch with you guys, but of course, that's too much to ask for.
  15. Barnett's out for the season after sustaining a knee injury in yesterday's game. Normally, that would be a big deal, but he's had his worst year of his career this year and he has been a big part of why we haven't been able to stop the run this year. Desmond Bishop blew a coverage that resulted in Chester Taylor catching a 50 yard TD pass yesterday, so our pass coverage from our LB's will downgrade a little bit. But he's a better run-stuffer than Barnett is. I really don't know what to expect from this team. We have played much better than our 4-5 record indicates as we have been tied or have had the lead in every game in the 4th quarter this season with the exception of the Cowboys game. McCarthy was a great coach last year in close games but he's been exceptionally bad in just about every single close game we've had this season. I'm sure you guys feel the same way about the Bears and Lovie in close games this season. Our offensive line is going to probably get murdered by your defensive line. Like the Bears last season after their great run the year before, our offensive line hasn't been the same. That solely relies on the veterans Clifton and Tauscher regressing in an enormous way. If Rodgers gets a little bit of time, I think we'll have success throwing the ball. But I expect McCarthy to get very stubborn with the running game against one of the best rush defenses in football, as he usually does. Regardless, the winner of this game will be in the driver's seat for the division and if we win, I think that sets us up very nicely beause our schedule gets progressively easier down the stretch.
  16. not at all, but they're not great either. probably 9-7 and either miss the playoffs or lose in the first round. You guys don't suck, you just faced the best team in the NFL. Print those Giants-Titans Super Bowl tickets already and save us the final few months of unimportant football.
  17. We're going to lose by three touchdowns. 87.8% Cal Poly over UC Davis. Cal Poly's favored by 17 points. you can really do this for i-aa? what about the holy cross game? 57.7% Lafayette over Holy Cross. Lafayette favored by a little over two points. What about the SIU-South Dakota St. game?
  18. This team could just as easily be 7-2... We definitely should be 6-3, there's no question about that. If McCarthy has half of a brain, we run the ball a couple times last week when we were at the Titans 45 with 2 minutes left to get in FG range. And if he was less conservative today at the end of the game, we win today. The Bucs game was a game that we easily should've won too until Flynn came in for one of the worst drives that I've ever seen. Today wasn't a must-win game, but it would've really helped us, especially if we were to win next week. Now next week becomes a must-win for both the Packers and the Bears. Luckily, the Vikes have to go to Tampa to play the Bucs so by this time next week, we could have a three-way tie for first in the North.
  19. The Titans don't blow anybody out.
  20. These last two weeks have been pathetic.
  21. Tavaris Jackson is the worse QB in the league, thats how lol. Jackson's better than Frerotte IMO.
  22. Uh, wow. I just saw the replay of the Blackmon return during the Bears game. That was one of the most impressive runbacks you'll ever see.
  23. Funny, Longwell couldn't even come close to hitting 54 yarders in Green Bay. 5 years later with Minnesota, he's drilling them with ease.
  24. Why does MSU jump Ball State for beating Purdue when the team BSU beat (NIU) would probably destroy them? Lather, rinse, repeat for Florida State. Eh, I don't think NIU beats Purdue, much less destroys them. Tennesee lost to Wyoming and Minnesota lost at home to Michigan. NIU lost to those two teams by a couple of points. Those look like pretty bad losses now for the Huskies. I don't think they'd beat Purdue.
  25. Wait, what? He'd be my 3rd, maybe even 4th choice on the Bulls. Yeah, Gordon was yesterday's MVP too. Both Rose and BG had identical stat lines in assists and boards except Gordon also scored 7 more points compared to Rose.
