  1. Exactly. I don't really understand what some of you are expecting. some of us expected that a playoff core plus two or 3 years of high draft picks wouldn't equal regression They were 33-49 last year. I think they'll be better than that this year. That does not equal regression. Like UMFan said, the East has gotten significantly better over the last two years compared to the Bulls 49 win season in 06-07. All of his points he made were valid ones. Just wait until 2010 happens and go from there. I still think this team can contend for a 7th or 8th spot in the East, which would be more than fine with me. I'd rather miss the playoffs and roll the dice in lottery. why get locked out of the lottery with a first round route at the hands of Boston or Cleveland? Unless we get Blake Griffin, trade that pick.
  2. Exactly. I don't really understand what some of you are expecting. I don't see the Bulls making the playoffs. I want them to tank and get a good draft pick. Boers and Bernstein made a good point - the Bulls need a revamped team. When the Bulls finally made it to the Eastern Conference playoffs, no one on the team when Jordan first joined was left. Deng isn't going anywhere and I could live with Noc, but everyone else needs to go. The offense cannot go through Gordon. When I look at the upcoming players in the draft, I don't see much. I didn't know Rose and Beasley until late in the season, but I don't follow college basketball. I hear Ohio State has a good young center. Is Rose your Eastern Conference All Star starting PG? Tank for what? Next year's draft class is pretty poor. I want to trade that pick no matter what, unless we were to land number one for the second year in a row.

  4. Essentially no. Utah over BYU, Nevada over Boise, and your boys at UM must all win this weekend for there to be one. Without looking at the standings, wouldn't BYU jump you with the win? Ball St. needs BYU to lose so they'd jump ahead of BYU.

  6. You obviously weren't around for the Corey Benjamin, Calvin Booth, and Rusty LaRue years.
  7. Thomas, Noah and Rose or Aldridge, Hawes and a mid round pick last year. I know what you are saying though. Horrible picks. I don't get mad at these games, as long as Rose plays well. It's a funny feeling to mentally punt a season but at the same time have a crap load of interest in it. I loved, loved, LOVED the 04-05 Bulls. I honestly don't think I gained more enjoyment from a regular season than that team, Cubs included. I loved the players, everything about them. Fast forward all 4 years, and I could care less about any of them besides Rose. Can't stand Hinrich, dislike Deng, am meh about Gordon, etc. Yeah, I loved that 04-05 team too. Curry was finally starting to perform at a high level, the defense was absolutely unreal, and everyone on that team just wanted to win each and single game. It really was something to watch, especially considering how crappy these last couple of years were. Sure we may have won more games in the 06-07 season, but that 04-05 team was much more fun to watch IMO. I find it quite amusing that Aldridge is tearing Tyrus a new one.
  8. Make OT longer than 5 minutes. Heck, make it even 20 minutes and just have OT be sudden-death. If it's still tied after 20 minutes, then have a shootout to settle the score. I just think that the 5 minute overtime is too short as it is right now. A good percentage of games that go OT go to the shootout because there really isn't enough time in OT to get many scoring chances.
  9. Noah is what everyone thought he was going to be. He's a defensive guy that doesn't have much of an offensive game. I didn't like the pick at first because I was really hoping that we'd trade that pick that year in a package involving KG or Pierce. He was pretty decent last year when he got more playing time in the 2nd half of the year. I dislike Thomas a whole lot more than Noah. But at least it looks like TT can be a half-decent garbage time player.
  10. This would be an awesome trade. We'd have cap space (Raef I think its an 11m expiring) to make a run at Boozer or even Kobe if he opts out, and we could resign Gordon if he keeps playing well. Don't forget Gooden expires after this year too. I think this would leave us a bigger players in the 2010 class (the LeBron, Wade, Bosh one). Hughes' contract comes off the shelves then as well and if we could find a way to trade Nocioni by then, we'd be looking real good to make a run at one of those guys.
  11. I think Golden State and Philadelphia are more than winnable games for us. That's it? This is going to suck again then. San Antonio without Parker and Ginobili is a winnable game too.
  12. Well that gives me a little more hope that we can possibly upset Duke on Thursday.
  13. If anyone wants the link to a stream, PM me. I'm trying to write a paper and watch this at the same time. This has been one of the best hockey games that I've seen.
  14. Or not. I think that head referee had some money on this one.
  15. Tennessee sure seems interested in coaches that don't employ much of an offensive strategy.
  16. Well they didn't lose. So what happens to those that picked the Eagles?
  17. I might be going to the Illinois-Northwestern game. I'm sure that's going to be fun to watch (lol). What an awful season. SIU tries to win the MVC for the first time in a few years as they can win the conference with a win over Illinois St. on Saturday. We'd still get a spot in the playoffs even if we were to lose, but if we win, we'd get the auto-bid and we'd get at least the first round game in the playoffs at home. I can't believe we're 8-2 right now after we lost Kill to NIU.
  18. I think Golden State and Philadelphia are more than winnable games for us.
  19. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd win this game by 34 points. Both our offense and defense were sensational today. AJ Hawk as the MLB was really impressive to watch today. Perhaps we should've listened to Aikman and tried that sooner while playing Barnett at the weak-side LB position. And why are people complaining about their team's records since they were alive? Everyone outside of Chicago would've thought that you were crazy if you even considered the Bears were to have a .500 record after the 10th game of the regular season. All I know is that it's going to be a fun final month and a half in the regular season.
  20. hey bruno, does deron know who ej is yet? haha, i'm kind of kidding. Huh? i just remember a response you gave me last year when i was talking about deron williams's reaction to being asked about ej gordon. he said, "i don't know who that is", and you told me "he will very soon." ej is going to be a very good player in the league, though. Ahhh, gotcha. I wasn't being a jerk, didin't remember it until you mentioned that. I think Deron Williams is great, always have. The only player that I didin't think was worth all the accolades was Frank Williams. That has gotten me in trouble with many Illini fans. Frank Williams was a pretty special college player. I don't know how you think otherwise.
  21. The best thing about Rose is that he's starting to knock down long-range jumpers and even 3-pointers now. I knew his jumper would improve over time, but it's already improving as we speak right now.
  22. 4 of the first 5 plays are runs then a 3 yard pass on 3rd and 8. I love you Mike McCarthy.
  23. Especially considering they picked the wrong horrible in the '90s Chicago team to bail on. At least they were good enough to go .500 in picking '90s Chicago teams. http://homepages.luc.edu/~ehurnes/playoff_jordan61598d.jpg I miss those days
  24. For the uninformed, Mark was born and raised in the Chicago area, but because the Bears were so bad in the 90s, he decided to become a Packers fan. What a tool ;) Hey, sounds like me and basically every other Chicagoland Packer fan that's around our age.
