  1. There has been talk of them going to the MWC. That move would make a lot of sense. I'm confused as to how it would. Does the MWC have better exposure, or would it just make more sense geographically? It has it's own network now in addition to games on Versus and the ESPN family, as opposed to just ESPN games in the WAC. It'd be a huge competitive step up too, with TCU, Utah, and BYU, they'd make a pretty strong top tier for a 10 team non-BCS conference. Geographically, it certainly makes sense and there's no question that the Mountain West is a huge step up from the WAC. With the addition of Boise State, the Mountain West would already be better than a few BCS conferences.
  2. You won't. I love what Ball St. has done this year, but I believe that this year's Boise team is better than the team that won the Fiesta Bowl two years ago. I really don't think that game would be much of a contest.
  3. Not a great win by any stretch, but you'll take the win anyway you can get it. It was an extremely ugly game from what I saw of it.
  4. There has been talk of them going to the MWC. That move would make a lot of sense.
  5. Can we please get rid of the Lions on Thanksgiving Day?
  6. Can people stop complaining that this team isn't fun to watch now? At least watch this team for Derrek Rose. That was another amazing performance. And that finish was quite ridiculous too. Two wins on the circus trip and I think San Antonio and Philadelphia are still there for the taking too. Not bad at all.
  7. In honor of our amazing pass defense that I've heard about so much this season, I've decided I'm going to post just like they're playing tonight. Congrats on the division, Bears/Vikings. We're just too inconsistent this year.
  8. Pretty big that Reggie Bush is going to be out. One less element to worry about...hopefully. We need this game badly.
  9. Fitz has really molded together a very good defensive unit.
  10. They pointed out during the game that he was there because Trai Essex was there. Mendenhall said he wouldn't attend an Illinois game for the forseeable future after Zook didn't move his brother up in the depth chart.
  11. Yep. I also loved the shot that Lundquist took at Urban Meyer when Ole Miss was kneeing the ball at the LSU 2 yard line.
  12. Oh and btw, whoever #75 is on Wisconsin is a moron. Celebrating like his team won the National Title game against Cal Poly. Awesome.
  13. 3 missed PAT's. Seriously?
  14. I used to love that board, but there are just so many intolerable posters on there now. And I absolutely agree with you. I'm very pleased with the start of the season. If we can find a way to win a couple more games on the circus trip, I'll be feeling pretty confident about the direction this team is in.
  15. lol ND.
  16. The ugliest 28 yard FG that you will ever see.
  17. You play like 4 frosh. These games are only going to make you better. I would want no part of you come March. Yeah, that's my attitude towards these games as well. Plus Carlton Fay has been absolutely amazing so far to start the season. But Tony Boyle does indeed suck. Like illiniguy said though, I think these games will only help us in a pretty weak MVC this year.
  18. SIU won the MVC today, but boy it was close. We took a 10-3 lead with 1:05 left, but ISU drove right down the field to tie the game up to send it to OT. In OT, we converted on a 3rd and 14 play from the 29 for a touchdown. Then on 4th and 1 at the 2, the defense held ISU and got the stop and the conference title. We've definitely had our share of close, nail-biting games this season. Hopefully that pays some dividends once the playoffs start next week. And lol @ Wisconsin.
  19. 2-0 on the circus trip. At least one of the Chicago teams knows how to get it done on the road. Good win.
  20. I doubt UCLA will be be giving SIU a "beatdown." Should be a close game. Probably, I'm just agitated right now - much like I'm sure you are. Like I said earlier, I didn't think we'd beat Duke, but I'm also really pissed at the way we closed that game out. That final score looks really deceiving.
  21. Pretty disappointing final 8 minutes in the SIU game. We got within 5 until that play happened where Duke saved the ball 3 times and drew a foul. We just folded after that. Very painful finish to that game. I'll be driving back home tomorrow, so I won't have to witness the beatdown that UCLA is going to give us.
  22. SIU-Duke about to tip off in an hour. This is probably the most excited the campus has been for a game since the Sweet 16 game against Kansas a year and a half ago. As long as it's not like the beatdown that USC gave us last year in the final of the preseason tournament in California, it'll be fine with me. I'm hoping that we can just give them a game tonight.
  23. Nowhere did I say that this was acceptable tonight. But some of you are making it seem like it's the end of the world.
  24. When you have a lineup of Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha, Aaron Gray, Lindsey Hunter, and Andres Nocioni in the game, things like that tend to happen.
