    Oh for heaven's sake. I don't have any problem with it. You can never have too much pitching, but it sounds like this is a pipe dream anyway.

    The home plate umpire was extremely bad both ways today. And yeah, that was a strike to Soriano but whatever. Linebrink was throwing straight fastballs right down the middle, so you get what you bargain for.

    Jesus, Brey. You already play one of the easiest non-conference schedules year in and year out and you still find a way to choke away NCAA bids, yet you still take shots at other conferences? The guy sure has brains.

    In his defense, he's been a part of some terrible organizations since he left the Cubs. Baltimore, Cincy, and now Washington. It's pretty tough to change bad habits when you have coaches from any of those organizations teaching you how to get better at baseball. I hope he can turn it around and stay in baseball for a few more years.

    That was a gigantic win. Hopefully coming back the way we did will give this offense a much-needed spark. To score 5 runs in 2 innings off of two of their best arms in the bullpen was huge. Now we have a bad Cleveland team coming to town, so we absolutely need to take care of business this weekend.

    Well this sucks but if anyone's surprised about this, they were living in a fantasy world.

    Fukudome had one of his best games at the plate in a while, although he didn't have a hit. That's just the way it goes sometimes. If he continues to swing the bat like that, the results will come. Thankfully we salvaged one against them today. And I don't really care how bad the division is as long as we win it. Just get me in the playoffs and the rest will take care of itself.

    Von Joshua is far from some "rookie hitting coach". Hes widely respected in the league He was the Sox hitting coach at the beginning of this decade. I believe he was their hitting coach when they won the division in 2000.

    I don't really know what to think about this. I liked Perry a lot and I don't really think he's to blame for our offensive woes this season. That being said, our offense has been in a drought since the beginning of the season and it looked like there was going to be no end in sight for our offense turning around. I understand why they fired him because they felt like someone had to take the fall for what has been transpiring this year. It sucks that Perry's the guy that has to go, but something needed to be done to get this offense on the right track. Maybe a move like this will wake up the hitters.

    They remind me too much of the Cardinals to ever consider that. In what ways? How the teams constructed? I dunno, I'm such a Mauer fan, their pitching is always very good, and it seems like they've got a handful of hitters that know what they are doing. They are held back by Carlos Gomez, Nick Punto and plenty more hitters that have absolutely no idea what they are doing They seem pretty similar to me in that they have a couple of great players in Mauer and Morneau, similar to Pujols and the rest are just marginal to below average players. They somehow get the job done and they're in the race each and every year, just like the Cards. I'm not a huge believer of a manager making a huge difference in the game, but I'd say Gardenhire definitely gets the most out of his players and he's one of the better managers in the league.
