They remind me too much of the Cardinals to ever consider that. In what ways? How the teams constructed? I dunno, I'm such a Mauer fan, their pitching is always very good, and it seems like they've got a handful of hitters that know what they are doing. They are held back by Carlos Gomez, Nick Punto and plenty more hitters that have absolutely no idea what they are doing They seem pretty similar to me in that they have a couple of great players in Mauer and Morneau, similar to Pujols and the rest are just marginal to below average players. They somehow get the job done and they're in the race each and every year, just like the Cards. I'm not a huge believer of a manager making a huge difference in the game, but I'd say Gardenhire definitely gets the most out of his players and he's one of the better managers in the league.
