  1. That makes no sense. TCU is not going to jump both SEC teams, no matter what happens. An unconvincing win gives a greater chance of both these teams having a rematch in the championship game. That's not gonna happen. Even though this year's SEC is more respected than '06's Big 10, if they didn't give Michigan a rematch against Ohio State, I can't see them giving this loser a rematch. Michigan lost by 3 on the road, dropped to 3rd, then the 2nd place team (USC) lost, and Florida jumped them both just so that a UM/OSU rematch didn't happen. I'm pretty sure the title game is mostly set at this point. It's either SEC winner vs Texas or (if Texas loses) SEC winner vs TCU/Cincy. I don't think there's a chance of a rematch. If this game is close, I bet the pollsters won't drop the loser of this game too far down the ranks. I wouldn't be shocked if there was a rematch if Texas falters. That's absolutely wrong, but that's the way it is.
  2. Lundquist has been doing football broadcasts for 42 years and Danielson has been playing or broadcasting football at the college and pro levels since 1970 Which makes their ignorance all the more incredible. Right, which is the point I was making.
  3. I like how they had to wait for someone to actually tell them in the booth that the play was dead after it hit the upright. How long have these imbeciles been doing games?
  4. It's to be expected. Alabama's taking it to Florida right now.
  5. time to start believing, except you have the packers. The franchise that thought it was time to let their franchise QB go only to see him pop up on their biggest rival (yes they've surpassed the Bears) a year later, likely winning the MVP and beating the Packers twice on the way to a bye week playoff appearance? Yeah, plus I mean we lost to the Bucs.
  6. Channeling my inner sulley, this [expletive] only happens to my teams. Nothing like SIU laying an egg as we usually do in the playoffs; this time with our best team since I've been here. Then I saw that finish in the Illinois game. Of course it was a meaningless game for Illinois, but wow. Really? Typical has never applied more.
  7. Hopefully we don't blow it against Bill & Mary today.
  8. I have absolutely no idea. However, that would be freaking awesome. I'd be okay with Wade too. Or hell, why not both. Wade said he'd like them to play together..... :pig: yeah, i was thinking about that, too. rose/wade/lebron would be a pipe dream but if they want to play on a great team and leave a legacy of championships, that would be the way to go. boston turned it around in one offseason. Just adding LeBron to go along with what we currently have would make us a title contender right off the bat.
  9. No thank you on any Hinrich for Harrington trade, because that would mean the Bulls would to rely on an aging Lindsay Hunter or a crappy Jannero Pargo as the backup PG. Get rid of that $9.5 million salary a year for the next couple of seasons. Get a solid backup PG then it would be a solid trade, if not, it's not worth giving up Hinrich. I agree, but Hinrich's contract desperately needs to be moved before next offseason. It's one of the worst non-Knick contracts in the league.

  11. Well Tyrus isn't going to be re-signed after this year anyway, so I don't think it makes a difference whether or not we trade him in terms of cap purposes for next season. I'm not a big Tyrus fan, but I'd keep him for the rest of this year unless it was a deal that brought an impact player here. Al Harrington definitely doesn't fit that definition. Last year, I remember the Bulls were talking to the Warriors about a Hinrich for Harrington swap before Hinrich was injured. I'd definitely do a Hinrich for Harrington swap, but that would more than likely go against what the Knicks want out of the deal - cap space.
  12. but Ohio State does, which will be quite the shock to whoever wins Ohio State in big games? Cue Gus Johnson's cackle.
  13. Anyone know if the Illinois game is going to be replayed?
  14. I heard he got booed. He got booed but it was rather light. I think it's idiotic to boo him. What did he do to diss the Bulls? The only thing you can say is that he didn't accept that offer 2 years ago, but that was 2 years ago and he never expressed a desire to leave Chicago. The Bulls didnt offer Gordon a contract this offseason, the Pistons did. You can't hate on him for that. I couldn't have said it any better.
  15. I heard he got booed.
  16. He should have his testicles removed for cheating on a wife that insanely gorgeous. I really don't understand why athletes and celebrities get married. It just doesn't make any sense.
  17. This sucks, Illinois is going to piss this challenge away for the second year in a row.
  18. Hawks are debuting their new third jerseys tomorrow. And here's a preview: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2515/4082491173_dca4dcbd86_o.gif
  19. Big, big, big game on Monday night. If we win, we're a near lock of taking one of the Wild Card spots. But our record under MM in big games isn't very good, so I'm not too optimistic.
  20. The Bulls have a tough road trip. It is always tough. Yes Ben's scoring is going to be hard to overcome, but I am expecting more from Derrick as soon as his ankle fully heals up. I think that Ben's lack of defense is averaged out by the better defense Salmons will play. Give this team some time and I think they will be better than last year's team. Do you really think that a team's talent or lack of talent really draws free agents? I am pretty convinced that the bigger contract offer usually wins out. Well then none of the FA's are going to leave their current teams because the teams that they're on right now can offer the most money. At least we fought back in this one. That's a positive I guess, right? Other than that, I have nothing.
  21. Which really isn't all that bad of a fallback option. Meh. Cincy has no running game and no defense. Kelly openly admitted he entered the Illinois game trying to outscore them. Seems like if we wanted someone that fit those criteria that we already had him. Well he's the best option out of the realistic coaches out there IMO. Keep in mind that Cincy has 10 new starters on defense from a year ago as well.
  22. Which really isn't all that bad of a fallback option.
  23. This will be the first 11 am kickoff at SIU that I can remember. Hopefully we won't be sleepwalking on Saturday because W&M is a very good team. In fact they have the best rush defense in I-AA, so we're definitely going to have our work cut out. I like how New Hampshire matches up with Villanova so hopefully we take care of business and get them at home next Saturday.
  24. Former Iowa great Jake Christensen is 1/8 with a couple of picks and a fumble lost against us. Looks like we're going to play William & Mary next week in the round of eight. Hopefully the winner of New Hampshire/McNeese St. can take down Villanova next Saturday.
  25. Your boys are giving Villanova a hell of a fight. Go HC.
