  1. So we've lost our last two games at the Wachovia Center thanks to a terrible line change by Q.
  2. That's how I feel too. Somebody change my thought process.
  3. Either way, Buff has to step it up. He's had a poor game tonight.
  4. Anybody feel sick to their stomach?
  5. Guys, might want to stop turning the puck over in our own end if we want to somehow win this one.
  6. The more I see Versteeg, I become less and less impressed with him.
  7. Judging by his quotes, the Knicks, Nets, and Clippers are in a world of hurt if they want to land him. I think it's either Cleveland or Chicago. Then again, what do I know?
  8. Heh, it seems like I watch the Game 5 highlights against Nashville at least once a day. The first game I remember was when the Avalanche eliminated us in the conference semis in 1996. I didn't really understand all of the hockey lingo but I thought it was a pretty cool sport. I remember vaguely following the Hawks for the next few years, watching guys like Roenick and Chelios leave. I thought the NHL video games were the absolute best, so that really helped me out in terms of understanding the sport and it got me extremely interested in it. The random 2001 season really piked my interest for Blackhawk hockey and I've never really looked back. The Hawks were easily my favorite team in hockey but they were way down on my personal totem pole as far as favorite professional sports teams go. I was probably one of the only people in high school who actually gave a [expletive] that the league was being locked out. The best part is that everything that has happened over the last 15 years has been worth it. I wasn't old enough to appreciate the Bulls dynasty and the Packers Super Bowl. I've seen about as low as an organization can go. I haven't taken this turnaround for granted. The more bandwagon fans, the merrier. There was a point in time where I would kill for three or four other hockey fans in the same school as me. Now, everybody is claiming themselves to be a Hawks fan and I couldn't be happier. Two more wins.
  9. Not with the way the Cubs are playing. And it's good to see the Cubs are being dominated by the New York Yankees in disguise. To be honest, there was a time when I could go to the ballpark just for a god time, and if the Cubs won, great, if not it was still a good time. Now that I have developed expectations, its just not the same. Its just not a good time when the team is playing bad. Its not like if I go to a game, and the Cubs lose, all is lost. A good game is a good game, but when they're playing flat out bad baseball, I just dont enjoy myself. Last year, for instance when they were playing their worst, I went to a game vs. the Twins. It was when they brought in some spot starter who shut us down, and was promptly sent back down to AAA. Meanwhile Wrigley was taken over by Twins fans, whose trailers might be slightly larger than those of Cards fans which made the experience even worse. The series against the Twins definitely wasn't when we were playing our worst.
  10. Exactly. I want a sweep so bad.
  11. I know Ive went to my one and only game this year. I usually go to about 10 a year, but thats not happening this year. The Sunday game against St. Louis was bad enough. I don't think I can expose myself to that anymore this summer.
  12. Not just calling you out, but everyone with that line of thinking. I've heard too much of that in the last 24 hours. In a perfect world, the Hawks sweep the Flyers and win it on Friday. We're all Cubs fans here. Do I really need to say anything else?
  13. 2) +/- does not include power-play goals for or penalty-kill goals against. It *does* count shorthanded goals for and against. Correct, forgot to add that in there. Knew I forgot something.
  14. The last change just means exactly that. The home team gets to have the last line change, which is usually supposed to give you somewhat of a strategic advantage when you're at home. Plus-minus stats are calculated only during even strength time. They go out the window when a goal is scored with a man advantage or a man disadvantage. If you're on the ice when an even strength goal is scored, you get a plus one. If you're on the ice when a goal is scored against you, you get a minus one. That's all there is to it. It's not the best stat in the world but people would tell you that it at least gives you an idea of who exactly is the most valuable to your team. And as far as the fighting thing goes, I have no clue. I really wish they'd either embrace it or abolish it completely.
  15. Sweep these [expletive]. I said it.
  16. Well yeah, but it can only lead to worse things if there's goalie confusion for them.
  17. We looked much better on both ends of the ice (especially in our zone) in the third period. That gives me a lot of optimism going forward in this series. The real question after this game is who's going to be the goaltender for Philadelphia on Monday? They have a very bad situation on their hands because of how poorly Leighton played tonight. Thanks for the real Michael Leighton showing up tonight.
  18. Game 3 and Game 4 are the Versus games. I can't wait. Can it be 7:00 already?
  19. hahhahahahahahahahah Yeah I definitely understand how people could hate Guillen, but I don't mind him at all. As for what I said earlier, I guess I was just disappointed with the lack of MJ being around the Bulls ever since he retired the second time. I don't really remember Jordan at the UC all that much besides some random games throughout the years or when he was on hand for Pippen's retirement ceremony. I don't think Pippen should have been given the head coaching gig either but if VDN got an interview (with no prior coaching experience), why couldn't Scottie? But again, I believe some reporter probably just set him up for that response by citing some examples about the front office. I don't really think Wade meant anything hostile by it. I really wouldn't read too much into it.
  20. His latest tweet agreed that his quotes were taken out of context.
  21. Hard to disagree with him. Although, what "great" player has Miami really been loyal to? Himself? Mourning? Hardaway? Shaq?
