  1. on the likes of joe johnson and david lee I hope not, but that's probably the likely scenario.
  2. Same here. Never had a problem.
  3. I think Melo's NY bound too. I thought Kirk's contract was up after this upcoming season as well. That's sort of a buzzkill. It's not really going to matter though because we're using all of our cap room somehow or someway in the next few weeks.
  4. If Perkins is out for Thursday, it's going to be another blowout.
  5. I heard the Dent comments on the Danny Mac show. McNeil and Spiegel both thought those quotes were absolutely ridiculous, especially the part where he said the Hawks have to win three or four Cups to equal the Bears one title. Yeah, no. No doubt the 1985 Bears and the 1995-96 Bulls were the most dominating champions in the city's history. But it's impossible to compare championships from different sports as to which one is "better" or "more rewarding" to the city. And in the end, who even gives a [expletive] as to who's the best champion in the city? All I care about is that we won the damn Cup this year and I'm still celebrating it right now. I knew some idiot was going to comment on the Hawks title with a response like that.
  6. This is tough. Campbell showed his worth in the playoffs. And I think a #3 (though he's arguably the 4th best d-man on the team behind Hammer) defenseman is harder to come by than a 3rd or 4th line winger. So I would lean toward keeping him. I also don't think the situation is quite as dire as Kyle suggests, especially if Huet is banished to Rockford. No question that Campbell was excellent in the playoffs. But if we have to part with all of those guys that Kyle suggested, I'd be willing to take the hit and get rid of Campbell's contract over getting rid of all of those other players.
  7. Not popular but I'm going to say it anyway. Let's part with Campbell.
  8. He was pretty bad with Rockford. Not a chance he could start.
  9. There's an insider article on ESPN that has a headline of Hossa being dealt to save cap space. Anybody with insider care to share?
  10. because we can, [expletive], because we can. and seriously, this may be the only time i get to do it so i'm going to enjoy it. But why? Philadelphia fans are awful but Truffle's fine. He didn't say anything bad about us. Really, you're falling to their level if you're going to mock Truffle. You're better than that. i never mentioned truffle by name but i've also never been afraid to pick on him and i don't think he's ever been afraid to pick on me. he's knows i'm just being myself and i don't mean anything by it. Fair enough.

  12. No idea. I don't get it.
  13. Wow, while not scoring many goals I thought Hossa was fantastic throughout the whole of the playoffs. It will be glossed over and forgotten because they won, but the criticism of Hossa during these playoffs was preposterous. Simply an easy target because he wasn't scoring goals and the whole "curse" thing. But I assure you, anyone who was criticizing his play doesn't know the first damn thing about hockey. He was phenomenal. I thought it was really close between him and Toews for who was actually the best player throughout the playoffs.
  14. It's not really a "must" win. Technically no, since it's not an elimination game, but there aren't more than a handful of people in the world outside of the Celtics locker room who realistically believe they can win both Games 6 and 7 in LA. If they win tomorrow, I certainly think Boston can split in LA and win the title. They've already split in LA earlier this series. Why can't they do it again?
  15. If K-State goes with them, it's not as bad as initially thought. Plus you do have some decent programs in the MWC like Utah, San Diego St, and New Mexico. It's still a big drop from the Big 12, though. And concerning Iowa State, there's talk that they'd go to the MAC if the Big 12 fully dissolves. Ouch.
  16. They won 2-1. I'll go wet myself. The Cubs didn't start embarrassing themselves this weekend. We embarrassed ourselves a long time ago during this season.
  17. I don't really think we disagree that much. I'd have Buff over Ladd but besides that, I'd be cool with that list.
  18. The regular season is irrelevant now. I'll take the guy that's going to show up when the games matter over the long 82 game stretch. He's actually, you know, good in the playoffs and has some pretty valuable assets. Of course I'm one of the bigger Buff fans on here, but I think it's an absolute mistake to trade him if you're going to use the regular season reasoning. I don't want Bolland going anywhere either. Definition of a great two-way player. Get rid of Versteeg, Sopel, Madden, Huet, and Burish. Keep Nik, Niemi, and Ladd. We'll see where we go from there. i don't think byfuglien was as good in the postseason as people made him out to be, to be honest. he scored a bunch of "playoff goals" and got in the canucks heads, but there's a reason he was -4 in the postseason and -7 in the regular season. and why is the regular season irrelevant? we're still going to be a good team next season, but we're not going to be as good as this year and coast to a top 2 seed. we could be easily end up fighting for home ice in the first round, so yeah. regular season is far from "irrelevant". would i like to keep him? sure, just like i'd like to keep guys like ladd and versteeg. we're going to lose valuable players, and i think he's the guy who has the biggest discrepency between percieved value and actual value on the team. the guy simply does not give it his all for the majority of the games he plays. and with the kane/toews bonus wrinkle, getting rid of versteeg/sopel/madden/burish won't be enough, even if they waive huet to the minors. there's going to be another guy they're going to have to lose. I think this team could easily Penguins it and be very good in the playoffs even if say the Wings were to win the division next year. We have the right makeup to be extremely good in the playoffs. Just look at the last two years. Now I don't mean to say that the regular season is entirely useless for us but as long as we were to guarantee ourselves a top 4 seed in the conference, I'd feel pretty good about our chances. I know all about Buff's +/- numbers. They weren't very good in the playoffs, but Kane and Toews both ended up with minuses too. Not to mention he spent the Nashville series on the blue line, where it was clear as day he wasn't very comfortable and not very good at being a defenseman.

  20. Not only was the Toyota sign up but the players actually had walkup songs today. I went to the Sunday game against the Cardinals and they didn't have that, so that was a little shocking. Other than that, same old crap.
  21. I definitely believe that there were 2 million people there today. That was ridiculously fun and definitely something I'll never forget. The Versteeg thing was just strange. Trade him now.
  22. Love me some World Cup. Hoping for an upset on Saturday.
  23. I've heard that interest around Campbell is going to be there this offseason. If the Hawks really want to move him, it won't be that hard to find a taker. You can mark that down.
  24. Well there goes the relief that we had for the cap going up next year.
