  1. I heard Portland wanted a veteran PG. Hinrich would actually be a decent fit there. Rudy Fernandez is an excellent player and would be the big guard that the Bulls desperately need.
  2. Figure its not too early to start this. Not a lot of people have Browns or Bills starting for their team tonight. In one league, I finally got the team I thought I was getting when I drafted. Everyone is healthy, done with byes and producing. But of course, now I have dilemmas on who to start. -McNabb vs. Baltimore or Warner vs. NYGiants -Wayne vs San Diego or Jennings vs. NO or Colston vs. GB or D'Angelo Williams vs. ATL for 2 WR spots and flex.
  3. They were probably motivated to be the first team to beat Tennessee, but it still was a meaningless game in the grand scheme of things. Non-division, non-conference. But coming off a game where the pass D got abused, again, and going against a solid pass team that will try to exploit them....motivation should be up. Throw in the fact that it's the Packers. It's for survival in the division if the Vikes win. And I think you see a very motivated team ala the Colts and Eagles games.
  4. I think the familiarity will help the Bears pass D this week. I'm not saying they will shut the Packers down, but the Bears know the Packers are going to throw the ball and what they like to do in the air. This was not the case w/ Tennessee, Atlanta, and Tampa. I thought it was clear the Bears focused more on stopping the Titans run game. And it was clear they thought they could do things to confuse Ryan and the Falcons. I don't know what they hell they were doing vs. Tampa, though. I think they will put pressure on GB. They have in the past. They have played their WRs well in the past. And this defense is one of the best in the league when they are motivated to do so and play aggressively. I think that will be the case this week.
  5. And injured. As bad as Addai has been, I'm glad at this point I skipped Jackson and went with Joseph in my draft. Really? Jackson's still been much better than Addai this year. I picked up Jackson in my draft, but if he had been gone, I would have taken Gore over Addai. I didn't trust him this season for some reason.
  6. I not afraid to say it....Rose will be better then both Paul and Williams. Rose is already bigger and stronger then Paul, and faster and more athlethic then Deron Williams. So yes, I do think Rose will eventually be better then both Paul and Williams. Same could be said about Mike Conley Jr.
  7. Can't picture him in another uniform. Can't believe they aren't bringing him back.
  8. Looks like Orton will play this week. Limited practice yesterday. Should get more today. And I'd imagine almost all the reps Friday. Kreutz, Harris, Jones, and Brown missed practice for non-injury reasons, but everyone else practiced including limited action by Orton, Hillenmeyer, and Tillman. Brandon Lloyd also expects to play this week.
  9. Crean already turning things around! Elston, Creek, and Watford will be fun to watch. The experience the guys get this year, will hopefully pay dividends when the talent starts to roll in next year.
  10. It amazes me how many dumb trade offers I get with a team that is far ahead of the rest of the league. Dude offered me Coles and Hester for Boldin. Boldin has more points than both combined and missed 3 games including his bye. Plus, I couldn't even start both of those WRs, unless I benched someone better. Should be common sense that the best team isn't going to trade their primary reason for being the best team.
  11. http://chicagocubsonline.com/archives/2008/11/newsrumors1112.php#more Hmm...that would be an interesting situation if Pie wasn't even in the deal. I wonder what else he could bring on the trade market. I know they have Cameron Maybin, but could Florida be interested in Pie (and others) for Hermida? Colorado for Hawpe?
  12. Yep, first thing I noticed when the schedule came out. 2 road 2 home 2 road 3 home 3 road 3 home
  13. I was watching the game last night and thought to myself maybe the Bulls shoulda drafted Beasley. The offense isn't geared to run thru the PG (actually, don't know what the offense is supposed to be geared to do). I don't know if Rose will ever be a 9-11 assist/game type PG in the Del Negro offense. But then I kept watching, and forget position, Rose is just a great player. Positive things happen when the ball is in his hands. He makes everyone on the team better. You can't say that about Beasley.
  14. derrick rose is a prayer. i was about to disagree with you but i started going through the other true PGs in the league and you might be right. Those are certainly the only two i'd take over him going forward. What about right now? Who's better than Rose besides Paul and Williams? I guess you can say Tony Parker. Nash and Kidd are on the way down. Guys like Wade, Baron, Devin Harris, and Iverson aren't true points. Rondo, Calderon, and TJ Ford are off to good starts. Can maybe include Bibby, Andre Miller, and Billups in the discussion right now. But Tony Parker is probably the only other PG clearly better than Rose. And it's pretty close there too.
  15. 6-4 in one keeper league (no money). Started 5-0. I blame Greg Jennings for sucking and Willie Parker for falling off the face of the Earth. 7-3 in one of my money leagues (PPR league). Started 6-0. Lost 3 straight. Won this week. Injuries started mounting when bye weeks started for my players. 16-4 in my big money keeper league (PPR league). Play 2 games/week. Lead the league in scoring by 180+ points (2 games so scores multiplied by 2). 2 words. ANQUAN BOLDIN! Last year, I won both the money leagues. About $400 total. This year, I stand to win over $800 w/ a trophy! The 16-4 league is at work and I don't know if I'll be invited back! I won the league last year. Won the baseball league last year. And dominated the baseball league all regular season (best record and most points by far) only to lose by 3 points in the championship game. Oh, I'm winning the NBA league so far too.
  16. Maybe we get the Royals to be the third team in a Peavy deal? Find a way to get Greinke to San Diego? I'd rather have Greinke that Peavy. I wouldn't go that far. Unless of course Greinke meant the Cubs spent big on the offense (Texiera, Manny). SD would be making out if they got Greinke in a 3-way deal for Peavy.
  17. No, Quinn didn't really look Braylon's way. That worries me w/ Edwards. But Burress has all but been run out of town. Kellen Winslow was Quinn's primary target. I've been pretty lucky in one of my league's this year. I had Winslow on my bench w/ 32 points, but instead of missing out on huge points, I started Tony Gonzalez who put up 33! We start 2 WR and 1 flex TE/WR, most teams don't have a TE so I have 3 of the top 4 including Owen Daniels too.
  18. Start Forte. Always. Start Jennings and Edwards. And I know how you feel, one league my 1st two WRs drafted were Colston and Jennings. Jennings had a great start. Colston was great this week, for my bench. Thank God for me! (Desean Jackson)
  19. While I appreciate the optimism, I'm not quite sure what this is based on other than pure hope? The Lions have a putrid Oline and we let Orlovski(sp?, who caers..the other white guy who sucks at QB) have all day to throw the ball. We haven't generated a pass rush against statues such as Brian Griese, Gus Frerrote, and Kerry Collins. Now we go against a QB Rogers who can really move around in the pocket? It is going to be quick slants to Jennings and Driver all day. Rex will be better, and by better I mean stashed away on the bench. The only thing we have going for us is Orton starting and some crazy hex Lovie has on Green Bay. Green Bay is not that good. Their OL has been porous this season. They've given up back-to-back 4 sack games. Granted those were to Tennessee and Minnesota. Still, Aaron Rodgers has been pressured and/or knocked down several times this season. The Bears haven't rushed the passer well for most of this year, but Tennessee has the best OL in the NFL. Tampa has been the 4th best at protecting the QB. Atlanta and Carolina have also been very good. I have faith that the Bears coaching staff will do more with the pass rush to help the struggling DBs. Whether it's schemes or blitzes, the Bears will put heat on Rodgers.
  20. Uggla is a 3B waiting to happen. Hanley is a CF waiting to happen, but that won't happen. I'd imagine Mike Jacobs will also be on the block. IF will probably be: Uggla 3B, Ramirez SS, Bonafacio 2B, Cantu 1B I'm guessing this just slipped your mind, but Jacobs was already traded to the Royals a couple weeks ago. You know what it crossed my mind, but I thought I was imagining things. I went to the Marlins ESPN page (first mistake) and it didn't have anything about Jacobs leaving. It had today's trade already up, though.

  22. That was my initial thought as well. I was thinking that too, but I didn't think the Cubs or Marlins should necessarily give up anymore. That would have made it a 5-for-1 trade for the Cubs and 3-for-3 for the Marlins, with them giving up at least 2 major leaguers for 3 minor leaguers.
  23. Bears will win this game. This is a good matchup for the Bears. Defense should be able to rush the QB. Offense should be able to move the ball. Rex will be better.
  24. I did too. What happened to last years ABrown. What happened to rookie Mark Anderson. Really and im serious, the pass rush from the interior (Harrison, I2, and the oft injured Tommie) produces more of a pass rush than the ends. I have more confidence in those 3 producing pressure/sacks than the ends. JA is so going after a DE in the first round next April. I think the Bears need to draft a guy who can stretch the field for Orton. Jeremy Maclin? Michael Crabtree? Percy Harvin? 1. Devin Hester and Earl Bennett can stretch the field 2. Orton isn't a stretch the field type of QB. 3. The Bears won't be bad enough to draft Crabtree, because he's going in the top 5. 4. The Bears scored 28 ppg w/ Orton, do you really think stretching the field is a problem? I wouldn't mind another weapon at WR (esp since we're not sure what Earl Bennett can provide) but I think the offensive line and the always ambiguous "defensive playmaker" should be the priority. Crabtree has to be a lock for top 5 at this point. I wouldn't either. But not anywhere close to the 1st round. I would prioritize OL, DE, or safety before a WR. WR isn't as important to this offense w/ Forte and Olsen having WR like skills.
  25. Ok, I gotta try. Cubs get Peavy Padres get Hermida, Olsen, Cedeno Marlins get Ramirez, Pie, Ceda Texas gets Marshall
