  1. When's the MOJ baby coming?
  2. I pointed out right after the trade that a large portion of Cutler's INTs (7 of the 18, I believe) came with his team down by over 16 or down in the 4th quarter. I think it was a clear case of him trying to do too much. That's not to say he won't do that this year, but the Bears should do a much better job of NOT getting his offense behind by 2 scores. After mid-2006, Grossman was turned into a game managing QB and still threw bad INTs. He never had the same type of INTs Cutler has had.
  3. Congrats to you, Trina, and Halla. Now you just need some more testosterone in your household.
  4. Obviously, the Cubs need Soriano, Bradley, and Ramirez to stay on the field and start performing. Bradley has put up OPS's of .905, 1.009, and .868 in the 2nd half the last 3 years (actually last year was worst than his 1st half). Soriano and Ramirez have been better 2nd half hitters as Cubs, as well. However, it wouldn't suprise me with their injury histories if none of them performed. So, I really don't know what to expect. The Cubs can get away with little production from C, 2B, and Harden if everyone performs the way they have and the big 3 perform like they should. That's a big if though because Lee, Fukudome, and Theriot have all been prone to long, bad slumps. Don't know what to expect from Wells and Dempster from here on out. And then there's the unpredictable bullpen.
  5. Wow. I got a no-hitter, but still may not win my game. Can't believe I lose 50 points because of an error. What idiot commits an error after a pitcher throws 7 1/3 perfect? Anybody who commits an error after the 4th when a pitcher is that good should be cut immediately. But I guess I can't be too mad. I only had Sanchez in the lineup because I traded Carpenter earlier in the week.
  6. BBB that was my thinking. Drabek has been dominating this year. Peavy doesn't have an arm injury and should be a great keeper with just over 200 points. Even if he comes back, he won't get much more than 300. I am losing a lot of exemptions and am using my 2000 points on Peavy, Wainwright, Kinsler, Sizemore, and Gonzalez, and still may not have enough to keep them all. I had no future on my team as my prospects were horrible. Plus, Abuck can't keep all the players he has. He'll probably only be able to keep 3 of Tex, Rollins, Wright, McCann, and Hamels. Maybe 4 if Hamels stays on his 350 point pace. Also, there wasn't much of a market for David Wright. I have offered him in a few trades that got shot down. Plus, many teams are strong at 3B.
  7. this is the worst season ever.
  8. Extremely good start for him. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=30191 Cubs don't face Hanson.
  9. Ditto with Wainwright & Carp. not necessarily
  10. Oh yeah, and I've been selling for weeks. Only received 1 offer.
  11. Can I have your brain?
  12. not so much a sign, as it is a logo. :D
  13. Where does the DH factor in? I think the Cubs may have 11 pitchers for a few days, but with Harden being a big risk nowadays for a short start and a double-header 2 days later to end the first half, I think you might see another pitcher up on Sat/Sunday next week. I think you might actually see Patton sent back tomorrow. Kevin Hart has value as a long-man for Friday if Harden goes less than 5 again. Fuld is obviously gone. And I think you see Shark sent back down. Then you have the option of calling up Ascanio or Stevens for the final weekend and sending Blanco/Fontenot down.
  14. This is crazy good. Federer can't win if he can't break Roddick's serve. ARod's gotta still be kicking himself for blowing the 5-1 and 6-2 tiebreakers.
  15. I'm really sad. A lot sadder than I maybe should be. I wasn't a Titans/Oilers fan. I followed McNair, but not any more than most players that I followed. But he was very good QB that could have been much, much better had it not been for injuries. Easily would have been a HOF if he could have played a few more years healthy in his prime. I take away from his career just how impossible it was for him to get where he was. He went to Alcorn St. A historically black D2 or 3 school, and was the 3rd pick of the draft. Granted we've seen perhaps the best WR and RB ever come from HBCs (Rice, Payton), but to be picked 3rd and the first at a position that has had very few black players even play, let alone star at that position, is nothing short of amazing and a testiment to how truly talented he was. The fact that he lived up to that draft pick is even more remarkable. R.I.P. Steve McNair.
  16. The gaping hole is in the offense, not the bullpen. Trading offense for a "veteran" middle reliever will do nothing for this team.
  17. Why not both? You have 12 pitchers right now, which is more than necessary. When Johnson comes back, obviously, Fuld goes. When Guzman comes back, Hart or Shark goes back to Iowa. When Ramirez comes back you can send the other back or end the Patton experience. When Miles comes back, you have the decision to make w/ Blanco or Fontenot.
  18. Aren't Odom and Artest kind of redundant? They aren't the same player, but would have similar roles for the Lakers offensively. What's the chances they lose Odom and go after an Andre Miller?
  19. Joe Johnson would be a wonderful pickup.
  20. Real interesting. Conley Mayo Gay Randolph Thabeet with a ton of size on the bench of Gasol, Arthur, Warrick, and Mihm. Their only legit backup on the perimeter though is Sam Young, though. If they can pick up a cheap backup at PG and trade Warrick for a backup 2-3, they should be pretty deep and solid, throughout. Sucks they are in the West.
  21. Well isn't it pretty natural that if you score 40 points in a game that you aren't going to get a bunch of assists too? I mean he's not Lebron where he has the ball in his hand 100% of every possession. For his role on the team, those are great lines. The Bulls have potential for rebounding at every other position. And nobody on the team can pass. That doesn't excuse him, but the point is when you score 40 and don't have the ball constantly, you aren't going to get huge assist numbers.
  22. I don't see Wade and Rose working well together. Everyone says that, and it doesn't make sense. Every player that can honestly call himself a great player can play with anyone.
  23. While that's true, they still low-balled him compared to the offer that Deng received. When he did want to accept the deal they offered him last summer, they pulled it and he could only accept the qualifying offer. He has a terrible agent, make no mistake about it. It was evident from day one that this team viewed Deng as the better player even though Gordon was obviously the better player on the court. He was under appreciated by management and by a segment of fans. I know I shouldn't be as upset as I am but 20 point per game scorers don't just grow on trees. Salmons had a career year last year. Who's to say that he doesn't regress back to his typical production? I think the combination of Rose-Gordon-Salmons worked extremely well together. Now it seems like we're counting on Deng to be healthy and good, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. This offense will be very painful to watch if something does happen to Salmons because having Kirk Hinrich at the 2 is absolutely brutal. Again, I know I'm overexaggerating BG's loss. But I do think people should be upset about losing for him because he does make our team better. Period. Agree. 100%. It hurts more that he's right next door in Detroit. In the same division. Facing the Bulls 4 times over the next 5 years. He's not an ideal player with his lack of 2G size and his 1-dimensional skills as a scorer, but he provided something that the Bulls didn't have from anywhere else and are sorely lacking right now.
  24. Wasn't Vick already suspended indefinitely by the NFL?
  25. If Shaq wins the title, Kobe should say "Shaq can't win it without a premier outside player" :D Crazy that he is going to play with Kobe, Wade and Lebron....the 3 best players in the game today. Not too mention former 2-time MVP, Steve Nash and former star Penny Hardaway. Shaq has been surrounded by talent his whole career.
