  1. Still more promising than Rudy's I'd say. What does Rudy do besides shoot the three ball? Yeah, but it happens to be one of the things this team needs most. But yeah, like Raisin said, with Boozer's history of health issues, I don't think the Bulls can afford to trade Gibson.
  2. I think they will. Lovie knows his job is on the line and he can't afford not to have an open competition. If Wooten or Idonije is better, they will play. I really don't like Anderson as an every down player. He is really only a 3rd down and medium or long DE. He is terrible against the run because of his stupid spin move that he uses constantly. I thought Anderson was pretty solid the last 4 games last year. I think he started the last 2 for Ogunleye. I don't have a problem with him as an every down DE if necessary. Peppers is really good vs. the run and if necessary, you can have Urlacher cheat over there and line one of the safeties up on that side of the field. Plus, you still have the SLB there also.
  3. @ND not even a losable game anymore for a borderline top 15 team? My, it is a bad situation. It's losable still, especially for a team like Pitt who don't look to have an explosive pass offense. The problem w/ Pitt is that anybody that is able to stuff the run and double up Baldwin is going to give them a tough game. They could run the table and not win a game by more than 20 points this year.
  4. Looks like the Rockies have 2 also w/ Ubaldo and Hammel. Blue Jays look to have Romero, Marcum and Morrow ahead of Wells. I don't see the Angels' 2nd unless you are talking about Haren who only has 3 starts with them?
  5. I think Greinke will be made available this offseason, but I think it will take a pretty good package of young talent to get him. I'm thinking 3 top 15 type talents. From the Cubs perspective, my guess is it would take a package of Archer, Vitters/Lake, Rusin.
  6. The Pitt/Utah game is pretty interesting to me. Pitt is quietly a team that can throw a monkey wrench into the BCS situation. They are a win at Utah, wins at home vs. Miami and WVU, and no slip-ups away from going undefeated this year. They may only be underdogs in the Utah game, and that looks like it won't be by anymore than 3-3.5 points.
  7. OMG! You're only going to win by 40 instead of 60 WAH! WAH! WAH!
  8. wow! The Phillies were down 4-2 in the 9th. Scored 2 runs to tie it, and had a runners on 1st and 3rd with 0 outs and make 3 outs on the basepaths without scoring another run. Runner at 3B going on contact w/ 0 outs and gets into a rundown that doesn't advance the runners. Runner at 2B gets picked off. Runner at 1B gets caught trying to steal 2nd. Only the Cu...Phillies. Marlins just get robbed on a ball down the line called foul that never actually went into foul territory at any point, including when it went into the corner.
  9. Kampman- 4 years, 24 Mil, 11 Mil guaranteed A Rolle- 5 years, 37 Mil, 15 Mil guaranteed A Brown- 2 years, 10 Mil, 0 guaranteed Peppers- 6 years, 91.5 Mil, 42 Mil guaranteed So, yes the Bears conceivably could have had all 3 players for cheaper than Peppers. The problem was Kampman and Rolle would have had to have wanted to sign with the Bears. All indications were that Rolle was discussed, but chose to go to NY. Also, that would have likely meant no Chester Taylor, who could prove to be a must-have if he motivates Forte, saves Forte from all the wear and tear from his first 2 years, and produces.
  10. I liked Verner a lot going into the draft. Thought he would be a good Cover 2 fit for the Bears. Raisin will be happy to hear he is doing well.
  11. Do you guys really want this? http://multimedia.heraldinteractive.com/images/ca5d531dc5_DelonteWest_11012009.jpg http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/2007/10/16-22/joakim-noah.jpg That's too much ugly for 1 team to handle
  12. Maybe. But it's not like a WR getting seperation is a rare occurence. The Bears are going to see Sidney Rice twice, Greg Jennings twice, Calvin Johnson twice, Randy Moss and others. They are going to get seperation a lot. The key is minimizing the damage done when a WR seperates and getting to the QB to not allow him to take advantage of it. Knox, Hester, and Aromashodu should be able to seperate with their speed, and it's a good sign that they are able to do it in practice.
  13. The Vikings are still a really good team even if Favre doesn't play. Jackson is a lot better than people are giving him credit for. His 2007 season (first year as a starter) was pretty crappy. But he made strides by 2008. He started the first 2 games of the year, and was lackluster, but came back in the last 4 games and put up QB ratings of 143.8, 135.5, 98.5, and 88.5. The last 3 were against playoff teams that year. He completed 64% of his passes, for 740 yards, 8 Tds and 1 INT in those 4 games, though he did have a crappy game vs. the Eagles in the playoffs. Last year in the preseason, he also played really well. Same for when he came into games during the regular season. Favre isn't going to be as good as he was in 2009 either. But just because he isn't there doesn't mean that Rice is going to go back to pre-2009 Rice. Harvin is still going to develop. Berrian is still going to be solid. And T-Jack is going to make most of the plays that he needs to make. He's going into his 5th year in the system, I think he will be fine.
  14. Falcons are an interesting team. Unfortunately, I don't have very much confidence that Abraham can stay healthy and still be a worthwhile pass rusher. I think the Falcons had some areas to shore up in order to take a step in becoming an elite team. I thought they did well w/ Dunta and drafting Franks, and I love Weatherspoon to solidify the LB group. But I thought they needed help rushing the passer (26th in sacks last year) and another weapon for the #3 WR spot. Gotta really hope Anderson and/or Sidbury really step up, IMO, to be a playoff team.
  15. Titans have the Texans or Colts 4 times in the last 6 weeks of the season.
  16. AFC seems pretty set in stone. More often than not the last 7 years, it's been Colts, Pats, Chargers, Steelers, and the Jets, Dolphins, Titans, and Ravens taking turns making it in. Seems like it's the Titans' and Dolphins' turns. FWIW, I think the Titans are a 9-win team, with a chance to get into double digits if the Colts take a step back and Houston doesn't take the next step forward.
  17. You sure?
  18. Don't worry, we will be a 1/2 game worse this time tomorrow.
  19. On a side note, even with Revis I'm not buying into the Jets as the juggernaut being portrayed. Call me a homer, but I am in no way convinced they're better than the Dolphins. They might be, but it's certainly not conclusive. Went 9-7 and squeaked into the playoffs only because the Colts quit a game they were leading 9-3 at halftime and the Bengals didn't play the final week. They started 3-0 (against Houston, NE, and Tennessee who were all miles better by the middle of the season). If their schedule was reversed, they could have conceivably lost 10 games. Their other wins were juggernots like Tampa, Buffalo, Carolina, and Oakland.
  20. Sweet! Never thought I would be happy to not score points. 6th is a lot better than 9th.
  21. That's not a horrible team. Especially if it's not PPR. Got a top 3 player at QB, WR, and K. I think Shiancoe is a top 5 TE if Favre is back. I also like your bench and McFadden could surprise this year. I don't like Portis, though as he is in a RB by committee situation and coming off of an injury plagued season. Maybe when Big Ben comes back and plays well, you can package him and Wallace for a RB and pickup a backup WR on the waiver wire for one of your TEs.
  22. He doesn't. http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xc/103175108.jpg?v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF87892102A727B1636DE2E69777C022FC7C29046647B1C0B18B052440ACB9FA80019ABA
  23. FYI, Moreno was carted off the field today with a hamstring injury.
