  1. He got 15 carries, I'm really not sure what you're complaining about. He's complaining because your argument makes no sense. You say there's more likely to be an injury running the ball, so instead of taking people out you just don't run the ball. That makes no sense. And your "only" 15 carries doesn't make any sense considering he had 8 catches, and 2 more than got called back due to penalty or the Matthews sack. So, he had basically 25 touches. Which you also argued that Forte has more wear and tear.
  2. How many times did they fail to stop a 4 man rush? Seemed like just about every sack was a blitz...they blitzed a ton. Actually, a lot of the damage was done on a 4-man rush. The 2 sacks where the Bears punted from the endzone were both 4-man rushes. The 2 sacks after the Tillman INT were on 4-man rushes, though those were both coverage sacks / Jay Cutler not throwing the damn ball sacks.
  3. Running the football is probably the riskiest thing you can do from a health standpoint. I'm very happy they limited Forte's carries. But he still got it 15 times. Riskier than dropping back the QB and letting him get sacked 6 times? If limiting injury was the point, then put in backups. Yeah I agree. Either play to win, or don't try at all. It seemed like too much middle ground with the offense.
  4. Also, it's Black Monday! Fox is gone from Carolina. Rumors are Marvin Lewis, Eric Mangini, and Tom Cable are getting the axe at least today.
  5. I'm kinda indifferent about yesterday's game. On one hand, I'm glad the Bears played the entire game, so they didn't mail it in at halftime. But I'm sure that would have been the plan had the game been less in doubt either way. On the other hand though, I really hate to go into an off week after a performance like that. The WRs and Cutler were absolutely horrible. The CB blitz again victimized the Bears. All the stuff the Bears had been doing well for 4-5 weeks, went to hell yesterday.
  6. I think if GB gets out of the first, they very well may beat the Falcons in Atlanta like they should have done a few weeks ago. I'd rather get GB in Chicago than go on the road to Atlanta.
  7. Interesting. I hadn't heard those criticisms of Mike Pouncey to this point. I knew he developed a little more slowly than his brother in some areas (the reason he stayed in college while Maurkice left), but was under the impression he was pretty similar to his brother at this point. I mean they're twins, so the similarities are obviously there. But Maurkice is a little smaller. A little more mobile. Probably a little smarter and a little tougher at the point of attack. But the big difference is in space. If the DTs slant, causing the guards to block out, Maurkice can stand there in the middle and take on the fast, blitzing LB. Mike cannot be put on an island like that. Granted that won't happen much at OG, but he will have trouble with blitzing LBs and DE stunts in pass protection. I have 0 problems with Mike's run blocking though.
  8. Yeah, he's easily as good as his brother. I'm curious to see if the bad snaps will downgrade his perception some, even though I doubt anybody will draft him as a center. That's not true. Mike is at least a step and a 1/2 behind his brother. For one, there's a reason why Maurkice came out and Mike didn't. Secondly, Maurkice has played at an all-pro level this year and has been the best C in the AFC. Mike is only a 1st rounder if a team like Philly, Pittsburgh, or Indianapolis feel like they have to reach to get him because he wont' come back to them in the 2nd. Most websites have Mike Pouncey at a 2nd round grade right now. I think the snaps have downgraded his perception. He's now viewed as just a guard instead of a versatile OL. He also has always had questions about his athleticism and pass blocking ability. So in your opinion, he's going to go somewhere from late first to middle second? Late 1st to late 2nd. Typically, you only see 3-4 interior OL in the 1st 2 rounds. Pouncey could be the 1st or could be put after guys like Wisnewski (Penn St), Hudson (FSU), Cannon (TCU), or Pinkston (Pitt). The first 2 guys can also project as centers, the last 2 are college LTs that could play RT in the NFL. Mike Pouncey is probably only a RG at this point to most teams. All this being said, I'd take him on the Bears in a heartbeat. I think he'll be a good guard in the NFL. I also wouldn't be afraid to NOT rule him out at C either. Don't know that I would take him in the 1st though.

  10. Schefter tweeted that it was almost done.
  11. Looks like Jim Harbaugh going to coach his alma mater.
  12. I don't understand that. I understand having concerns about him. But dude is a walking "wow" I think that is part of it, he would appear to have all the tools to be the best receiver in CFB. He has had moments but has never really wowed with his performance. His moments have come in big games though. He shows up when the lights are on for the most part. And the numbers are there. He's 20th in the nation in receiving yards, but he's 6th of all receivers in BCS conferences and 11th in receptions of BCS WRs. Can't get much better than that especially considering that most of the guys ahead of him are from pass happy Big 12 schools (OK, OK St, TT, Mizzou).
  13. Didn't get a shot because he couldn't stay healthy. Oh and the QB sucked too.

  15. Green is much bigger and faster. Blackmon is more Michael Crabtree than Dez Bryant. AJ Green is a Calvin Johnson clone. I don't know if I'd go as far as Calvin Johnson but AJ Green is definitely much better than Blackmon. And Blackmon I think has separated himself ahead of Julio Jones. I like Julio Jones. It would be hard to pass him up. He really had a great game vs. Patrick Peterson, but his lack of concentration and drops concern me. Maybe it is a concentration thing cuz he does show up in big games like LSU vs Patterson. The drops are just bad and coupled with Blackmon's good hands, the reason I like Blackmon more. Yeah, he definitely takes games off. His big games were Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, and the opener vs. SJSt. But if he focuses consistently, there's really no CB that can matchup with his size and strength combination.

  17. I have available: Matt Kemp- 441.5 points Michael Young - 465.2 That's about it of guys people may be willing to keep.
  18. I got C- 1b- Miguel Cabrera- 616.2 2B- Gordon Beckham- Exempt SS- Troy Tulowitzki- 466.5 3B- David Freese- Exempt OF- Carlos Gonzalez- Exempt OF- Adam Jones- Exempt OF- U- SP- Adam Wainwright- 754 SP- SP- SP- SP- Rick Porcello - Exempt SP/RP- Andrew Cashner- Exempt RP- Wow, and I guess I am 1.2 points away from being able to keep Joba.
  19. Oh yeah, can't forget about those personal foul calls. IIRC, there were 2 on the same drive. Yeah, I think 2 of those and a PI was called on the game winning drive. Kinda gave that game to the Bears in that sense. But also they took a TD off the board by holding (FG was then blocked by Peppers). Bears though did drop a TD pass (Clark) and Gould missed a makeable FG to open the game.
  20. Wow. That's an incredible stat. Or.... the biggest factor in the outcome of the game was that the defensive line was all over the place causing several holding penalties and false starts. I was at that game and somewhat inebriated. Just how many of those were holds and false starts? That was the game Cutler had an INT or two wiped out by penalties on the late drive. There were like 5 pass interference calls against the Pack. 3 personal fouls on the D for roughing the passer, late hit, and facemask. There was an offside on a kickoff. But I also counted 4 holding calls on the OL, an intentional grounding on Rodgers, 2 false starts, and a penalty for the LT on Peppers who got flagged for lining up in the backfield, which was obviously to get an advantage on a passing play.
  21. Can someone give me a link to the league? I can't get on it at work w/o the direct link. I have my keepers list at home, but it wouldn't take forever to put together. I know I have: Carlos Gonzalez- Exempt Troy Tulowitzki Adam Wainwright Gordon Beckham- Exempt But who knows how the hell else is on my team.
