  1. Ugh. Bush was gashing them. 3 straight passes.
  2. I hate only having a 10 point lead with the Lions 2nd half history. Granted, the Bears D is really good. But something's gotta give, and I hope it's not our boys. If Cutler is not playing, it puts more pressure on the D.
  3. Ribs? That's kinda best case.
  4. Campbell throws a great deep ball. Max protect, throw to Marshall as far as you can. Too late now.
  5. Lance Briggs = reason why it's ok to let Urlacher walk after the season if necessary.
  6. Was more worried about the shoulder than the head. Head injury is 1 week, shoulder is multiple. Bears need to NOT allow one of their patented 2-minute drives vs. prevent D in the last few minutes of the half.
  7. Charles Martin playing for Lions now?
  8. hahaha I understand Chicago is a pretty big city and all, but if I had never seen football in my life and I saw a 6'4", athletically build black man, I would assume he played football somewhere and wouldn't ask that question.
  9. Same with the sucky Raiders.
  10. It will be week 8 before we finally have our 3rd noon Sunday start of the year. So far we've had 2 Noon Sundays (Colts, Rams), a noon 3PM (Jags), 2 MNF (Cowboys, Lions), a Thursday night game (Packers) and a bye. Then after 2 noon games we have 2 more primetime games in a row. The good news is that 5 of our last 6 games will be noon games with the other being a 3pm Until 1 of them gets flexed out and another moved to the late game.
  11. Yeah, Reddick over Cespedes. I'm not convinced Cespedes is going to get considerably better at age 27. Reddick is a year and a half younger, and is not the .242 hitter he was this year. I expect him to be more like the .880 OPS hitter he was in the first half of the season with a 260-270ish average and probably even more walks. Seems like he wore out some down the stretch in what was his first full ML season. Plus, Reddick has ties with this FO, being a former Red Sox prospect/player. I'd love to get Reddick and one of their young arms for almost whatever they want. I MIGHT be willing to trade Baez if it's Reddick and Anderson coming to the Cubs, and not much more going Oakland's way in terms of big time prospects. But I think it could work without Javy, but the Cubs may be left with only Baez and players drafted/signed in the last 6 months (though those are some damn good prospects to have left).
  12. Somewhere things have gone astray in the football world. High School Football is to be played on Friday Night. College Football is to be played on Saturday afternoon. NFL Football is to be played on Sunday afternoon. While Monday Night Football has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old, watching the game with the mute button on after my bedtime, it has always been a nice OPTIONAL distraction. I liked having a choice of staying up to watch a game between 2 teams I didn't care about or having a Bears game once a year on MNF. But I am torn. My team playing in Monday and Sunday night games means that the Bears are a good team. And now that I live outside of the Chicago area, it also means that I can watch more games live on my TV instead of going to a bar, following on Gamecast or now finding an illegal website to watch games online. But as Goony has said in the past, a night game means a full day of anticipation, eating, and drinking and usually exhaustion by the game time if on Sunday Night. A MNF game means a full day of work, dinner, kids/family (if you have them), and usually exhaustion by game time. A loss means angry and tired going to bad unable to sleep and unwillingness to get up for work the next day. A win means too much excitement/adrenaline to fall asleep and unwillingness to get up for work the next day.
  13. If your team sucks, do it. Torrey is a steal at that price. And Marshall will be available again this year. I don't know your rules, but I'd get rid of Mike Williams at that price too.
  14. College football too, but that's only 1 game. Of course college basketball allows almost everyone to be in postseason with conference tournaments.
  15. No way? If they lose 5 in conf thats 13 wins. If they lose both tough non conf games thays 26-27. Thats 3-4 in b1g and/or ncaa tourneys. And thats pretty pessimistic for a team rated better than everyone right now.
  16. Well, I finally watched the IU live practice thing on ESPNU this weekend. It got me kind of hyped for the season. I don't think this is the #1 team in the nation, right now. Granted, they are as talented as anyone in the country, but I worry about how it will all come together. This isn't a team that can completely build on last year. Some guys will be in different roles, mainly due to Yogi joining the roster. A below average defensive team now faces the challenge of now playing a lot of defensive possessions with 2 sub 6-footers on the floor. Zeller isn't exactly dominant defensively in the middle either. So, I worry about a lot of easy baskets, especially when IU fails to get the full court pressure they will often play this year. On the positive side, Yogi should be able to get to the rim almost at will and create for himself, Zeller, or a shooter. And Zeller should be able to get any calls he wants in the paint, since he's America's golden boy this year. The keys are going to be getting more consistency from Watford (17.8 ppg, 46% f/field in last 6, following a 10-39 slump) and Oladipo (9 games over 15 points, 9 with 6 or fewer) and getting another guy to step up in the front court (Perea or Hollowell). This is a team that will out-talent teams to a 30-win season. But I do worry about a tourney flameout, when games are being called closer and a team manages to get Zeller in foul trouble. IU could go out in the 2nd round, or they could be an Elite 8/Final 4 type team. I don't think they are going to win a championship (mainly due to coaching and interior defense), but it'd be pretty exciting if they got close.
  17. What the hell is wrong with you people?

    NFL Week 6

Rivers is more of the perception of Cutler than Cutler is.

    NFL Week 6

Ray Lewis probably tore his triceps. Ladarius Webb probably tore his ACL. Both will be out for the season if MRIs tomorrow confirm.
  20. They've gotten as much a pass as the Packers have from the national media over the first part of the season. The media finally started seeing that the Packers had issues this past week. Looks like the Pats criticism should start this coming week. The Pats have lost 3 games by a combined total of 4 points, 2 of them on the road. 1 vs another elite team, 1 in the toughest place to play in the league. They were the #2 team in rushing in the league, and 10th in passing was an underachievement influenced by 2 complete blowout wins. They stop the run on D. Pass D and pass rush are still an issue, but they are going to be a 10-win team again when the year is over. Same with the Packers. Neither of them look like Superbowl teams, but neither did the last couple SB winners as recently as Week 16 the year they won. Both are still likely playoff teams and likely to be 2 of the toughest outs in there.
  21. Too bad Philly couldn't hold a late double digit lead or else the Bears could've put the nail in the Lions next week. Hopefully Houston can do their part tonight and the Bears can open up a nice cushion in the division.
  22. Just watched the replay and the side judge definitely started running into the play before the RB got the ball over the endzone. But I didn't hear him blow a whistle or see him waiving his arms, so that play should have still been going.
  23. My understanding is if they are eligible for minors under RK rules u can put them in the minors. U can also keep them there the next year until they go over the threshold of rookieness.
