  1. Haha. Jealous bastards. I should have linked the entire article, but the point of it was that a lot of people hate preseason rankings and think preseason #1 usually disappoints. But the preseason #1 actually fares better than the #1 going into the postseason. The preseason rankings are generally more predictive than the final rankings of the regular season.
  2. Not really a question as much as pointing out my dumbassery. I benched Doug Martin this week, despite having a hunch that he might do well. The reason I benched him....because I didn't want to use almost half my roster on Thursday night. I had Vincent Jackson, Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin in my lineup and didn't want a 4th player from that game. To add insult to injury, I'm playing against Martin in another league. And speaking of Harvin. I made a point of drafting Harvin in every league I'm in (3). He's been one of the top players in fantasy football this year, PPR or regular. I know several people that wouldn't touch him the last 2 years because of his concussions, but that's stupid. He hasn't missed much time in his career because of them, and they've been a complete non-issue for 2 years. He gets more touches than any WR in the league because he doesn't have receiving talent around him and he gets the ball out of the backfield. Oh and he'll also return kicks. Can't beat touches in fantasy football. Next year, I'm going to jump all over Randall Cobb if the Packers don't re-sign Greg Jennings (they won't). On pace for 98 catches this year, can see him getting more touches in the backfield with Benson out, and he also returns kicks.

    NFL Week 8

I believe David Garrard is still alive and on a team somewhere. I don't see Garrard on a roster. Got cut by the Dolphins, and I don't think he got signed. Neither did Seneca Wallace. Dominique Davis is on the Falcons. Colin Kaepernick is bi-racial. Thaddeus Lewis, Josh Portis, and Dennis Dixon are on practice squads.
  4. My week 8 preview. Carolina's defense actually has not allowed big plays either. They've been picked apart though and have been on the field a ton (2nd most time on field in the NFL), and teams are converting 45% of 3rd downs against them. A lot of plays will be there in the 15-25 yard window. http://www.mr-irrelevantpgh-chi.blogspot.com/
  5. Newton will be the fourth #1 overall QB pick that the Bears have faced this year. Bears are 3-0 in those games. Still have Alex Smith and Stafford again on the schedule.

    NFL Week 8

They likely will only win 2-3 more games at most the rest of the year. Their remaining schedule is @SEA V. DET @CHI @GB V. CHI @STL @HOU V. GB Yeah they should be underdogs in all those games exvept maybe Detroit and StLouis.
  7. That town has ruined you. This is true.
  8. Ive seen people wearing that Steelers jersey. Its not that bad. The khaki pants are the worst.
  9. Its crazy how good the Bears D is playing and Urlacher and Peppers have not been in the top 5 in production on this team. Briggs, Tillman, Jennings, Melton and Wright have arguably been better this year. Conte isnt far behind.
  10. Non PPR, I'd definitely keep Gore and Fitz over either of those deals. While I did sell high on Gore at this exact point last year, it was a PPR league and I wound up with using my return for the Gore trade (Dez Bryant and somone else I can't remember) to trade another WR I had for MJD, who was great the 2nd half of the season. Forte's value lies in PPR, as he doesn't get goalline carries. Jackson, despite being 6'5", has never been a redzone target either. His TDs have typically been of long variety. So, when he doesn't get a long pass, you risk being screwed. Granted, he's been good most of the time this year. But he did have 2 stinkers in the first 3 games. I like Fitz going forward. He's been consistent-er longer.
  11. Bowman has already outplayed McManis.
  12. Conte needs to get up and run. At least sell it.
  13. Forte and Bush have been as good as the o-line has allowed. They've been much better than the line has allowed. The bulk of their yards have come on plays that were stuffed on the front side.
  14. I blame the defense for not jumpstarting the offense.
  15. For the best punt returner in NFL history, Hester sure does miss some chances.
  16. I was reading somewhere (I forget where) that the Bears actually start their drives from a better spot then a majority of teams in the league. Doesn't seem like it when watching the games, but I'm sure it has something to do with all the turnovers the D create. Yeah, it's TOs. They got one at the 20 this game already.
  17. All the penalties have been like 2-3 yards. 2 false starts inside the 5. A PI inside the 5. This call was less than 5 yards.
  18. Hey Bears starting inside the 5. That almost never happens.
  19. Bend don't muther [expletive] break!
  20. Hey-ohhhhhh at least someone got that I'm assuming the gash comment was intentional, so that one wins. YES!
  21. It's almost Tillman pick 6 time!
