  1. Yeah as of today....I'd go OL, TE 1-2. Then CB, LB, or DT in the 4th. Then WR in the 5th followed by one of the 2 positions not picked in the 4th or even a.....wait for it....Quarterback.
  2. I figure we should aim to have 3 good/really good offensive lineman for next season. I think that if you have that, you can get by with some lesser talent at the other two spots. Draft a couple of OL and sign a FA. Hopefully out of that you can get two guys who can start, alongside Carimi. I agree but I know that we also need at least one young developing LB and CB along with a TE I think of those, you can skip CB for this year. Our secondary has been a strength this year, and replacing Urlacher and getting a pass catching TE seem to be more important. Dj Moore and Kelvin Hayden are FAs though. Tillman and Jennings the year after. But yeah the Bears are probably going to forgo the CB position due to lack of picks. No reason to pick another in the 5th or 6th round.
  3. Because they do. Played every year since 2006 except 2008, and they made up for it by playing twice in 2006 and 2010 (playoffs).
  4. Is McFadden playing? I'd go Torrey either way.
  5. Jeffery, Hester, Briggs, Tillman, and Spencer all missed practice. I believe Forte was limited. Carimi is the starting RG this week. James Brown apparently getting some looks too.
  6. Same decision this week in my 1 league that I haven't clinched a playoff spot in. I need a win and 2 of the 4 teams ahead of me by a game (or tied with me but with more points) to lose. One of them for sure will lose as 2 play each other. RGIII vs. Giants- scored 25.72 against them Week 7. Matt Ryan vs. Saints- scored 32.64 against them in Week 10. I didn't listen last week and went with RG3. I'm intrigued by the matchup vs. the Saints D for Ryan, but RG3 is the hot hand right now, with 2 straight 30 point games. Then I have a cluster F at WR and FLEX. Need 2 of Torrey Smith, Harvin (if he plays), Broyles, DeMarco Murray (if he plays), Rashad Jennings.
  7. One of the RB. I would go Reece because I don't really trust Moreno to be consistent for the first time ever.
  8. He's 1 for 9 from three point range this season...he can stop shooting those any time...and yeah, he shouldn't dribble either. Play defense, pass the ball, and crash the boards, please. That's out of his range right now, but he can make them from 15-16 feet. The 3 will be part of his game though, in the near future.
  9. No, actually have an open spot. Replaced Rachal with James Brown. Cut Okoye, signed Gurode. Never made an addition to the roster with Lance Louis going on IR. Think they are waiting to see what happens tomorrow with Forte/Hester as far as practice goes. Could see a WR added to the roster from the P-squad (Joe Anderson) or a RB added for a week or 2 if Forte has to miss time.
  10. Love it! UNC can't do anything to stop Yogi from getting into the lane. Zeller's beating their bigs down the floor consistently. Hell, he's beating their non-bigs down the floor. Oladipo and Sheehey are running circles around their wing players. UNC is going to slow the game down though, so IU is going to probably have to execute in the half court to win this game. I expect UNC to play some zone (if they know how) to try to keep Yogi out of the lane. At this point, they gotta take their chances with IU taking jumpshots. Christian Watford needs to show up if it goes to a halfcourt game.
  11. McAdoo is going to be an NBA all star. Love his game very old school like his dad.
  12. Aaron Curry? Far as I can tell only brought in for a workout. Don't see that he signed
  13. Hollowell is a going to be a great rebounder and can shoot the ball a little, but bad things happen when he tries to dribble the basketball.
  14. Lot of depth at DE. Goes to NE and he can be "the guy" and potentially get another big contract if he puts up numbers.
  15. I don't know that anyone good actually claims Babin. If you do, gotta pay him 1.6Mil for 5 games this year, and he's due 4.3Mil next year. Maybe a bad team with a lot of cap space goes after him that needs a pass rusher (Jax?). But the playoff bound teams that could really use him (ATL, NE, Baltimore, maybe NO, MIN, TB) don't really have the available cap space this year (the 1.6Mil) to claim him. I think he gets thru waivers and has his pick of the team he wants to play for. And I can only assume that would be New England, since they are a 4-3 team which gives them the edge over Baltimore.
  16. He's not any good anymore but he was jobless for a reason
  17. The Bears are 21-1 with Cutler when leading after the 1st quarter.
  18. Eagles released Jason Babin. Not a need, but the Bears have shown interest before in him.
  19. I chipped a bone in my ankle a few years ago. And with Nfl doctors, I dont see why Tillman couldn't play in a week. I was pretty much over it in a 7-10 days only wore an air cast for 2 days.
  20. People are stupid. Bears lost 5 straight games last year without Cutler. They got blown out last week without him. Granted, the Vikings at home is not the 49ers on the road, but it was the difference between looking like a legit NFL offense with Cutler and looking like Navy when the option isn't working, without him. Cutler could win a Superbowl and still won't get props. If he has a Roethlisberger type game, it was the defense that got him a ring (ala Dilfer). If he has a Montana like game winning drive, he should have put the game away earlier or the opposing defense failed to make a play late. The only way Cutler gets his props is if the Bears win the Superbowl 51-48 and Cutler throws for 450 yards, 6 TDs, and gets carried down the field after every play ala Leftwich at Marshall because he has a broken leg. I have a Cutler McFarlane figure on my desk. I've received 2 comments on it. First was, "Cutler!" shaking his head "He's a wuss." Next was, "Wow is that Cutler? Were they sold out of everybody else?" Granted this is Pittsburgh where they don't know anything other than the Steelers and can't fathom why they don't win every superbowl, but are people seriously this stupid? He tore his MCL and continued to play the rest of the half. He broke his thumb last year and played another series to end the game. He took an illegal shot to the face and stayed on the field. This is not a 6'5", 260lb QB. This is not Brady or Manning in his prime sitting in the pocket all day. Dude has gotten sacked and hit more than any QB in the last 4 years. He's missed 2 games (and 1/2 of 3 others) from the 139 sacks he's had to deal with in the last 4 years. The other time he missed was trying to make a tackle on an INT. He's played with [expletive] at WR until this year. The TE position has been incompetent for the most part of his 4 years here. And the 2nd guy is a Browns fan. Seriously? He wouldn't know a good QB, well kinda like Bears fans didn't until 3 1/2 years ago. When/If the Bears win a Superbowl with Cutler, it will be the sweetest championship in my sports life. Sweeter than Payton finally getting his ring. Sweeter than Jordan finally getting one to cement his career as the greatest ever. Sweeter than the Cu......nevermind.
  21. Thank God, the Bears have played in primetime enough this year. This likely means that the Bears won't be playing at night the rest of the season unless Detroit inexplicably turns their season around and is guaranteed a playoff spot with a victory in week 17. The NFL likes to schedule games like that in week 17, ere none of the day's action matters except for whether that team wins or loses. I figured one of those games would be 4:25 (3:25) at the least. Didn't expect either to be flexed to Sunday night.
  22. Yeah, I still kinda want Haren, assuming he projects to get on the mound at all this season. If he's able to pitch, he's going to pitch well. And I think it gives the Cubs so many options. Of course, the trade option, but he could also be a semi-longterm guy (2-4 years) for the top 1/2 of the rotation. He would also give the Cubs a lot of flexibility to do whatever benefits the team most with him, Garza, and Samardzija.
  23. I would be comfortable with Edwin Williams starting guard at the beginning of the year and putting Louis on IR and then activating him as soon as the new rule permits. I'm also admittedly excited to see if Carimi could be a dominant guard. It makes a lot of sense that he would excell there. We hear so much about his great run blocking and he has struggled big time when isolated against a speed rusher. Yeah, I've been real disappointed with Carimi getting off the ball so slow. That should be helped at RG considering he won't be dealing with guys with near WR speed in a ton of open space opposite him. Still even if Carimi is a dominant guard over the next 5+ weeks, having Edwin start at LG and even having Louis still on the roster means the Bears have done nothing at the guard position. Of course, if that means they brought in 2 tackles, I'd be OK with that, I guess....but I don't think that's awfully realistic. I'd still rather go out and get a G and T, hope for the best with Louis, and best case scenario you have decent options like Williams and Louis on the bench. Carimi at RG, RT, or swing OT. Webb either the swing OT or the weak link on the OL, who hopefully can be hidden with good play at LG, RG, and the other T position.
