    Pitching was a little shaky today on both ends, but I was right in thinking a slugfest would favor IU, and it did just barely. 10-9 final.

    He's not doing it for contract reasons. Durant, despite being a clear 2nd best player to LeBron is not in his league in endorsements. This is a good move for Durant to become a household name.

    Yeah it would be nice to end this tonight against a team and goaltender that can't have too much left and haven't shown much outside of LA this postseason.

    Lefty starting today. DeNato was their ace, but has been passed by a 6-10 RHP, Sleggers. Strong thru 3. Can't throw strikes and out with 2 on and a 2-0 count in the 4th.

    IU vs. Florida State in Tallahassee today at 12n. Game 1. The Seminoles are obviously the favorites, but I think these will be 2 or 3 very tough games for them. I think IU actually has a better offensive team, balanced with a couple big time bats in the middle (Schwarber and Travis). And while FSU pitchers have been hot, IU had the 6th best ERA in the nation this year, so they can hold their own. Not sure who is pitching today, but higher scoring game favors the Hoosiers. Both teams are tough to score on late with a couple good relievers on each side. Here's to hoping the Hoosiers can go from their first Super Regionals to the first CWS in school history.

    Pens fans spouting conspiracy theories. Boston is going to win the Cup because of what the city went thru with the bombing. And somehow the Patriots winning after 9/11 (not Skins, Jets or Giants) is part of the same conspiracy. Also included is Ray Lewis winning in his final year. They do conceed that the same was done for Bettis to win in his last year in his home town.

    Lake 2-3 with a double, steal, and a walk.

    Rough game for Soler tonight. 0-5 with 2 strikeouts, and 0 balls hit out of the IF. His final strikeout came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, with a 7-6 score. The good news is Baez went 2-5, with a pair of singles (and 1 K). Baez loaded the bases with a single with 1 out in the 9th. Quick math shows Baez and Soler should be separated by less than 10 points in OPS at this point. Obviously, Soler's is more balanced while Baez is SLG heavy, but don't be so quick to right off Baez as the #1 prospect.

    Amazing win. To be the first team to win in LA, and to do so against a desperate team and without Keith. I expected to be going back to Chicago 2-2, even with Keith.
