  1. Now that's a bat flip!
  2. No such thing as a redundant prospect in general. Half of them won't make it, and half of the ones that do will do so at a different than their projected position. The best problem the Cubs could have is if Olt, Bryant, and Baez are all viable options for 3B at the same time.
  3. Opinions change with new information. Well, I bet no one ever accused you of being capricious. Seems more like a gemini to me.
  4. Any chance to get Jackson AND Perez? Guessing no. I like Jackson more (ironically) but he's a couple years away. I think I'd prefer Jackson and Ramirez over Perez and probably whatever other arm they'd be willing to throw in...especially if Olt is involved.
  5. Rangers are a good trading partner. They have a lot of interesting young arms. Like was said in the other thread, if Olt comes over....hope he's the clear 3rd piece.
  6. Arrieta finished with 9Ks in 6 IP, giving up just 3 hits and 1 ER (on a HR). Iowa is now tied 1-1 in the 16th. Tennessee got cancelled.
  7. Who are your other keepers? Tough choice. Bradshaw is on a team that can't run. Moore will be solid but not special. Gates is on the downside of his career. Alexander would probably be my choice. I like McCoy as the coach and he projects to be a starter on a team that should throw for 4000 yards. He's risky because he's never been anything close to a starting level WR. But I just don't like any of your other options. I'd look to draft a team where Alexander is your #4 wr and best case he's a starter by end of the year for you. Worst case potential matchup option or bye week player. First four keepers are: Arian Foster, Brandon Marshall, Victor Cruz, and Kaepernick That even puts me MORE in the Alexander camp, knowing that you have 2 stud WRs already. You won't need him to be more than a #3, but you can still go BPA in the draft making him your #4 WR if u go that route, which a viable option since you have one of the best 2 RBs in the league and don't need to overdraft there.
  8. I think I want Jeimer Candelario to start hitting more than anything in the world. If he ever hits to his average and power potential, he's an amazing prospect. Only 19 with 42 walks to 58 Ks.
  9. Watkins, get a 3B and move Valbuena there, there's options if Barney isn't capable offensively at 2B until Alcantara is hopefully ready.
  10. Also, Alcantara's walk was intentional to get to Baez (that'll never happen again), Baez then walked. The good sign is that there was a runner in scoring position, which was the winning run in the top of the 8th (7 inning game). So, he was pretty patient in a spot where a lot of players would be jumping out of their shoes to get a hit for their new teammates.
  11. Baez had the game-winning (and only RBI). Alcantara scored the 2nd run.
  12. Who are your other keepers? Tough choice. Bradshaw is on a team that can't run. Moore will be solid but not special. Gates is on the downside of his career. 13. Jaws' rankings are the dumbest thing ESPN has done since "Who is Now?" Way dumber than "Gruden's QB Camp." Jaws isn't bad, and he posts his qb list every year.
  14. Baez played AFL last year and got hurt. Doubt they are sending him back there. Zych and Hatley played AFL last year too, I believe. Not sure what the track record is for sending guys twice, especially in back-to-back seasons. I'd like to see Ha, Soler, Watkins, maybe a starter or 2 and 2 relievers that potentially could help out on the ML team next year.
  15. Javy singled 1 for his last 1
  16. Don't know that he will go straight into playing games after signing.
  17. In the first Baseball Mogul game, Jose Cruz Jr. turned into a superduperstar every single time. I'd always trade for him. Can we get that guy? Yeah, did the same in my game. It's been years ago now, but I remember him hitting 60+ HRs with at least 25 from each side of the plate. OBP was over .600.
  18. Him staying at the school is in question.
  19. I would have taken Ellis and given up Gibson. That's why you draft Dieng when you had the chance.
  20. That Toronto package is terrible. Two has-been prospects. I'd like to think the Cubs can get 1 really good arm, 1 solid-to-good arm, and a throw-in bat (last 2 interchangeable with solid-to-good bat, and throw-in arm) for Garza. The package of players I would hope for would be: Red Sox- 1 of Matt Barnes/Henry Owens, Drake Britton, Lavarnway as a throw in if the Cubs add something (reliever, prospect) DBacks- Skaggs, Chase Anderson Rockies- I like the package you came up with. I'd take that. Rangers- 2 of Luke Jackson, Martin Perez, Justin Grimm. Wilmer Font and Neil Ramirez are intriguing as ML ready options if the Cubs can throw in an OF or RP. I don't see the Pirates being a fit, since they aren't trading Cole or Taillon. Other than that, they are very SS and OF heavy on guys far from the majors...the strength of the Cubs system. Don't see the match. Also don't see the Jays having enough to get a deal done for Garza. Not sure on the Nats and Indians. If the Indians are giving up Bauer, they wouldn't have to give much else for me to be excited about that deal, even with his walks. Nats don't have a lot that I know of outside of Cole, but I'd take him and a couple other arms. Ian Krol is a good looking, hard-throwing LH reliever that I'd be interested in.
  21. I don't see 20% K rate being bad when you have 40 HR power, especially since he can hit for average also.
  22. 2014 post AS break IF of Baez, Castro, Alcantara, Rizzo could be fun to watch, even if the Cubs aren't any good as a team.
  23. I was talking about where he will bat in general not today.
  24. Who else could they go after? Parsons? Terrence Jones? I imagine one of Asik/Lin or possibly both have to be in it to make the $$$ work. And then there's always more draft picks. I know it seems like people are saying "tank for Wiggins", but is he for real? I mean is he on the same level as LeBron/Durant or is it the hype making him better than he really is? I haven't followed high school basketball in so long so I don't really know how good Wiggins is. Experts are saying, Durant like talent. ...not quite LeBron. When i have seen him play on tv ( McD AA game and 1 reg season game), I've gotten the impression that he's more like Kidd Gilchrist with more natural scoring ability. Can do everything like LeBron but not as well.
