Who is the Cubs #6 Prospect?

Johnson 6, Alcantara 7, Vogelbach 8 is the order I have them in, but I can be persuaded any way with these 3. If Vogelbach had a position, he'd easily be ahead of these 2. And I've think I've gone from overrating Alcantara to underrating him. I think I had him at 7 last year also. Nothing really against him. But he's not better than the big 4. And I like both arms over him. CJ's numbers + fastball and curve. Johnson was very good down the stretch this year and seemed to get stronger as the season went on. -

His scheme versatility is one of the main reasons I prefer him to Hageman and Jernigan. Especially important since they're talking about running multiple styles of defense. Yep, and the teams that run a hybrid/multiple style of defenses successfully have guys that physically look a lot like Nix on their DL. NE- Wilfork, Balt- Ngata, Sea- Mebane.

45 degree boner for me Incidentally, according to the interwebs, it would take a 40-inch boner to make the average human man to pass out. Tanaka's got me at 35 right now, and the actual signing of him might get me the last five. I'll never understand white guys talking having boners to non-sexual things.

But didn't he have a ton of help, including another tackle playing off his right side? The lack of actual sacks wasn't due to protection, it was due to scheme, help and Cutler clearing out. A ton? Britton only played on 22% of the snaps, and basically played a full game in the finale. Plus (again off the top of my head) I remember him playing a bunch on the left side to help Bushrod with especially strong pass rushers. Not saying Mills was great, even good. Hell, he was clearly below average based on the eye test, but no way he was the worst OT in football the way PFF ratings indicate.

Bucaneers (-46.2) were 2nd worst, and Patriots (-38.7) were 3rd. Best 3 were Arizona (+34.3), Detroit (+30.0) and Carolina (+21.2) http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10306488/teams-most-least-production-2013-draft-picks-nfl It's because Bostic, Mills, and Greene were among the worst at their positions according to their scoring. I think Mills' lack of success is overblown. They have him as the worst OT in the league. He gave up a lot of pressures, but only 3 sacks. They basically equate sacks and pressures the same. Off the top of my head, I don't think he gave up a sack of Cutler at all. All his sacks allowed came AFTER the Washington game. Maybe he gave up 1 in the Philly game, but I remember Forte being responsible for about 2-3 and Kyle Long for 1.

Because Bryant is RH, I always go to Pat "The Bat" Burrell. Similar career path too. I think Burrell was a 3B. Big time power prospect out of college. 700 minor league ABs in 1 1/2 before he was in the majors. Debuted as the #17 overall prospect. I think he's a better fielder and faster than Burrell, so hopefully Bryant's peak is better and longer.

They better protect Brees next year. But yeah, I've been on record of what I think about their WRs. Colston is serviceable. I love Stills, but he's at best a 2 in his prime. Benjamin would make them a pretty dangerous group again.

Interesting. He sucks as a head coach, but was LB coach for the Cowboys earlier in the 2000s. Also Dolphins DC. Gets a lot of credit for the development of Demarcus Ware as an OLB. Also of note, he's primarily has coached 3-4 defenses in the NFL. Odd hire. He's old and has been a coach since the 70's but he only has six seasons in the NFL, from 2005-2010. He's been a tight end coach as well as d line coach and DC. Plus college head coach. Certainly this isn't a guy in high demand, having been fired in September. Yeah, definitely not planning on him being in this position long-term. He's 64. If he does a decent job, he may get a HC job at a FBS non-BCS school. IF he's not, he'll be basically retiring himself in a couple years.

Pisses me off that IU didn't win in Champaign now. I do wish the Chicago kids would stay home though. Every Illinois team that has had a heavy Chicago flavor has been very fun to watch despite being fan of a rival.

Problem is value, if they stay at 14. LB: only non-astronomical reach option is CJ Mosely. I don't think they go LB early, as they just picked 2 young LBs. Do they see how the 2 failed last year and then throw another rookie in there to try and start? CB- lots of guys here. I could see Dennard, Gilbert, or if he has a great pre-draft workout, Roby S- I think Dix and Pryor (who I love) are top 2. But both are huge reaches at 15. Both are borderline top 25 talents. DE- Clowney will be gone. Tuitt's not a true edge rushing DE. It's Kony Ealy or bust here. At DT, you could have Nix, Hageman, Tuitt (could fit here), and Jernigan in the mix. Oh, I could see Clinton-Dix and Pryor both going top 25. Clinton-Dix probably goes top 20. I actually have Pryor rated higher than Clinton-Dix. I could see the Rams taking a S, right before the Bears at 13, but that's a big reach to me. After that I'm thinking Packers at 21 would be the best chance. My guess is one goes in the 20s, the other top of the 2nd.

I really hope Soler starts at Tennessee and Almora at Daytona. I think they're ready. Out of character for the FO, but I wonder if it's POSSIBLE they start them both in Tennessee. I think its more likely they both start in Daytona. I don't know if keeping them together is still an issue, as they weren't together for most of last year.

Nah, Zimmer is a good hire. 2nd best of the offseason, IMO, behind Bradley in Houston. I'll take proven coordinator or college coach getting promotions to HC over retread head coaches who have never won anything. I just think hiring a defensive-minded coach when your offense is a mess with no QB was a mistake. Not really, depends on his offensive coordinator. And he has a huge coaching tree as he's been a long-time DC for several organizations. I'm thinking he'll be able to find someone pretty decent. -
