  1. I have 3 bleacher tix that I am selling for the 4-10 game. Only asking face value, which is $17 a piece.
  2. Good thing we have DeRosa and Izturis coming up..
  3. I dont like the cubs new approach of walking as many people as possible to get to Dunn
  4. MLB EI is free this week, and the game is on somewhere between Channel 735 and 749 thanks for the info!
  5. Does anybody know if this game will be televised anywhere on direct TV. It lists comcast but I can't find a comcast+ anywhere? Any help would be appreciated?
  6. I decided to work from home today because I wasn't feeling good "cough, cough". What the games are televised? What a coincidence. :D
  7. This sounds pretty good. I'm sure could get more in other places but how much more? If it ends up near the 85 over 5 years, that's 17 mil/yr. What did Zito get? 18 mil/yr? Granted it's a hometown discount but it would seem feasible. They will also probably add attainable bonuses that could mean more $$.
  8. Sure, at just under 5. Yes, but the CL is very offense oriented I understand, but it's still not something to brag about. Apparently you don't. How good you are at something is always relative. If I told you that the Cubs have a 3.41 team ERA, your first line of thought would be that the Cubs had an excellent pitching staff. Suppose after that I told you that it was in the 1968 season and was good for second to last in the league. So in reality they weren't very good. While the Cubs pitching staff has produced a terrible ERA in the sense of our recent season lines, it has produced a very GOOD ERA relative to the pitching environment they're in - which again is the ONLY way of determining how good something is, since good intrinsically includes how everyone else is. Granted, you're more or less right. It does show they've pitched well compared to everyone else, but it also does not mean much because it's open to a huge list of sample size caveats. On the other side of the coin (as of a few days ago the numbers are off the top of my head so dont quote me on them) the Cubs had a team batting average of .311. Great, right? Not so much. They're right in the middle of the Cactus League in AVG, where the league BA is roughly .300 or so. It's relative. You cannot make any conclusions without looking at it like you did. took me quite a few times to read this-- kept getting distracted by the girl in the pic. :D
  9. only WGN here as well. I am watching though, hoping to see Garland get rocked by the snakes..
  10. Before or after the attack by rabid wolverines? Keep him away from the hot tub!
  11. Is he throwing anything else for strikes? If he doesn't get any off speed or breaking pitches over the fastball is gonna get killed.
  12. they should retire the # 43. Maybe that would help or something
  13. It should've been caught. They should just save some money and order one of those fathead things of floyd to put in LF. It would cover more ground..
  14. It's ST, I think Lou just wants to see what Ronny can do. He's still being considered for the utility position. I'd think that way too. more often then not if he's the 25th man, he might be called on in the late innings to come in an drop a bunt down.
  15. It's throwback day. They are letting Dusty make the lineup again to remind us how good Lou has been.
  16. Lineups according to MLB.com Soriano, CF Izturis, SS Pagan, RF Ramirez, 3B Ward, 1B Barrett, C DeRosa, 2B Coats, LF Lilly, P Taveras, CF Carroll, 2B Atkins, 3B Helton, 1B Holliday, LF Hawpe, RF Tulowitzki, SS Torrealba, Yor, C Lawrence, P
  17. good things these games mean nothing! Otherwise I would have to keep my highest paid, older players in the game!
  18. To his credit, the sox hit some good pitches. They were very timely hits with men on base. No K's though which is worrisome. His defense didn't do him any favors either. Theriot looks like a matador over there. Also, most everything was on the ground it seemed. It is a little bothersome that he couldn't put people away. he was ahead of most of the hitters at least through the first 3 innings. I didnt follow the 4th much.
  19. Read back a couple of pages...or go here. Yikes. Talk about a complete overreaction. He gave up 2 hits and 0 runs in 4 innings (granted it was minor league hitters). But he's completely done for. And what's the calves thing? Just stupid. Yeah, but what kind of hitters were in the lineup? Dope, Spears.. a mixture I'm sure. We'll know more once a newspaper posts something I am sure. It's odd if the workout has been over that long that none of the major chicago papers have anything yet.
  20. Well the only reason to believe he wasnt throwing hard is that, "it wasn't popping like Marquis". True. Even at 84-85 the glove can pop
  21. That article doesn't sound all that good, but it is encouraging he threw 60 innings, didnt walk the world (whip was 1.00 for the day) and gave up no runs. Granted, he wasn't pitching against Pujols or anybody like that but it has to be his best outing yet. The pitch count is high, but given he faced 16 batters, it less the 4 pitches per batter. discouraging if he wasn't throwing that hard but still no reason to jump off a ledge.
  22. Guz has thrown 27 pitches this inning after the walk to Uribe. 35 pitchers overall
