I am not saying this is fair, but as long as a team is eligible record really becomes meaningless. The teams that bring the most money will get the bids. IMO ND will go no matter what happens, if they win next week. The only thing that will keep them out is the top 4 rule, and that may come into effect if a Big XII north team upsets and USC loses to UCLA, moving PSU and LSU into 1 & 2, but even then it is not very likely. Teams that may deserve it more could get screwed. It is not fair, but it is the business aspect taking over. And if, in the end, it's about business, then the BCS is an even bigger farce than previously imagined I would agree with you on that. 1, 2 and top 12 are the only numbers that matter.
