Wouldn't be surprised if ND got jumped by both Auburn and Oregon in the BCS, really. Although as long as the Irish are top 12, I don't care. ND will probably get jumped by Oregon, IMO. However with Bama losing, it will not affect ND's spot. Like you said though, as long as they are in the top 12, its OK with me.

Wow, the gameday boys just went against everything I have heard, and said the Orange may pick OSU over PSU, leaving a PSU/ND Fiesta.

The worse Leinart plays the more likely his teammate Bush wins the Heisman. If he plays well Vince Young will win the Heisman thanks to the split ballot principle. I can't get the game here (stupid comcast sports) but I just read on an ND board that FSU is using the same method as ND did- long, slow drives that eat the clock. Is it really like that? Sometimes that board is to ND biased, even for my taste, so it could be an exaggeration just to say some good things about the Irish-even in a game they are in no way involved in.

I may be wrong but I don't think a USC loss will help ND. It will take up another at large. Also if they do lose, will they move down any furthur than 2? It's a nonconference game, so as long as USC beats UCLA next week they will still win the Pac 10 and get the automatic bid. Will they drop past PSU with a loss? I dunno, but I would like to find out. And Ronnie makes a good point as well that I forgot about completely. :) As did I. So really if USC losses, Oregon will be the main team getting screwed?

Miami now may play in the Fiesta instead of OSU. Depends on which game is more attractive. ND/Miami would stir up some real memories for many fans :D I don't think Miami has a shot over OSU. Miami fans do not travel, and the Buckeyes have some of the best fans in sports. They wuld be a better boost to the local economy than the Canes. Plus, Irish, Buckeyes would be pretty great, too. The Buckeyes do deserve it more anyway. Both of there losses were to top 3 teams by a combined 10 points. I agree OSU deserves it more, and that is probably what will happen. Just a little wishful thinking on my part. I would love to see a Miami/ND matchup. I guess I can always hope for a ND loss next week, and a ND/Miami Gator Bowl...but I think I will stick with ND/OSU

Fresno tonight might be your best shot. Wouldn't that be something to see JoePa go for the National title. UCLA and Fresno State should probably become your two new favorite teams :wink:

aS I said before, there's a huge range in the quality of game orton could have. Most likely, he's no good and the bears lose by a significant margin. I don't think anyone is saying the bears are the favorite here. Vegas certainly isn't. When I made my NFL picks this week, I was marveling at the fact that two division leaders (Cincy and Chicago) are home dogs this week. You almost never see that this late in the season. Two division leaders as dogs, or Cincy and Chicago as those teams? :D -
Or would it be a tie UCLA, USC, Oregon all 1 loss. Oregon lost to USC USC lost to UCLA With no tiebreaker between UCLA and Oregon would they tie, or would the USC game be a tiebreaker? A Possible 3 way tie?

Unfortunately for fans of Oregon, VT, etc., the bowl comittees are as biased as you are. I think if it comes down to one 2-loss team getting an at-large, you can't argue ND over OSU. Ohio State lost at home to a potentially 12-0 team, and on the road to a 10-1 team. Similar debate can be made with PSU and Miami. Which loss was worse, Miami losing to FSU, or Penn State to Michigan? Tough call. I think the worst thing that could happen to ND is for no more 0 or 1-loss teams to lose, because they wouldn't have a team fall behind them for "losing late". You may still get your dream of a ND vs. OSU matchup, it just may not be in a BCS game ;) As long as ND wins next week they will be in a BCS game.

Definately. This may soulnd dumb to say, but Cuban is a real fan of his team. IMO, it is not about the bottom dollar to him.

Is this the reason that they are adding another BCS game next year. The fact that a team has to be in the top 12, but they only pick 8 teams means someone will always be screwed.
