  1. So what is our draft position if everything holds and we win? I believe if we lose, we get the 8th pick (assuming Boston doesn't come back). If we win and the White Sox win, we get the 8th pick. If we win and the White Sox lose, we get the 9th pick. It's looking like 9 right now.
  2. How can they still not know that turnovers are automatically reviewed?
  3. What happened with the refs this time?
  4. Playing for draft position today... The White Sox win a tiebreaker with the Cubs and the Cubs win a tiebreaker with the Phillies. That means the Cubs could be drafting anywhere between 7 and 9 (accounting for Houston's compensation pick) depending on the outcomes of Cubs/Brewers, White Sox/Royals, and Red Sox/Yankees.
  5. Yep. That was a nice way to go out. Good for him.
  6. You read my mind... I was just about to say "can we please get this guy a real number next year?"
  7. He has 9 home runs, so approximately 9 out of however many at bats he has had.
  8. That pitch couldn't have been any more down the middle. That is ridiculous.
  9. Am I reading too much into the article to think that, as soon as next season, there could be another tier of MLB.tv that also allows the live streaming of local games? I have no idea how that could impact teams financially, but as a consumer I would love that it finally gives me a legitimate opportunity to cut the cord entirely.
  10. Fixed. Eh, idk if I'd go that far. I'd be okay with seeing if he can be a LOOGY or else use him as the long man/spot starter next year. Not if he is going to make anywhere near the $3.9 Million he is getting this year.
  11. I want to be optimistic, but he just looks awful right now.
  12. This feels like the longest half of football ever.
  13. I hope Stanton is ok, but selfishly I can't help but think how this may impact the Cubs. If an offseason trade was a possibility before, it may be less likely now. Depending on the severity of the injury, and if Stanton ends up being out the rest of the season, then there will be the question of whether he will still be the same player when he comes back. That would make it difficult to trade him and get maximum value, so I assume it becomes more likely that the Marlins would keep him into next season.
  14. What is the deal with that? Are they going with fewer off days or just playing later into October?
  15. No Soler in the lineup. Another scheduled off day already?
  16. Someone reassure me about Baez... Yes I know that his pattern has been to struggle mightily at each new level before "figuring it out," but his approach seems so completely broken that I'm doubtful he is going to make some minor adjustment that suddenly eliminates his problems. He appears to be completely guessing, pre-determining which pitches he is going to swing at. He takes a fastball right down the middle of the plate, then swings at one 3 feet out of the zone. I realize I am almost certainly overreacting, but he doesn't look like someone who is ready for the major leagues right now. It is also pretty clear that he is over-swinging, but I'm not so worried about that. I'm confident that some combination of coaching and him becoming more comfortable at the plate will help him realize that he doesn't need to put everything he has into every swing. But will that correspond to an improved understanding of the strike zone? As much as I want to see Baez, Bryant, and Soler together in the lineup by mid-April, I'm starting to wonder whether Baez may spend some more time in Iowa next year if he doesn't begin to show signs of improvement over the next few weeks.
  17. Delayed again, and it is actually raining this time.
  18. I stand corrected! I suppose maybe they will be stricter about it when demand is back up, or maybe not.
  19. No, you can't do that, and you can't will them to a family member either. There is no system for transferring ownership that I am aware of.
