  1. Enough that Hendricks shuts them down with pinpoint control!
  2. Yeah, I don't quite understand the scheduling either. If both NL series were to go 5 games, MLB would really shoot themselves in the foot by putting the Cubs/Cardinals deciding game at 4:37 EST. That just doesn't make sense, especially with the other game being on the West Coast. Why not go with a more traditional 6:00 and 9:00 (or later) start times to get both games on in the evening?
  3. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but next week's NLDS schedule could really suck with multiple 3:30 starts.
  4. Not that is matters, but Sean Rodriguez is going to get a suspension, right?
  5. Yeah, the camera isn't exactly "hidden" if you know it is there.
  6. I can't help but think of this next series against the Cardinals as kind of a Bulls/Pistons changing of the guard type moment. It is our turn now!
  7. In reference to Jake not having his best stuff - "I'm not sure what game you were watching."
  8. One of the announcers mentioned it mid-game, but I think Garrett Cole really knew they were in trouble immediately after the first inning and it went downhill from there for them.
  9. Apropos of nothing, has a team ever pulled a starting pitcher "switch-a-roo" in a critical game like this? Let's say for example, the Pirates started warming Liriano up immediately after lineups were exchanged and brought him in after the first inning. Then the Cubs would be forced to either stick with their left-handed lineup against the lefty, or replace and lose a few of those hitters early in the game. I know it's stupid, but it seems like it could be an effective strategy in some scenarios.
  10. Uh oh. They have solved Arrieta. Guys just weren't "pumped" enough to hit him before.
  11. Meh; everyone at the Network has been slobbering over Arrieta that he either was chosen or decided to be the one guy who locked on to Cole. He's been doing it for almost a couple of weeks now. He was just on ESPN 1000 and his comments all led to him picking the Pirates to win, but I don't think he wanted to say that on Chicago radio so he went with the Cubs.
  12. I know if I just bury my head in my computer screen and do work, the day will go by faster, but trying to do that is much easier said than done. I'll probably end up just staring blankly at my computer while listening to sports radio all day.
  13. 78 road games... This is the reverse split of broadcasting.
  14. At the very least, MLB should allow wild card teams to have home field advantage if they eventually play a division winner with a lesser record. Maybe they could take it one step further and determine first round matchups by records AFTER the wild card game has been completed and treating the wild card winner as any other playoff team.
  15. I can already hear the Pirates fans whining about the unfairness of having their season ended by facing Arrieta in a 1-game playoff. I can't say their complaints will be unfounded though and I think either way this will probably be the beginning of the end of the 1-game format.
  16. That Wallapop ad left out the part where the guy blindfolded the woman and threw her in his van.
  17. Shouldn't Pirates fans be saying that about the Reds and Brewers?
