Why? A gassed Farrell is still a better bet than a position player. Y’all do realize Farrell was a starter in the minors who can throw 100 pitches if necessary? You are right. He did throw 84 pitches on May 22, so I guess he should still be ok. -
I get that Joe is trying to save the bullpen, and we don't necessarily care all that much about Luke Farrell, but at what point is it irresponsible to keep him out there?

Farrell up, Hancock down. I can't figure this one out. Farrell was terrible and Hancock has been pretty good. Is it possible they want to stretch Hancock out as rotation insurance?

Serious question. Who addresses all the mental mistakes with the team? It is a pattern that is happening way too often and we know Joe is pretty hands off with the team during the season. Why don't Butler and Montgomery count? Do you think other teams have extra rotation guys stockpiled and ready to replace top or middle-of-rotation starters without missing a beat? Montgomery and Butler are serviceable replacement 5th starters, and that is really all they need to be.

This is unrelated to your comment on his personal appearance, but the more I listen to him on the radio the more he feels like Ron Santo. Maybe a little more with it, and a little less of an unabashed homer with his heart on his sleeve, but definitely get the same overall vibe from him. I have grown to like him more over the years. He isn't the best color guy around, but we could do a lot worse.

reminds me of when Dusty used to keep players at the same spot in the batting order when they replaced a normal starter. Like Trinidad Hubbard batting 3rd when Sammy went on the DL Are you suggesting Trinidad Hubbard wasn't a legitimate 3 hitter??? Poppycock!
